    In the last two decades, more and more publications pedagogical and psychological referring to researchin the field of neurobiology. They appear in them new concepts and names of new disciplines such as neuropedagogy, neurodidactics or educational neuroscience and neuropsychology education. The US, the UK and Canada have attempted to standardize terminology and to clarify the scope of research across disciplines. This publication is not only an attempt to present the theoretical concept of the origin and interrelationships of newly established disciplines based on international scientific sources. The author has decided to embed analyses on the specifics of Polish terms to propose names for an interesting and new field known as Mind, Brain and Education (MBE).

    The author discusses the problem of studying the clothes and fashion history in contemporary Polish science. To assess the role, signifi cance and potential of these studies, the author analyzes selected examples from their history. In addition, the text analyzes the diff erence between the history of clothing and the history of fashion. He concludes indicating the possibilities of the development of these disciplines.

    This study concerns the online sports media coverage, a topic that has not been previously analyzed in Poland. In recent decades many studies (in Anglo–Saxon countries in particular) indicated the major underrepresentation of women’s sport and different framing of sportswomen and sportsmen. Those studies showed that the media plays important role in upholding gender stereotypes in sport and hindering empowerment of sportswomen. This study analyzes media coverage of three sports disciplines (gymnastics, swimming and weightlifting) during Rio Olympics on five websites. Findings revealed underrepresentation of women’s sport and setting the trend to write about women’s sport in disciplines consider as appropriated for women. The qualitative analysis did not indicate gender–specific descriptors in materials about sportspeople.

    Definicja uniwersytetów obowiązująca w Polsce znacząco odbiega od standardów światowych co wynika z zupełnie innego podziału dziedzin i dyscyplin naukowych. Szansą na zbliżenie się polskich uniwersytetów do światowych czołówek jest wdrożenie działań konsolidacyjnych w celu stworzenia kompletnych uniwersytetów, skupiających różnorodne dziedziny i oferujących interdyscyplinarne podejście do rozwoju talentów, kierunków badawczych i etosu akademickiego. Przedstawiono przykłady działań konsolidacyjnych na uczelniach w Belgii, Danii i w Polsce. Zwrócono również uwagę na znaczenie mobilności młodej kadry naukowej w ramach staży podoktorskich.
    Definition of Polish universities significantly differs from the world standards what is the result of different classification of scientific fields and disciplines. In order to approach higher position in world ranks, consolidation activities are recommended. The outcome of such activities should result in creation of “complete” universities offering interdisciplinary approach towards development of talents, research fields and academic ethos. Selected consolidation activities from Belgium, Denmark and Poland are discussed. Mobility of your researchers (postdocs) was also emphasized.

    This article analyses the reviews of Polish books on the history of education and bringing up children in the years 1945-1989. It presents the ways in which critics reviewed new publications and shows the aspects which they paid special attention to. The reviews were published in the most renowned magazines among historians of education and raising children, such as ”Przegląd Historyczno-Oświatowy” (The History and Education Review), ”Rozprawy z Dziejów Oświaty” (Dissertations on the History of Education). Some of them were written by renowned specialists in the field. For contemporary historians, the reviews may constitute an interesting source of information on academic criticism from the times of the Polish People’s Republic. They may also bear witness to the hard work and efforts made towards conducting thorough studies into the history of education and bringing up children over various historical periods.
