Opis:: This article is devoted to the concept of an artifact, as derived from older methodological knowledge (J. Białostocki and E. Panofsky), which has been broadened to include new indicators, such as changes of the virtual era as well as the categories of experience and reflections on narration. By reconstructing the phenomenon of artifacts, the author refers to the category of ‘reality’ accordingto Heidegger and W. Toporow as well as the ideas of a ‘sign’ and ‘theme’, and Polish artistic practice (T. Kantor and Z. Herbert). The concept is situated within the arts as well as within a contextualized area of the social sciences (an actant) and aims to offer new perspectives on the study of culture.

Opis:: Studies related to artifacts, to what has been traditionally categorized as ‘high’ and ‘minor’ or ‘applied arts’, and to the materiality of art in recent years have been among the core foci of art history. More scholarly attention has also been given to the intersections between visual and material culture, not least in transcultural contexts. This paper seeks to contribute to these issues. Investigating transmaterial and transmedial dynamics between the arts, image-object interrelations as well as phenomena wherein images themselves gave the impulse to the creation of artifacts, the paper analyzes transfer processes transgressing various media and materials, 15th- and 16th-century Italian and Portuguese paintings in their Mediterranean and global entanglements, as well as 19th - and 20th-century artistic and academic approaches to objects in paintings.

Opis:: Paper deals with a conception of Antun Gustav Matoš authorship, regarding his own definition of his life as a work of art. Performing his authorship in a variety of literary texts, letters and notices, he lived in extremes, being flaneur, dandy and a bohem, world traveler and a nationalist ideologist, what influenced reception of his work until recent period. Critical and historiographic, as much as other literary works related to AGM follow this „author-centered” positions regarding his life as a work of art, as much as his literary texts as a reflection of his life. Latest Croatian „Matosiana” book, Dubravka Oraić Tolić̕ Reading Matoš (Čitanja Matoša, 2013), attests some traditional critical assumptions regarding authorship of this canonical writer end expands them in a new context. Different theories of literary canon formation, especially those grounded on feminist or psychoanalytical approach, call in question usual strategies in creation and understanding AGMs authorship, aestheticism and anti-modernism.
