Opis:: Distance-hereditary graphs can be characterized by every cycle of length at least 5 having crossing chords. This makes distance-hereditary graphs susceptible to dualizing, using the common extension of geometric face/vertex planar graph duality to cycle/cutset duality as in abstract matroidal duality. The resulting “DH* graphs” are characterized and then analyzed in terms of connectivity. These results are used in a special case of plane-embedded graphs to justify viewing DH* graphs as the duals of distance-hereditary graphs.

Opis:: Line digraphs can be obtained by sequences of state splittings, a particular kind of operation widely used in symbolic dynamics [12]. Properties of line digraphs inherited from the source have been studied, for instance in [7] Harminc showed that the cardinalities of the sets of kernels and solutions (kernel's dual definition) of a digraph and its line digraph coincide. We extend this for (k,l)-kernels in the context of state splittings and also look at (k,l)-semikernels, k-Grundy functions and their duals.

Opis:: For a multidimensional control problem $(P)_K$ involving controls $u ∈ L_∞$, we construct a dual problem $(D)_K$ in which the variables ν to be paired with u are taken from the measure space rca (Ω,) instead of $(L_∞)*$. For this purpose, we add to $(P)_K$ a Baire class restriction for the representatives of the controls u. As main results, we prove a strong duality theorem and saddle-point conditions.
