Opis:
The present investigation deals with the propagation of circular crested Lamb waves in a homogeneous micropolar transversely isotropic medium. Secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetric modes of wave propagation in completely separate terms are derived. The amplitudes of displacements and microrotation are computed numerically for magnesium as a material and the dispersion curves, amplitudes of displacements and microrotation for symmetric and skew-symmetric wave modes are presented graphically to evince the effect of anisotropy. Some special cases of interest are also deduced.

Opis:
The paper is concerned with the propagation of plane waves in a transversely isotropic two temperature generalized thermoelastic solid half-space with voids and rotation. The governing equations are modified in the context of Lord and Shulman theory of generalized thermoelasticity and solved to show the existence of four plane waves in the x – z plane. Reflection of these plane waves from thermally insulated stress free surface is also studied to obtain a system of four non-homogeneous equations. For numerical computations of speed and reflection coefficients, a particular material is modelled as transversely isotropic generalized thermoelastic solid half-space. The speeds of plane waves are computed against the angle of propagation to observe the effects of two temperature and rotation. Reflection coefficients of various reflected waves are also computed against the angle of incidence to observe the effects of various parameters.

Opis:
A relation connecting stress intensity factors (SIF) with displacement intensity factors (DIF) at the crack front is derived by solving a pseudodifferential equation connecting stress and displacement discontinuity fields for a plane crack in an elastic anisotropic medium with arbitrary anisotropy. It is found that at a particular point on the crack front, the vector valued SIF is uniquely determined by the corresponding DIF evaluated at the same point.

Opis:
The effect of magnetic dependent (MFD) viscosity on Soret driven ferrothermohaline convection in a densely packed anisotropic porous medium has been studied. The Soret effect is focused on the system. A linear stability analysis is carried out using a normal mode technique and a perturbation method is applied. It is found that a stationary mode is favorable for the Darcy model. Vertical anisotropy tends to destabilize the system and the magnetization effect is found to stabilize the system. It is also found that the MFD viscosity delays the onset of convection. Numerical computations are made and illustrated graphically.

Opis:
In this work, a numerical study of a sharply expanding highly swirling flow is carried out using v2-f models based on the Comsol Multiphysics 5.6 software package and a two-fluid turbulence model. The results obtained are compared with known experimental data with different pipe diameters. The purpose of this work is to test the ability of models to describe anisotropic turbulence. It is shown that the two-fluid model is more suitable for studying such flows.
