Opis:
It can be considered that the suspension system is one of the most important systems in the VEHICLE. Where it is responsible for the stability and balance of the vehicle’s structure on the roads and curves to ensure the comfort of passengers. Also, it absorbs the shocks resulting from the unevenness of the road and prevents it from reaching the wheelhouse. The influence of the suspension constructive parameters in order to obtain the smallest level of displacements of the sprung mass has been investigated. The following control parameters are the stiffness of the sprung, unsprung mass, and the damping of the sprung mass. The parameter which affects most displacements of the sprung mass was determined by applying the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The investigation was conducted using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, and a line model of a quarter of the vehicle was created. It was determined that the stiffness of sprung has the most significant influence on the displacement of the sprung-mass, which further affect the vehicle’s comfort.

W artykule zaprezentowano ideę monitorowania stanu konstrukcji jako działania wspierającego ochronę środowiska. Przedstawiono, na przykładzie badań dwukondygnacyjnej ramy portalowej, wstępną propozycję procedury umożliwiającej detekcję uszkodzeń połączeń w badanej konstrukcji. Prezentowane w opracowaniu wnioski bazują na pomiarach przyspieszeń w wybranych punktach konstrukcji poddanej wzbudzeniu dynamicznemu. Jako narzędzie do analizy zmian parametrów dynamicznych układu wykorzystano jednowarstwowe, jednokierunkowe sztuczne sieci neuronowe.
The article presents the idea of structural health monitoring as a supporting action to protect the environment. The preliminary proposal of a procedure enabling the damage detection of the joints is shown on the example of a two-storey portal frame. Conclusions, presented in the paper, based on the measurement of accelerations in selected points of structure, subjected to dynamic excitation. Single-layer, feed-forward artificial neural networks were used as a tool for the analysis of changes in the dynamic parameters.

Opis:
Two deterministic age-sex-structured population dynamics models are discussed taking into account random mating of sexes (without formation of permanent male-female couples), possible destruction of the fetus (abortion), and female's pregnancy. One of them deals with both random and directed diffusion in the whole space while in the other the population is assumed to be nondispersing. The population consists of three components: one maleand two female, the latter two being the single (nonfertilized) female and the fertilized one. The case of a separable solution of the limited nondispersing population (in which death moduli can be decomposed into the sum of two terms where one of them depends on time and age and theother is a function of time and the population size) is analyzed. The existence of a unique solution of the Cauchy problem for the nondispersing population model is proved and its longtime behavior is demonstrated. An analogous situation for the dispersing population is analyzed, too.

Cell manipulation using external magnetic fields has been proposed to accelerate the neck reendothelization of saccular unruptured stented intracranial aneurysms. This work presents a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of a Saccular Brain Aneurysm that incorporates a helicoidal stent. An Eulerian-Lagrangian model implemented in ANSYS-Fluent is used to simulate the hemodynamics in the aneurysm. In silico studies have been conducted to describe the incidence of the magnetic field direction, frequency and amplitude on the blood hemodynamics and particle capture efficiency, when an external magnetic field is used to trap magnetically labeled particles traveling through the aneurysm. It is found that the magnetic field direction affects the particle concentration in the target region. Simulation results show that the highest particle capture efficiency is obtained with a 1T magnetic field amplitude in an open bore MRI scanner, when a permanent magnet is used.

The dynamics of orthogonal mechanism in the presence of a shaking table of fixed cargo is studied. The focus is on the vibrational motion of the mechanism in slow-speed motor rotation. The analysis of the solutions for motion nonlinear equations showed that the angular velocity of the guiding link oscillates according to the harmonic law about a mean value. The character of changing its amplitude, depending on the weight of the cargo and the length of the guiding link, is determined. Dependence of the mean angular velocity on the motor torque is set.

Opis:
The design of an interval observer for estimation of unmeasured state variables with application to drinking water distribution systems is described. In particular, the design process of such an observer is considered for estimation of the water quality described by the concentration of free chlorine. The interval observer is derived to produce the robust interval bounds on the estimated water quality state variables. The stability and robustness of the interval observer are investigated under uncertainty in system dynamics, inputs, initial conditions and measurement errors. The bounds on the estimated variables are generated by solving two systems of first-order ordinary differential equations. For that reason, despite a large scale of the systems, the numerical efficiency is sufficient for the on-line monitoring of the water quality. Finally, in order to validate the performance of the observer, it is applied to the model of a real water distribution network.

The work presents the dynamic equations of motion of a wheeled mobile robot with mecanum wheels derived with the use of Lagrange equations of the second kind. Mecanum wheels are a new type of wheels used in wheeled mobile robots and they consist of freely rotating rollers attached to the circumference of the wheels. In order to derive dynamic equations of motion of a wheeled mobile robot, the kinetic energy of the system is determined, as well as the generalised forces affecting the system. The resulting mathematical model of a wheeled mobile robot was generated with the use of Maple V software. The results of a solution of inverse and forward problems of dynamics of the discussed object are also published.

When conducting a dynamic simulation of a multibody mechanical system, the model definition may need to be altered during the simulation course due to, e.g., changes in the way the system interacts with external objects. In this paper, we propose a general procedure for modifying simulation models of articulated figures, particularly useful when dealing with systems in time-varying contact with the environment. The proposed algorithm adjusts model connectivity, geometry and current state, producing its equivalent ready to be used by the simulation procedure. Furthermore, we also provide a simple usage scenario-a passive planar biped walker.

In the paper, an analysis method is applied to the lateral stabilization problem of vehicle systems. The aim is to find the largest state-space region in which the lateral stability of the vehicle can be guaranteed by the peak-bounded control input. In the analysis, the nonlinear polynomial sum-of-squares programming method is applied. A practical computation technique is developed to calculate the maximum controlled invariant set of the system. The method calculates the maximum controlled invariant sets of the steering and braking control systems at various velocities and road conditions. Illustration examples show that, depending on the environments, different vehicle dynamic regions can be reached and stabilized by these controllers. The results can be applied to the theoretical basis of their interventions into the vehicle control system.

Opis:
In many applications of vibration technology, especially in chassis, air springs present a common alternative to steel spring concepts. A design-independent and therefore universal approach is presented to describe the dynamic characteristic of such springs. Differential and constitutive equations based on energy balances of the enclosed volume and the mountings are given to describe the nonlinear and dynamic characteristics. Therefore all parameters can be estimated directly from physical and geometrical properties, without parameter fitting. The numerically solved equations fit very well to measurements of a passenger car air spring. In a second step a simplification of this model leads to a pure mechanical equation. While in principle the same parameters are used, just an empirical correction of the effective heat transfer coefficient is needed to handle some simplification on this topic. Finally, a linearization of this equation leads to an analogous mechanical model that can be assembled from two common spring- and one dashpot elements in a specific arrangement. This transfer into ”mechanical language” enables a system description with a simple force-displacement law and a consideration of the nonobvious hysteresis and stiffness increase of an air spring from a mechanical point of view.

This paper extends the RRT* algorithm, a recently developed but widely used sampling based optimal motion planner, in order to effectively handle nonlinear kinodynamic constraints. Nonlinearity in kinodynamic differential constraints often leads to difficulties in choosing an appropriate distance metric and in computing optimized trajectory segments in tree construction. To tackle these two difficulties, this work adopts the affine quadratic regulator-based pseudo-metric as the distance measure and utilizes iterative two-point boundary value problem solvers to compute the optimized segments. The proposed extension then preserves the inherent asymptotic optimality of the RRT* framework, while efficiently handling a variety of kinodynamic constraints. Three numerical case studies validate the applicability of the proposed method.

We also review and extend some of the existing results concerning β-transformations and (expanding) Lorenz mappings. Then we apply them for deducing important properties of spike-trains generated by the CNV model and explain their implications for neuron behaviour. In particular, using recent theorems of rotation theory for Lorenz-like maps, we provide a classification of periodic spiking patterns in this model.

In the present study the notion of watershed contour dynamics, defined within the framework of mathematical morphology, is examined. It is shown that the dynamics are a direct measure of the 'sharpness' of transition between neighboring watershed basins. The expressions for the expected value and the statistical error of the estimation of contour dynamics are derived in the presence of noise, based on extreme value theory. The sensitivity of contour dynamics to noise is studied. A statistical approach to the notion of contour dynamics is developed and a definition of statistical dynamics is proposed.
