gender sterotypes - Opis:
- Nursing is a greatly feminised profession, especially in Poland. Low salaries are one of the reasons for the deficiency of nursing staff. Nursing is mainly associated with unprofessional housework that women traditionally performed free of charge. In addition, the necessity to enrol in higher education and the work environment discourage those who want to pursue studies in this profession. Increasing the number of men in nursing may improve this situation. For this purpose, the profession should be actively promoted to young people, thus breaking gender stereotypes. The reason for reluctance of men to join the nursing profession is discussed in the article.
