    Opis:
    The article formulates the need for studying the problem of hate speech, which is a form of discrimination, in sociolinguistics. The author describes the experience of studying discrimination in Western science (interdisciplinary approach) as well as aspects of formulating the notion in international and Ukrainian legislation. The paper also tracks the linguistic principles involved in examining the problem. The prospects for further research consist in the unification of category content and the meanings of the terms discrimination, discourse discrimination and hate speech in sociolinguistics with the purpose of applying these categories as tools for analysing the language situation in Ukraine.

    The purpose of this article is to defi ne the features of discrimination against the Romani people in Ukrainian online newspapers on the example of one newsbreak. The necessity of such work was entailed by a frequent use of hate speech and discrimination of the Romani community in Ukraine. Special attention is paid to methods of the media manipulation and their implementation. Some representative feedback under the articles has also been considered. Consideration of the online newspapers in terms of hate speech and ethnic stereotypes functioning can be an eff ective way to formulate linguistic expertise criteria and implementation of language of tolerance.

    The author reveals the existance of such kind of hate speech as lооkism in the Ukrainian language. For these purposes the data of lexicographical sources has been analyzed. Diff erent manifestations of lookism in the Ukrainian language system have been described, among them: the lexemes and idioms (including proverbs and sayings) that name the peculiarities of a person’s appearance and have axiological connotative components in their meanings. Special attention has been paid to the usage labels and examples given in the defi nitions from dictionaries. Besides, the author emphasizes the importance of dictionaries as a means of fi xation, preservation and transmission of social values, including the discriminatory attitudes.

    Mowa nienawiści i polityka tożsamości. Perspektywa komunikowania między kulturowego Mowa nienawiści na stałe wpisała się we współczesny dyskurs polityczny. Co więcej, doprowadziła do zmiany samej struktury komunikowania. Dzięki mediom społecznościowym, mowa nienawiści przedostała się do sfery publicznej, gdzie łączy użytkowników za pośrednictwem różnego rodzaju akcji społecznościowych, co z kolei pozwala jej na konstruowanie i dekonstruowanie tożsamości. W konsekwencji, mowa nienawiści podważa same fundamenty społeczeństwa wielokulturowego. Tymczasem, powodzenie takiego społeczeństwa zależy od jego zdolności do zaangażowania po-szczególnych jednostek do dialogu międzykulturowego. Z kolei mowa nienawiści wyrzuca poza nawias społeczeństwa wszystkie głosy sprzeciwu, pogłębiając tym samym polityczną polaryzację. Artykuł przedstawia zatem innowacyjną i szeroką analizę mowy nienawiści z perspektywy komunikowania międzykulturowego. Posiłkując się dostępnymi badaniami i literaturą przedmiotu, Autor stawia tezę, iż mowa nienawiści, jako komunikacyjny fenomen, nie tylko zakłóca dialog międzykulturowy, ale także prowadzi do dezintegracji społeczeństwa wielokulturowego.

    Opis:
    The article critically analyses political power in Poland. Two charges are formulated against the authorities: 1. lack of rational economic policy, 2. deliberate sparking of hostility and division in the society. These deliberately destructive divisions are accompanied by manipulation of facts, hypocrisy over the past and incitement of hostility on the basis of political, moral and other differences. A bizarre example of the aberration of the country’s political authorities is establishing “LGBT-free zones”. The article presents threats resulting from the introduction of a failed reform of the educational system. This includes the reduction of protective, medical and social functions of the school, and the commercialization of extracurricular activities, thereby increasing educational inequalities. The article sheds a critical light on employment policy, employee protection and working conditions. The scandalous neglect in this respect has led to the highest economic emigration in recent decades, including that of young people. A separate area of criticism is the scandalous neglect of ecology, lack of concern for renewable energy sources, growing exclusion of communication and growing income inequalities, which puts Poland in the group of countries with the highest social stratification rates.
