    Opis:
    The author describes various logical and linguistic oppositions which influence the choice between a perfective and imperfective verb, verb prefixes and aspectual classes. The description of events and the narrative are considered the main functions of the perfective aspect. The use of the imperfective aspect in legal texts, such as criminal-law codes, is also discussed in the work.
    Autor opisuje różne opozycje logiczne i językowe mające wpływ na wybór między czasownikiem dokonanym a niedokonanym, prefiksy czasownikowe oraz klasy akcjonalne sytuacji. Za podstawową funkcję aspektu dokonanego uznaje się wyrażanie zdarzeniowości oraz budowanie narracji w tekście. Autor podaje dane frekwencyjne czasowników niedokonanych i dokonanych w poszczególnych formach gramatycznych i interpretuje je zgodnie z przedstawioną teorią. Wśród form zawartych w książce są konstrukcje nieopisane do tej pory w polskich podręcznikach gramatyki, np. quasi-perfekt (konstrukcja typu mam zrobione). Odrębnie omawia użycie aspektu niedokonanego w języku prawnym, w tym w kodeksie karnym, wyjątkowe na tle innych języków słowiańskich. W podsumowaniu proponuje algorytm użycia aspektu w polszczyźnie. Dodatek zawiera zarys historii aspektologii, opis aspektu w polskich słownikach oraz nowe propozycje znakowania tej kategorii w korpusach.

    Opis:
    The spread of mandatory military service for all citizens in II Rzeczypospolita caused the rapid growth of representatives of national minority in the army, Ukrainians in particular, who were often indifferent or sometimes even hostile to the country. One of the main reasons for indifference or hostile from Ukrainians was the events of Polish-Ukrainian war 1918–1919, the fight for Lviv, the defeat of ZUNR (West Ukrainian People’s Republic), in which Poland was considered to be guilty. At the same time the level of national and civil consciousness of many Poles was low enough. Taking all that into consideration, military and political authorities realized the necessity of organizing some educational activities for recruits. In the army there were some regular educational lectures with tendentiously chosen historical examples, whose aim was to smooth tensions in bilateral relations, to integrate Ukrainians into society, to bring up the sense of patriotism to Motherland, country of residence and finally to assimilate. To reach this aim, excursions, theatres and cinemas were also used for this reason.

    The article presents an outline of the history of institution called University Public Lectures, which functioned at the University of Warsaw during the interwar period, starting from the year 1922. The task of the institution was to organise, on a regular basis, open lectures in order to reach a wide audience from outside the academic community. The large number of lecturers recruited from among the most eminent professors of the University of Warsaw, specialising in various fields of academic research, ensured the high substantive level of the organised lectures. The organisation of the lectures constituted one of the ways in which the University of Warsaw was carrying out its task of promoting scientific knowledge and presenting the results of the most recent scientific research to the general public. Due to the aim of the lectures, their subject matter was quite diverse and often centered around the recent problems of the Polish community and state. Although the idea of open lectures was not novel at the time, University Public Lectures contributed to the adult education provided by the University of Warsaw.

    Tematem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy i dlaczego spośród wzorów postaw romantycznych poetów Norwid wybrał wariant Juliusza Słowackiego. Dlaczego Mickiewiczowi i Krasińskiemu zarzucił historiozoficzne kłamstwo, a u Słowackiego odnalazł prawdę? Takie opinie zostały sformułowane w Norwidowskich odczytach O Juliuszu Słowackim, przede wszystkim w zawartej tam interpretacji Anhellego. Semantyczna analiza fragmentów lekcji o Słowackim pozwoliła wskazać w konkluzji estetyczne, egzystencjalne i historiozoficzne powody takiego wyboru.
    The subject of the article is an attempt to answer the question whether and why Cyprian Norwid chose Juliusz Słowacki’s variant from among the attitudes of Romantic poets. Why did he accuse Mickiewicz and Krasiński of a historiosophical lie, while finding the truth in Słowacki’s work? Such opinions were formulated in Norwid’s series of lectures titled “O Juliuszu Słowackim” [“About Juliusz Słowacki”], especially in his interpretation of Anhelli [Anhelli] included there. Semantic analysis of fragments of the lectures about Słowacki allow us to indicate in conclusion the aesthetic, existential, and historiosophical reasons for such a choice.
