Opis:
The acquisition in 2015 of power in Poland by national-conservative party Law and Justice led to a change in priorities of Polish foreign policy. The Intermarium initiative understood as a closer cooperation of the eastern European Union states between the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea became a new instrument of Polish foreign policy. For historical reasons, the initiative of the Intermarium is associated with a similar concept, pushed through Poland in the 1920s, which was focused to create an alliance of Central European countries aimed at more effective protection against Russian expansion and German hegemony. In this context, the article aims to find the answer, how the Polish Intermarium initiative is a subject of public debate in Germany and how it affects foreign policy pursued by Germany.

Opis:
In the face of changes taking place in the global order and challenges in the immediate vicinity of the European Union, the member states are forced to redefine their own security priorities. The directions of the desired changes in the EU Common Security and Defense Policy have been the subject of numerous discussions and analyses. One of the key countries that have a significant impact on the architecture of European security is Germany. That is why the main goal of the article is to answer the question about the role and importance of Germany in shaping the European Union’s security policy. The main conclusion resulting from the conducted analysis is the following: in the field of security policy, Germany’s attitude is characterized by high ambivalence between the implementation of foreign policy goals by means of the so-called soft instruments and the necessity and inevitability of increasing its own military involvement. The resolution of this dilemma is fundamental to the future architecture of the Common Security and Defense Policy.

Opis:
The Artificial Intelligence is one of the key technologies of the 21st century. Numerous countries conduct advanced research on Artificial Intelligence, in which they see the possibility of gaining technological advantage over other countries. Global leaders in research and development of Artificial Intelligence are the United States and China. Also single European countries have ambitions to play a significant role in the creation and development of this technology. As the largest European Union country, Germany published at the end of 2018 the Strategy of Artificial Intelligence of the Federal Government, which defines a number of objectives to implement and guidelines necessary to create from Germany a global center of Artificial Intelligence. In this context, the purpose of this article is to answer the question of whether Germany has a chance to become a leading European and world center for research and development on Artificial Intelligence.
