Opis:
“GENRE MEMORY” AND ITS METAMORPHOSIS IN A LITERARY TALE BY A.A. MILNEThe nucleus of Milne’s literary tale dilogy (Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at the Pooh Corner) is an archaic folklore-mythological spatio-temporal structure and its specific subject realization that have proved capable of development, metamorphosis, synthesis with other deep structures and have led to the formation of literary genres of a neo-mythological character – literary tale, story and fantasy. In Milne’s tales there is no traditional struggle between Good and Evil, there are practically no “miraculous” objects and magical powers. The action is not based on the confrontation between the two sides, representing different moral principles (as in a traditional fairy tale), but involves the transition of the hero, Christopher Robin, from the world of childhood to the adult world, acquiring a higher social status, the development of abilities and skills of various characters to solve different life problems, first at the level of choice of options from the accumulated empirical experience, and then at the level of abstraction from real specifics to the skills of logical analysis and mastering written speech and the basics of mathematics. This results in the acquisition of a new level of knowledge and the development of a new way of understanding of the world (the creation of the cosmos from chaos).

Opis:
Belarusian taleThe article considers the character of the incomer as a constituent part of the ethnic self-image of the nation. The story is about the image of Jew as seen with eyes of Belarusian peasantry as imprinted in tales collected by folklorists on the verge of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is represented by „the Mine Foreigner” living in the same life and financial conditions as a Belarusian peasant, from one point, and different form a Belarusian due to another ethnic and confessional membership and the relevant customs, from another point. The character of Jew in Belarusian tale is defined through binary oppositions mine vs. foreigner, wealth vs. poverty, cunning vs. naivete, etc. Cultural necessity of foreigner inside his/her own nation is defined by two functions, the function of comparison (and relevant specification of own identity) and function of complementarity as soon as he/she posesses skills that aboriginals do not posess. Differences between the Mine Foreigner vs. Foreign or Another characters are stated.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to answer the question as to how to make a child reader interested in and focusing attention on reading. According to Jerzy Cieślikowski and many other researchers, children’s literature has its own rules, poetics of genres, and specific communications circuit: publishing houses, the market, the press, and criticism. Dorota Masłowska employed the form of a literary fairy tale to reach out to a young audience. Usingthe conventions of this genre, she described one of the most painful problems of modern times – excessive consumerism, in which modern man completely loses himself.

Opis:
This article reviews the placing in Tale’s text history of three records of The Tale on the Origin of Tobacco from the collection entitled Pandok stored in Saint Petersburg archives which were not analyzed earlier: BAN, Lukyanov collection, No. 107 (XVIII c.); NLR, collection of Kolobov, No. 334 (XVIII c.), and IRLI, Severodvinsk collection, No. 29 (XIX c.). The author demonstrates that the Lukyanov record and the Kolobov record belong to type I of the Tale’s main revision by the Institute of Russian Literature, and the record of the Severodvinsk collection combined the patterns of type I and type II. Textual analysis helped to identify the records of type I and type II ex-amined earlier by the author which were most similar to the text of three Tale’s records analyzed in this article.

Opis:
The paper considers male and female images in the Yakut fairy tales as a component of cultural programming of gender behavior in a tribal society. The analysis of the Yakut fairy tales reveals that the main male characters whole being integral are represented as a rule by three types – in the image of heroes, hunters and poor men. Female images are more diverse, among them there are girls of the Upper World and udagans (shaman women), endowed with magical powers and the gift of transformation; girls of the Middle World, who can be both passive and active characters; the third group of female images is represented by old women, who are often embodied in the collective image of the old woman Simekhsin. The results of the analysis suggest that the masculine images correspond to the stereotypical male behavior patterns in the patriarchate society, while the feminine images may deviate from the accepted gender stereotypes for various reasons.
