Opis:: In the Russian linguistic image of the world the concepts of MOSCOW and THE PROVINCES constitute an opposition since they are placed on two distant valuerelated poles. It seems that in the linguistic awareness there is no rich modern Moscow in separation from the backwards, poor and civilizationally and mentally neglected provinces characterised by parochialism. The characteristic features of both concepts are most clearly visible in their juxtaposition, and without it they lose their meaning. This is a specific relationship which has not been observed in other antonymous pairs of concepts such as good and evil, or wealth and poverty.

Opis:: The present article contains a trial of setting in order, terms connected with world’s representation notion for example: language, cultural, ethnical or conceptual world’s view notion, conceptosphere, but are also defined in various ways by research workers, who took up research of mutual language, culture, ethos, and national mentality connection. To this end the author of the article has used the term of concept, mainly because of the fact, that it shows the structure of world’s representation. The general hierarchy and correlation of examined terms, were described in opened schema, which can be refilled with other terms like: notional, universal, cognitive the world’s view.

Opis:: Emotions and feelings, which determine mental experiences and activities of individuals, find their reflection in literary works. Love manifests itself externally as a behaviour of an individual, including the language he or she uses to communicate. The article constitutes an attempt to present the linguistic image of the world embodied in a Polish translation from Russian. For that purpose the research material was excerpted from Crime and Punishment, a novel by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
