Opis:
Introduction. Kidney cancer in the structure of registered cases was in 6th place in men and 8th in women. Aim. Understanding the molecular biology of renal cell carcinoma has made it possible to produce new diagnostic methods. Material and methods. This review was performed according to a systematic literature search. Results. Minimally invasive techniques seem to have a bright future in kidney cancer. However, they still require many clinical trials before they enter the general clinical use. Conclusion. Photodynamic therapy, thanks to research conducted in kidney cancer, will find application in cancer of other organs.

Opis:
Introduction and aim. Multiple primary tumors are defined as having more than one primary tumor in a different organ location in the same person. Therefore, it is important to know pathogenesis of multiple primary neoplasms to discover new forms of primary prevention and secondary prevention, especially connected with genetic tests which are important for the future of medicine as a part of personalized medicine. The aim of the study is to present selected aspects of the pathogenesis of multiple primary neoplasms. Material and methods. PubMed databases and Google Scholar were searched. Analysis of the literature. The rising risk of developing multiple primary cancers is a consequence of the progressive growth and ageing of the population and development of cancer in patients previously treated for cancer. The formation of secondary neoplasms may be multifactorial – to a large extent it is associated with genetic factors that may facilitate neoplastic transformation, for example as a result of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, inherited syndromes, environmental factors such as tobacco or alcohol, sometimes random somatic mutations. Conclusion. Knowledge of the pathogenesis of multiple primary tumors can contribute to a better understanding of the problem, as well as help in the prevention or early diagnosis of multiple primary tumors (primary and secondary prevention)

Opis:
Introduction and aim. Multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumor (MVNT) of the cerebrum is a rare benign, mixed glial/ neuronal lesion which has been included in the recent (2016) World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of the central nervous system tumors. Most of the reported cases are remarkable with adult onset seizure in the literature. They can also be found incidentally in nonepilepsy patients with or without headache We aimed to present this unique entity with its typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features. Description of the case. A 21-year old man presented with complaint of headache that increased in frequency within the last few months. No relevant seizure or any other signs of note.He was diagnosed with MVNT by imaging andstarted to be followed-up.The repeat MRI 6 months later showed no interval changes. Conclusion. Clinicians should be aware of that it is a do not touch lesion in asymptomatic patients with no need for biopsy or surgery and follow up imaging is sufficient when presented with the typical MRI manifestations. Surgical resection may be required for seizure control and was reported in few cases with no tumoral regrowth in the literature.
