    Opis:
    Estimation of adversary air force is continuously made during planning process and execution phase and has influence on decisions made. In the article, the author considers the usefulness of geopolitics as a perspective for conducting estimation of adversary air force. Pointing to the informational value of geopolitical thoughts, he shows its usefulness as a source of a number of important data about not only the environment, but also potential political actors and their goals. The most important conclusions from the considerations are that use of geopolitical perspective to estimate adversary air force gives an opportunity to save time and to improve situational awareness at all levels of air force command structure.

    The article presents the concept of classical Eurasianism developed by Russian intellectuals in exile in the 1920s and 1930s. The author analyzes from the point of view of geosophy taken as a study of how people perceive geographical space. Eurasians in their works gave the geographical concepts legendary and mythical features. On the Eurasian mental map, the center of the world is Russia- -Eurasia contrasted with peripheral Europe, which is a hotbed of decay.
    W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję klasycznego euroazjatyzmu, wypracowaną przez intelektualistów rosyjskich na emigracji w latach 20. i 30. Autor dokonuje analizy z punktu widzenia geosofii traktowanej jako badanie sposobu, w jaki ludzie postrzegają przestrzeń geograficzną. Eurazjaci w swoich pracach nadali pojęciom pierwotnie geograficznym cechy legendarne i mityczne. Na euroazjatyckiej mapie mentalnej centrum świata to Rosja-Eurazja, przeciwstawiona peryferyjnej Europie, będącej siedliskiem rozkładu.

    Polityka bezpieczeństwa prowadzona przez Polskę wobec swoich sąsiadów, jej kierunki, zakres i możliwości są determinowane sytuacją geopolityczną. Nasz kraj jako pełnoprawny członek Unii Europejskiej w swoich decyzjach zobligowany jest do kierowania się interesem wspólnoty do której należy, a także interesem własnym – polską racją stanu. Podejmując zagadnienie kierunków polityki bezpieczeństwa prowadzonej przez Rząd Rzeczypospolitej wobec Białorusi nie sposób pominąć siły wpływów Rosji. Współzależność geopolityczna, militarna, kulturowa i religijna czynią te kraje bardzo bliskimi sojusznikami. Władze naszego kraju formułując kierunki polskiej polityki zagranicznej uwzględniają również fakt przemian, jakie dokonały się w ostatnich latach w białoruskiej polityce wewnętrznej i zagranicznej. Dlatego ważnym kontekstem jest sytuacja opozycji białoruskiej, wśród której znajduje się również mniejszość polska. Relacje Polski z Białorusią w sferze bezpieczeństwa powinny uwzględniać zarówno potencjalne zagrożenie militarne, jak i gospodarcze, w tym również energetyczne. Szanując integralność Białorusi, tożsamość jej obywateli, Polska powinna przyczyniać się do demokratyzowania życia wewnętrznego, poszanowania praw i wolności człowieka przez władze Białorusi przy zachowaniu dobrosąsiedzkich stosunków.
    Security policy carried out by Poland towards its neighbors, the scope, directions and possibilities are determined by the geo-political situation. Our country as a full European Union’s Member State is obliged in its decisions to be guided by the interest of the community that it belongs to, as well as its own interest – the Polish reason of state. Dealing with the issue of security policy directions set by the Republic of Poland, one cannot omit the power of Russia’s influence. Geo-political, military, cultural and religious correlations make these countries close allies. Forming Polish foreign policy directions, our authorities take also into consideration the changes that have taken place recently in Byelorussian internal and foreign policies. Therefore the situation of Byelorussian opposition, the Polish minority including, is an important context. The relations between Poland and Byelorussia should involve potential military and economic threat, energy including. Respecting Byelorussia’s integrity, its citizens’ identity, Poland should contribute to internal life democracy, complying with human rights and freedom by Byelorussian authorities while keeping good neighborly relations.

    The article discusses major threats that the Western society has hadto deal with after the end of the Cold War. This issue seems to be of particularconcern due to the fact that nowadays certain new trends in the world of geopolitics can be observed. Due to the change in the global balance of power afterthe year 1991, the role of the main geostrategic actors has also changed whilenew actors have begun to appear. Among the new challenges for the geostrategic position of the West there are the military ambitions of the Russian Federation and the economic hegemonic aspirations of China. Other threats includeterrorism, mass migration, transnational organized crime, infectious diseases,and environmental degradation.
    W artykule omówiono niektóre z głównych zagrożeń, z którymi musisię zmierzyć społeczeństwo krajów Zachodu po zakończeniu zimnej wojny. Wydaje się, że kwestia ta budzi szczególne zaniepokojenie ze względu na to, iżobecnie obserwuje się pewne nowe trendy w światowej geopolityce. W związku ztransformacją globalnego układu sił po 1991 r. zmieniła się także rola głównychaktorów geostrategicznych i zaczęli pojawiać się nowi aktorzy. Wśród nowychwyzwań dla geostrategicznej pozycji Zachodu są ambicje militarne FederacjiRosyjskiej oraz hegemoniczne aspiracje gospodarcze Chin. Inne zagrożeniaobejmują terroryzm, masową migrację, międzynarodową przestępczość zorganizowaną, choroby zakaźne i degradację środowiska.

    This article is an interdisciplinary inquiry into the usage of historical silk routes by the Chinese as a popular narrative for the modern BRI. While looking at the archaeological trace, the historiography and other dimensions, this article would unfold how the nostalgia on the ‘Silk Routes’ have been rejuvenated for an ambitious geopolitical project. Taking both land and maritime silk routes into the consideration, this paper would further consider the position of historical narratives for the geopolitical ambitions of the 21st century.

    The Philippines and Iran are two important players in the geopolitical transition of Asian and the Pacific region. The geopolitical values that these two countries held over many decades exposes them to rivalries and competition among regional and international powers. In some part of history, they became a closed ally to the United States, while regime change in Iran in the late 1970s had created some sort of difficulty for both countries to improve bilateral relations amidst normalization. This paper therefore seeks to investigate existing domestic and external factors that can help explain the underdeveloped state of their bilateral relations. In doing so, the paper advances the idea that although the Philippines and Iran are sovereign and independent countries, the course and direction of their relation since the post-1979 event was heavily affected by the US policy vis-à-vis the Philippines and Iran.

    The purpose of this article is to indicate the relationship between geopolitics as an important factor in defining Russia’s policy (in terms of security and relations with foreign countries) and its activity for recognizing cyberspace as subject to state sovereignty. The concept of information geopolitics is subject to definition. An analysis of the catalog of factors determining the new dimension of Russian geopolitics, including cyberspace and information policy, is undertaken. The authors consider the importance of the cybernetic factor and the participation of information sovereignty in shaping the international image of the Russian Federation, to then diagnose their impact on the sphere of international security. The study will not discuss examples of Russian cyber attacks against third countries, but an attempt will be made to explain the determinants of broadly defined state activity in the information geospatial.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie ewolucji obszarów przygranicznych między Polską a obwodem kaliningradzkim w Federacji Rosyjskiej oraz wstępnej analizy społeczno-ekonomicznej pogranicza polsko-rosyjskiego w latach 1945-2022, która posłuży do dalszych dociekań naukowych. Granica ta na początku swojego funkcjonowania stanowiła zamknięty, a nawet wręcz wrogi obszar. Rozpad Związku Radzieckiego pozwolił na nawiązywanie i rozwijanie wzajemnych relacji. Ich apogeum stanowiło wprowadzenie w 2012 r. zasad małego ruchu granicznego. Pandemia, a później wojna w Ukrainie zmieniły granicę w trudną do przekroczenia barierę. To dla powiatów przygranicznych spore wyzwanie. Od początku przemian ustrojowych znajdują się w krajowej czołówce stopy bezrobocia, a granica przez dwadzieścia lat była motorem rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. Była też nieformalnym, ale największym zakładem pracy mieszkańców pogranicza. Zupełne zamknięcie granicy pokazało, jak jej otwartość była ważna dla mieszkańców polskiego i rosyjskiego pogranicza.
    The purpose of this article is to show the evolution of border areas between Poland and the Kaliningrad District and the initial socio-economic analysis of the Polish-Russian border in 1945-2022, which will be used for further scientific research. The Polish-Russian border at the beginning of its functioning was closed or even a hostile area. The breakup of the Soviet Union allowed to establish and develop mutual relations. Their apogee was the introduction of the principles of small border traffic in 2012. The pandemic and later the war in Ukraine changed the border into a barrier that is difficult to cross. This is a big challenge for border poviats. From the beginning of political changes, they have been at the national lead of the unemployment rate, and the border has been the driving force of socio-economic development for twenty years. It was also an informal, but the largest workplace of the borderland residents. The complete closure of the border showed how important its openness was for the inhabitants of the Polish and Russian borderland.
