    The growing position of the Polish yacht industry in international markets is the result of many years of innovative activity by enterprises in terms of product, process, organisation and marketing. The competitive advantage achieved has led to a gradual increase in domestic production, in the number of entities involved in construction, as well as in the production and sales of yachting equipment. The following study aims to define the determinants and prospects for the development of the Polish yacht industry against a background of market processes and socio-cultural phenomena. With further exploitation of the market niche, Polish producers can be competitive in international markets thanks to material, technology, design, project, organisation and marketing innovativeness. Having good brands, no need for relocation of production, a favourable price-quality ratio, but above all, the quality and quantity of the products allow for optimism concerning the production and sales of yachts in the future. It is also indicated by demand, including an increasing domestic component which significantly exceeds supply. Its fundamental determinant is the growing wealth level and the fashion for spending free time on the water, and this includes the fashion forwater houses.

    The aim of the work is to characterise cultural industries in Wrocław. In the first part of the work the diagnosis of culture industries was presented; the diagnosis was given for: publishing, music, film and television industries. The analysis was prepared based on statistical data, literature and information from representatives of the Wrocław culture. The author realised the aim of the article referring to the size, structure, quantity and the market position of analysed entities. Conclusions were aggregated using the SWOT analysis. Selected conclusions are as follows: (1) the development of film industry does not reflect the historical potential; new ideas and trends are more important, (2) influence of cultural industries on labour market in Wrocław is rather week, (3) the highest growth of new created entities is noticed in the media sector, including publishing of computer games.
    Celem artykułu jest określenie stanu rozwoju przemysłów kultury (rozumianych jako usługi w zakresie kultury) we Wrocławiu. W pierwszej części pracy sporządzono diagnozę przemysłów kultury z podziałem na: przemysł wydawniczy, muzyczny oraz filmowy i telewizyjny. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane statystyczne, literaturę przedmiotu oraz wywiady z przedstawicielami środowiska wrocławskiej kultury. Autorka odniosła się do wielkości analizowanych podmiotów, ich liczebności, struktury oraz pozycji na rynku. Zebrane wnioski usystematyzowano w postaci tabeli SWOT. Poniżej zaprezentowano wybrane konkluzje z przeprowadzonej analizy: (1) rozwój działalności filmowej dokonuje się w oparciu o nowe wyzwania i niejednokrotnie nie nawiązuje do ukształtowanego wcześniej potencjału i dorobku, (2) na podstawie danych zawartych w rejestrze REGON można stwierdzić, że oddziaływanie podmiotów z zakresu tradycyjnych przemysłów kultury na rynek pracy jest słabe, (3) największa dynamika liczby nowo zakładanych podmiotów cechuje sektor nowych mediów, w tym wydawnictw gier komputerowych

    Opis:
    SWOT analysis is among the most popular and most commonly used methods of strategic analysis for creation of document of different types from business plans to strategic plans and strategies. This tool has also gained popularity among territorial self-governments units preparing their strategic documents, including tourism development strategies. The hypothesis that this high popularity is followed by shallowing of its idea and popularisation of few important mistakes in conduction of the analysis is made in the paper. Those mistakes are: wrong interpretation of “opportunities”; no reflection on meaning of particular strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; no justification for appointing particular items; over-optimism and objective reflection missing. As the hypothesis implies only the fact that the mistakes are made from time to time and not that making them becomes a rule, it is enough to verify this hypothesis by appointing existence of stated mistakes in randomly chosen ten strategies of tourism development of ten Polish communities. The strategies were selected by typing the phrase: “strategia rozwoju turystyki w gminie” (community tourism development strategy) to bing.com search engine and selection of first ten records from the received list.
    Analiza SWOT należy do najpopularniejszych i najczęściej wykorzystywanych narzędzi analizy strategicznej stosowanych w przygotowywaniu rozmaitych dokumentów, począwszy od biznesplanów, aż po różnorodne plany i strategie. Narzędzie to zyskało także znaczną popularność wśród jednostek samorządu terytorialnego przygotowujących swoje dokumenty strategiczne, w tym strategie rozwoju turystyki. W artykule stawiana jest hipoteza, że rozpowszechnionych zostało kilka istotnych błędów w prowadzeniu analizy SWOT. Powszechność tych błędów może wynikać ze znacznej popularności i czasem nadużywania tej metody, prowadzących do jej spłycenia. Te błędy to: zła interpretacja pojęcia „szanse”; brak refleksji nad znaczeniem wskazanych sił, słabości, szans i zagrożeń; brak obiektywizmu i nadmierny optymizm poszczególnych stwierdzeń; brak szerszego uzasadnienia dla wskazanych sił, słabości, szans i zagrożeń. Ponieważ stawiana hipoteza zakłada jedynie fakt, że wskazane błędy bywają popełniane, a nie że ich popełnianie stało się normą, dlatego wystarczającą metodą jej weryfikacji jest wskazanie ich występowania w analizowanych 10 przypadkowo wybranych strategiach rozwoju turystyki gmin w Polsce. Strategie zostały wybrane poprzez wpisanie do wyszukiwarki bing.com frazy „strategia rozwoju turystyki w gminie” i wybór pierwszych dziesięciu rekordów z wyników wyszukiwania.

    The present study deals with the evaluation of the management of Veľká Fatra National Park and its comparison with three other selected national parks of the Visegrád Four: Bohemian Switzerland National Park (Czech Republic), Bieszczady National Park (Poland) and the Bükk National Park (Hungary). The information about Veľká Fatra National Park was acquired through a SWOT analysis. The weaknesses and threats found following the SWOT analysis were further evaluated by an analysis of the "force field" and a "problem analysis". The management applied in individual parks was evaluated through the expert system Integrated Protected Area Management (IPAM) with the aim to improve the present management. Another part of the examination is the evaluation of the environmental edification and of the consciousness of students of grammar schools and secondary schools, both in the region where the National Park is located and outside that region. The examination for this study was carried out between 2010-2014. A survey of the environmental consciousness and edification has been implemented in all surveyed countries and the tool of exploratory method was a questionnaire, which was distributed to 1301 respondents. The survey managed to confirm the assumption that in some areas the level of environmental consciousness of the target group is very low. This situation is justified by the fact that schools do not have a precise definition in what form and to what extent attention should be paid to this field.
