- The article entitled Self-study in Polish language teaching in view of challenges related to school reform and the opinions of eighth graders concerns the issue of self-education and the issues that emerged after the school reform introduced in September 2017. Particular attention was paid to the difficulties faced by teachers in the field of theoretical and practical preparation of students for the process of independent learning. The following were analysed in detail: a) the areas (both general and specific) noted in the compulsory educational documents; b) survey statements from 126 eighth grade students. The assumption was made that respondents have for a year followed the guidelines of The new general education curriculum for primary school, while they will, in June 2019, be the first graduates (taking the eighth-grade examination) of an eight-year primary school. The material acquired allows an assessment of the state of self education in Polish language teaching a year after the introduction of educational reform.
