    Entrepreneurship is an integral part of rural development contributing to activation, competitiveness and innovation. One manifestation of rural entrepreneurship is farmers associating into producer groups. The article aims to analyse the determinants of rural entrepreneurship and the functioning of integration processes in agriculture based on Poland’s example of agricultural producer groups. The paper presents the theoretical basis for developing collective entrepreneurship in rural areas and agricultural producer groups’ current state. The goals and motives for the operation of such producer groups and their benefits are presented. Their formation is the result of integration processes taking place in agriculture, both horizontal and vertical. This study is theoretical, based on the literature and the analysis of legal structures and desk research with secondary sources of information from the Agency for the Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture. The issues discussed constitute a starting point for further research.

    Jednym z priorytetów Unii Europejskiej jest gospodarka oparta na wiedzy i innowacji, a klastry są jej naturalnym obszarem występowania. Zasadniczym czynnikiem decydującym o poziomie innowacyjności gospodarki jest umiejętność współpracy poszczególnych podmiotów gospodarczych. Od lat 90. XX wieku niejednokrotnie wskazuje się, że niemal doskonałe warunki do rozwoju procesów innowacyjnych zapewniają klastry. Mogą odgrywać ważną rolę w generowaniu i przyspieszaniu procesów innowacyjnych oraz działać jako bieguny wzrostu dla gospodarki regionalnej, krajowej i międzynarodowej. Istotnym trendem w rozwoju inicjatyw klastrowych, nabierającym obecnie coraz większego znaczenia, jest dynamicznie postępująca ich internacjonalizacja. Znajduje ona odzwierciedlenie w dokumentach strategicznych i jest wspierana przez politykę gospodarczą. Celem artykułu jest próba wskazania współczesnych uwarunkowań rozwoju klastrów oraz przedstawienie procesów ich internacjonalizacji. W pracy uwypuklono koncepcje klastra i normy definicyjne, a także dorobek polityki wspierania klastrów, w tym ich internacjonalizacji. Wartością dodaną artykułu jest analiza znaczenia współpracy klastrowej dla umiędzynarodowienia przedsiębiorstw. W opracowaniu zobrazowano istniejące związki pomiędzy klasteringiem a internacjonalizacją. Do realizacji założonego celu posłużyła kwerenda literatury krajowej i zagranicznej z zakresu prezentowanej problematyki badawczej, jak też analiza wtórnych źródeł informacji. Podjęte w artykule zagadnienia mogą stanowić punkt wyjścia do dalszych pogłębionych badań.
    In the modern world, the economic development is created mainly by two factors: knowledge and innovation. The main tool of innovation support is a cluster. The basic factor determining the level of innovation in the economy is the ability to cooperate with individual business entities. Since the 1990s, it has been frequently emphasized that clusters provide almost perfect conditions for the development of innovative processes. They may play an important role in generating and accelerating innovation processes and act as growth poles for regional, national and international economy. An important trend in the development of cluster initiatives, which is now becoming more and more important, is their internationalisation which is dynamically progressing. Internationalisation of clusters is reflected in the strategic documents and is supported by the economic policy. The aim of the article is to indicate contemporary conditions for the development of innovative integration connections and to present the processes of internationalisation of clusters. The study presents the concepts of the cluster and definition standards, as well as the achievements of the policy of supporting clusters, including their internationalisation. The added value of the article is the analysis of the importance of cluster cooperation for the internationalisation of enterprises. The study illustrates the existing relationships between clustering and internationalisation. To achieve the goal, a query of domestic and foreign literature in the field of research issues, as well as analysis of secondary sources of information were used. The issues discussed in the article may constitute a starting point for further in-depth research.
