    The article endeavours to give a bird’s eye view of catechesis in Italy as from 1870 to the threshold of Vatican Council II – 1962. The point of departure is a study of the use of the Catechism as the handbook for catechesis. The study will then move on study the efforts of individuals – from priests to Pope Pius X – who sought to positively influence catechesis through their ministry and how different Congresses and Conventions helped in trying to formulate a more coherent catechesis throughout Italy. Finally, the paper will end by a study of the Active Method which was to be the unifying factor for catechesis in Italy prior to Vatican Council II.

    Treścią artykułu jest analiza ikonograficzno-teologiczna ikony Trójcy Świętej, napisanej przez Andrzeja Rublowa. Według Katechizmu Kościoła prawosławnego istnieje ścisła analogia w przedstawieniu Trójcy Świętej na ikonie a prawdami wiary wyrażonymi w Credo. Idąc tym tropem, w artykule zanalizowano poszczególne elementy ikony, takie jak: przedstawienie postaci aniołów, które odpowiadają poszczególnym osobom Trójcy Świętej; postawy, jakie zajmują wzajemnie wobec siebie; a także przedmioty, które im towarzyszom. We wszystkich tych elementach można odczytać ikonograficzne przedstawienie podstawowych prawdy wiary chrześcijańskiej w odniesieniu do tajemnicy Boga, Jego dzieła zbawczego w historii świata, a także w odniesieniu do relacji człowieka z Bogiem, który wchodząc w owe tajemnice poprzez kontemplację, otwiera się na dar przebóstwienia.
    The content of the article is an iconographic and theological analysis of the icon of the Holy Trinity, written by Andriej Rublev. According to the Catechism of the Orthodox Church, there is a close analogy between the representation of the Holy Trinity in the icon and the truths of faith expressed in the Creed. Following this lead, the article analyzes the individual elements of the icon, such as the representation of the figures of angels that correspond to the individual persons of the Holy Trinity, the attitudes they take towards each other, as well as the objects that accompany them. In all these elements, one can read the iconographic representation of the basic truths of the Christian faith in relation to the mystery of God, His saving work in the history of the world, as well as in relation to the relationship of man with God, who, entering these mysteries through contemplation, opens up to the gift deification.

    This article aims to show the other (different from the mission or parish retreats) forms of preaching of the word of God adapted to the local needs, which should be organised by the parish priests in accordance with the decision of the diocesan Bishop.The first part of the article shows various forms of preaching of the word of God in the parish.The second part points out the sources and content of “other forms of preaching” of the word of God. The third part examines important types of “other forms of preaching” in the parish.
    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie innych (różnych od misji czy rekolekcji parafialnych) form przepowiadania słowa Bożego, dostosowanych do miejscowych potrzeb, które proboszczowie winni organizować zgodnie z zarządzeniem biskupa diecezjalnego.W jego pierwszej części przedstawiono różne formy przepowiadania słowa Bożego w parafii.W drugiej części wskazano na źródła i treść „innych form przepowiadania” słowa Bożego, natomiast część trzecia została poświęcona ważniejszym rodzajom „innych form przepowiadania” parafialnego.

    The article is to illustrate the development of this important part of the Canon law and catholic teaching in the universal Church and in Poland.The first part outlines the history of this catechetical formulation of basic catholic obligations, from the time of the Council of Trent until mid 20th century, including the perspective of the Church in Poland. Fundamental issues, namely the obligation of celebrating Sunday, Easter duty or the fasting precept, have been the same throughout the catholic world, even though their specific wording evolved depending on time and place.The second part touches upon the formulation of the commandements of the Church in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This fundamental document of the catholic doctrine was first published in French in 1992, while its revised version in Latin was promulgated in 1997. Finally, in 2005 there was issued Compedium of the Catechism. The article contains an analysis of exact wording of the Church precepts in all above mentioned editions of the catechism. The matter is of great importance, since the it refers to the first official and universal formulation of the precepts.The third part deals with the Polish version of the commandements, promulgated by the Polish Episcopal Conference in 2003. Polish bishops took advantage of their right to adjust the universal text to specific needs of particular Church. With approval of the Holy See, the Polish pastors dispensed from certain feasts of precept and introduced the obligation to abstain from dances during Lent and on Fridays throughout the year. In the 2014 revised version the latter ban was lifted and since then only Lent has been the period of party abstinence.Not only does the article highlight the correlation between canon law and pastoral practice of the Church, but refers to the role of implementation of the universal law in the life of particular Churches.
    L’articolo espone lo sviluppo di una parte importante del diritto canonico e dell’insegnamento cattolico nella Chiesa universale e in quella presente in Polonia.Nella prima parte viene descritta la storia delle formule catechistiche riguardanti i principali obblighi del fedele dal tempo del Concilio di Trento fino alla metà del ventesimo secolo, prendendo in considerazione la prospettiva della Chiesa cattolica in Polonia. Le indicazioni fondamentali – l’obbligo di festeggiare la domenica, il precetto della confessione e della comunione pasquale, le esigenze circa il digiuno – sono presenti in tutto il mondo cattolico, anche se le specifiche condizioni del tempo e del luogo hanno influenzato la loro forma concreta.Nella seconda parte è dibattuto il problema dei precetti ecclesiali nel Catechismo della Chiesa Cattolica. Questo documento fondamentale fu pubblicato per la prima volta in lingua francese nel 1992. Dopo molte correzioni, nel 1997 è stata presentata l’editio tipica in lingua latina. Infine nel 2005 papa Benedetto XVI ha ordinato la pubblicazione del Compedio del Catechismo della Chiesa Cattolica. Nell’articolo vengono analizzate le formule dei precetti ecclesiali in tutte e tre le versioni del catechismo. Va notato che, malgrado 500 anni di storia della propagazione dei precetti della Chiesa, solo adesso sono stati formulati come vincolanti in tutta la Chiesa universale.La terza parte verte sulla versione polacca dei precetti della Chiesa, promulgata dalla Conferenza Episcopale Polacca nel 2003 e riformata nel 2014. I vescovi polacchi hanno approfittato della possibilità di accomodare il testo dei precetti agli specifici bisogni e aspettative delle Chiese particolari. Con il consenso della Sede Apostolica, i pastori della Chiesa cattolica in Polonia hanno esonerato i fedeli dall’obbligo di festeggiare alcuni giorni festivi, ma nello stesso tempo hanno confermato la proibizione di partecipare ai divertimenti durante la Quaresima, ampliandola anche a tutti i venerdì dell’anno. Nel 2014 fu introdotto l’ultimo cambiamento nel testo dei precetti, con la decisione di lasciare la proibizione dei divertimenti solamente nel tempo di Quaresima.In conformità con il suo titolo, l’articolo espone il profondo legame tra il diritto e la pastorale, ma anche la relazione tra il diritto universale e il suo adattamento nel diritto particolare.

    The Church made assisting the poor and needy an important part of its mission, as a response to an explicit command to enact the commandment to love one’s neighbor given by Christ. The obligation to show an active love of neighbor is expressed in the catechism formula of works of mercy toward the body and soul. The article analyzes both the genesis of this formula, as well as its historical interpretation over the centuries.The corporal works of mercy have been clearly stated by Christ Himself in the context of the teaching of the last judgment recorded in the Gospel of Matthew 25:31–40, however the spiritual works of mercy find their biblical justification in different places of the Gospels. In III century Origen in the spirit of allegorical exegesis interpreted the works of mercy mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew also as a call to help in the spiritual needs of man, and after him St. Augustine in the West. In this way, gradually the list of seven works of mercy concerning the soul was established.St. Thomas Aquinas gave us the classical moral interpretation of the acts of mercy, establishing the conditions under which they are a strict moral obligation. I the later period in the practice of charity stressed the elements such as: a personal experience of God’s mercy as a call to help others (St. Faustina), valuing man in his dignity (St. John Paul II) and recentely a concern for people excluded or deprived of opportunities of self-development (Pope Francis).
    Wspomaganie biednych i potrzebujących uczynił Kościół ważnym elementem swojego posłannictwa, jako odpowiedź na wyraźny nakaz realizacji przykazania miłości bliźniego dany przez Chrystusa. Obowiązek okazywania czynnej miłości bliźniemu został wyrażony w katechizmowej formule uczynków miłosierdzia co do ciała i co do duszy. Artykuł analizuje zarówno genezę powstania tej formuły, jak również jej historyczną interpretację na przestrzeni wieków.Uczynki miłosierdzia co do ciała zostały wyraźnie sformułowane przez samego Chrystusa w kontekście nauki o sądzie ostatecznym, zapisanej w Ewangelii św. Mateusza 25, 31–40, natomiast uczynki co do duszy znajdują swoje biblijne uzasadnienie w różnych miejscach Ewangelii. W III wieku Orygenes w duchu egzegezy alegorycznej interpretował uczynki miłosierdzia wymienione w Ewangelii Mateusza także jako wezwanie do pomocy w duchowych potrzebach człowieka, a za nim na Zachodzie czynił tak św. Augustyn. W ten sposób stopniowo rodziła się lista siedmiu uczynków co do duszy.Klasyczną interpretację moralną uczynków miłosierdzia podał św. Tomasz z Akwinu, ustalając, w jakich warunkach są one ścisłą powinnością moralną. W późniejszym okresie w praktykowaniu miłosierdzia podkreślano takie elementy jak: osobiste doświadczenie Bożego miłosierdzia jako wezwanie do pomocy innym (św. Faustyna), dowartościowanie człowieka w jego godności (św. Jan Paweł II) oraz w ostatnim czasie troska o ludzi wykluczonych, czyli pozbawionych możliwości własnego rozwoju (papież Franciszek).

    Angesichts der Pilgerschaft als religiösem Phänomen in den drei große monotheistischen Religionen geht die Autorin der Pilgerkritik in den Schriften der frühen Kirchenväter nach. Die dort nachweisliche Verschiebung von der äußeren zur inneren Wallfahrt lässt sich heute wieder im Katechismus der Katholischen Kirche feststellen. Von dort aus werden Konsequenzen für die pastorale Begleitung von Pilgern diskutiert hinsichtlich der Wallfahrtsmotivation, dem heiligen Ort, den Überschritt von der äußeren zur inneren Wallfahrt wie auch ökumenischen Aspekten.
    According to the religious phenomenon of pilgrimage in the monotheistic religions the author references to the criticism of pilgrimage in the early church fathers. Their shifting of the focal point from the extern to an interior pilgrimage can also be considered today in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. From there consequences concerning the motivation to Christian pilgrimage, the locus sacer, the transitus from extern to interior pilgrimage as well as ecumenical aspects are discussed for the pastoral accompaniment of pilgrims.
    Autorka prezentuje krytykę zjawiska pielgrzymowania w monoteistycznych religiach podejmowaną przez wczesnych ojców Kościoła. Jej wielostronne podejście do centralnego zagadnienia, obejmujące zarówno zewnętrzne, jak i wewnętrzne aspekty problemu, poddano refleksji w świetle Katechizmu Kościoła katolickiego. Wychodząc od kwestii motywacji pielgrzymowania, zagadnień odnoszących się do miejsc świętych jako celu pielgrzymowania, zjawiska ewoluowania świadomości pielgrzymów (od pielgrzymowania fizycznego ku duchowemu), jak też aspektów ekumenicznych, artykuł omawia problemy duszpasterstwa pielgrzymkowego.
