Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest ocena osoby i pontyfikatu św. Jana Pawła II z racji setnej rocznicy jego urodzin. Program badawczy został zrealizowany na podstawie zmodyfikowanej ankiety Polacy a Papież, którą przygotował ks. prof. Józef Makselon. Grupę respondentów tworzyli słuchacze, działającego przy Uniwersytecie Papieskim Jana Pawła II w Krakowie, Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku. Pośród 176 ankietowanych było 88,6% kobiet i 11,4% mężczyzn w wieku od 50 do 87 lat. Ankietowani to osoby zdecydowanie wierzące (59,7%) i wierzące (35,8%), charakteryzujące się wysokimi praktykami religijnymi.Święty Jan Paweł II był dla ankietowanych namiestnikiem Chrystusa (49,3%), głową Kościoła katolickiego (13,2%) i najwyższym autorytetem moralnym (19,1%). Był on postrzegany jako człowiek głębokiej wiary (27,1%), mądrości (21,7%), mocy ducha (12,2%).Głównymi osiągnięciami pontyfikatu były: odbudowa wiary (32,5%), obalenie komunizmu (28,5%) oraz pielgrzymowanie do wielu krajów (26,1%). Do najważniejszych tematów papieskiego nauczania zostały zaliczona problematyka wiary (19,2%), miłości ojczyzny (16,7%), małżeństwa i rodziny (15%).Respondenci deklarują, że są gotowi do pracy nad sobą i zmiany postaw oraz do wprowadzania w życie nauczania papieskiego. Zdają sobie jednak sprawę z czekających ich trudności, dlatego często (49,4%), a nawet codziennie (30%) modlą się do Boga za pośrednictwem św. Jana Pawła II. Ankietowani pamiętają również o modlitwie w intencji dzieci i wnuków (29,2%), o zgodę w ojczyźnie (25,4%) i o zdrowia dla siebie (22,6%).
The purpose of this article is to evaluate the person and the pontificate of Saint John Paul II due to the centenary of his birth. The research program was implemented on the basis of a modified survey “Poles and the Pope” prepared by Fr. prof. Makselon. The group of respond ents was composed of students of the Third Age University at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. Among the 176 respondents aged 61 to 75, women constituted 88.6% and men 11.4%. The respondents were firm Catholic believers (59.7%) and believers (35.8%), characterized by high religious practices.According to the survey, St. John Paul II was the Governor of Christ (49.3%), head of the Catholic Church (13.2%) and the highest moral authority (19.1%). He was seen as a man of deep faith (27.1%), wisdom (21.7%) and power of spirit (12.2%). The main achievements of the pontificate were: the restoration of faith (32.5%), the overthrow of communism (28.5%) and pilgrimages to many countries (26.1%). The most important topics of papal teaching included issues of faith (19.2%), love for the homeland (16.7%), marriage and family (15%).The respondents declare that they are ready to work on themselves to implement papal teaching. However, they are aware of difficulties ahead, so they often (49.4%) and even daily (30%) pray asking St. John Paul II to intercede with the Lord on their behalves. The respondents also remember to pray for their children and grandchildren (29.2%), for the consent in their homeland (25.4%) and for their health (22.6%). - Źródło:
