    This article draws attention to one of the important dimensions of the Christian vision of death, namely its ecclesial dimension. Human existence, after the pilgrimage, is not a solitary existence. Since the Church is one, as we profess in the Creed, all those who belong to Christ, both the living and the dead, belong to the one reality of the Church. The dead are thus not just pious memories in the human mind, but a continuing real presence in the Church, each according to one’s proper state. The Second Vatican Council recalled the three dimensions of the Church - the earthly, heavenly, and the being at the stage of purification. Since ancient times, the Church prays and encourages prayers for the dead, and recalls the communication of spiritual goods. While individual persons are responsible for their actions, including the preparation of the definitive meeting with the Lord, the whole Church still intercedes for them. With the reality of purgatory, which is, in fact, an experience of the mercy of God, persons closely united to Christ and His Church are able to achieve the measure of sanctification, which they failed to achieve during their earthly life.

    This article traces the role of the Holy Spirit throughout Augustine’s De Trinitate. In God the name “Love” (amor) can be taken both with respect to the essence and with respect to a person. Insofar as it is taken with respect to a person, it is a proper name of the Holy Spirit in the same way that “Word” is a proper name of the Son. The Holy Spirit is, in the Holy Trinity, the love of Both, of the Father and of the Son. Augustinian thinking on the relationship of the Trinity can thus be summed up as Lover, Love and Beloved. Elsewhere he uses these terms to describe the relationship, but if the Father is the Father, the Son is the Word of God and the Holy Spirit is both the Gift of God and the Love of God, then the Father is the Lover, the Spirit is Love itself and the Son is the Beloved. In contrast with the dominant Western and Eastern traditions, for Augustine the Holy Spirit comes to be thought of as God in a privileged sense, that is, as the person of the Trinity who is the most proper bearer of certain privileged names of God, most notably Love.
    Potrzeba było wielu lat i związanych z nimi uporczywych poszukiwań, aby św. Augustynowi udało się przejść od „nieznanego” Boga do Boga nie tylko umiłowanego, ale i będącego samą Miłością. Jako „Wielki Nieznany” prezentował się bowiem początkującemu kapłanowi z Hippony Duch Święty, a objawiona prawda, że „Bóg jest miłością” (1 J 4, 8–16), trudna do pogodzenia z podstawową zasadą wiary o Trójcy Świętej, tj. o Bogu jedynym w swej istocie i troistym w Osobach. Problematyka pochodzenia i imienia „Duch Święty” znajduje obszerne omówienie w De Trinitate, i to tam zwłaszcza, w ostatniej księdze biskup Hippony wyjaśnia, z jakich powodów Ducha Świętego nazywamy zwłaszcza Jednością, Miłością i Darem.

    In this article has been shown the ecclesiology of the pre-council period in Italy. The twentieth century called the century of the Church. The biggest event at the time was the Second Vatican Council. Vatican II was not a random event, but preceded by a renewal, which goes back to the early twentieth century. Also in Italy, an important role to fulfill the liturgical renewal, biblical movement, the activity of the lay faithful. In the period preceding the publication of the encyclical of Pope Pius XII on the Mystical Body of Christ, distinctive theology of the Italian representatives are: Giuseppe Siri, Francesco Chiesa, Antonio M. Vellico and Grazioso Ceriani. New impetus in the development of ecclesiology has become encyclical Mystici Corporis Christi (29.06.1943) Pope Pius XII. For example, taken by Pietro Parente (1891–1986) Mysterium Ecclesiae study with the intent to recover its original splendor to bind legal structure of the hierarchical Church, with its inner nature. Disclosure by Pope John XXIII on 25 January 1959, just three months after his election to the See of Peter, the convening of a general council, and then consult widely on the subject of proceedings has contributed significantly not only to revive interest in the Church, but also to take the very important issues related. In developing a new concept of the Church, that is more in line with the spirit of the period immediately preceding the ecclesiology of Vatican II, the priest put a significant contribution to the Diocese of Alba Natale Bussi (1907–1988), whose lectures were recorded and issued the first time already in 1961. Also noteworthy is the emphasis on the ground of Italian interest in the phenomenon of sanctity and the cult of saints. The overall look of the ecclesiology of the Italian twentieth century, which precedes the Second Vatican Council should be noted that it is not as discovery and pioneering, as ecclesiology German or French.

    The desire for God inscribed in man’s heart emphasizes first by Pope Francis, the importance of a personal relationship with God. God seeding in the human heart a desire yourself, do not enslave man does not make him a heartless for its presence, but expects him to accept the gift and personal commitment. Experience God in the human heart is not empirical experience, but spiritual, which verbalized is not easy. Thus, sometimes the desire for God in the human heart is associated with discovering the infinite in the finite, and limitations of daily life. They are often long been a well-worn trails particular truth, goodness and beauty.
    Pragnienie Boga wpisane jest w serce człowieka. Zdaniem papieża Franciszka fakt ten wskazuje na wielkie znaczenie osobistej relacji z Bogiem. Bóg, zasiewając w ludzkim sercu pragnienie Jego samego, nie zniewala człowieka ani nie czyni z niego istoty pozbawionej serca bez Jego obecności. Bóg oczekuje od człowieka przyjęcia daru i osobistego zaangażowania. Doświadczenie Boga w sercu człowieka nie należy do kategorii doświadczeń empirycznych, ale duchowych. Nie jest łatwo zwerbalizować tego typu doświadczenia. Czasem pragnienie Boga w sercu człowieka związane jest z odkrywaniem nieskończonego w skończoności i ograniczeniach życia codziennego. Są to często dawne i utarte szlaki odkrywania Boga – szczególnie w prawdzie, dobru i pięknie.

    In Jesus Christ, the human person finds greatness, dignity and worth of humanity. This article reflects on the doctrine of the great African bishop, St. Augustine of Hippo and Pope John Paul II. It discusses the truth about Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of humankind. The concept of redemption as represented by the bishop of Hippo is in essence sacerdotal and sacrificial as it is ultimately expressed by the sacrifice of the Cross. The Cross of Jesus Christ manifests the great and merciful willingness of God towards the fallen human person who is the slave of sin. The triple victory of Christ: over sin, death and Satan, restores the human person to life in the communion with God.
