    Klasyfikację i analizę funkcji miejskich można przeprowadzić w kontekście miejsca zamieszkania i miejsca pracy. Takie ujęcie badawcze, zastosowane do dzielnic Katowic, pozwala poszukiwać odpowiedzi na pytanie: w jakim stopniu określona dzielnica pełni funkcję miejsca zamieszkania (mieszkalną), a w jakim stopniu – funkcję miejsca pracy (usługową, usługowo-przemysłową lub przemysłową)? Ocena relacji między funkcją miejsca zamieszkania a funkcją miejsca pracy pozwoliła na wyróżnienie 5 typów funkcjonalnych dzielnic, o: bardzo silnej funkcji miejsca pracy, silnej funkcji miejsca pracy, zrównoważonej relacji funkcji miejsc pracy i zamieszkania, silnej funkcji mieszkaniowej, bardzo silnej funkcji mieszkaniowej. Analizując strukturę funkcjonalno-przestrzenną dzielnic katowickich, można odnotować następujące prawidłowości: 1. funkcja usługowa występuje w wielu miejscach miasta, szczególnie w dzielnicach północnych; 2. funkcja usługowo-mieszkaniowa w Śródmieściu i sąsiednich dzielnicach; 3. funkcja mieszkaniowa (wielorodzinna) rozproszona w północnych dzielnicach; 4. funkcja mieszkaniowa (jednorodzinna) skoncentrowana w południowo-zachodnich dzielnicach; 5. funkcja przemysłowa jest rozproszona w północno-wschodnich dzielnicach; 6. funkcja rekreacyjna – w środkowych dzielnicach.
    Classification and analysis of urban functions can be conducted in the context of a residence and a workplace. Such a research form, applied to Katowice districts, lets look for answers to the question: to what extent does a given district act as a residence (residential function), and to what extent – a workplace function (service, service-industrial or industrial one)? Evaluation of relations between the residence function and the workplace function let diff erentiate 5 functional types of districts with: very strong workplace function, strong workplace function, balanced relation between residence and workplace functions, strong residence function, very strong residence function. 1. Analysing the functional-spatial structure of Katowice districts the following regularities can be found: 2. service function in many places of the town, especially in northern districts, 3. service-residence function in the downtown and adjacent districts, 4. residence function (multifamily) scattered in northern districts, 5. residence function (one family) concentrated in south-western districts, 6. industrial function scattered in north-eastern districts, 7. recreation function in the middle part of the town.

    Opis:
    Koncepcja zrównoważonej mobilności, z uwagi na swój kompleksowy charakter, jest jednym z najważniejszych tematów studiów miejskich. Choć dla jej urzeczywistnienia niezbędne jest powiązanie rozwoju transportu z planowaniem przestrzennym, to kwestia ta w polskiej literaturze przedmiotu jest rzadko poruszana. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wstępne zbadanie dotychczasowych i określenie potencjalnych zmian w mobilności miejskiej oraz w strukturze przestrzenno-funkcjonalnej w następstwie uruchomienia Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej (PKM). Analiza publikacji naukowych, materiałów kartograficznych oraz dokumentów z zakresu programowania rozwoju lokalnego i regionalnego pozwoliła na sformułowanie następujących wniosków: (1) przebieg linii PKM odpowiada obecnemu i przyszłemu zapotrzebowaniu na przewozy wewnątrzmiejskie; (2) położenie części przystanków w oddaleniu od potencjalnych źródeł ruchu wymaga znacznie głębszej niż dotychczasowa integracji kolei z innymi środkami transportu; (3) w przyszłości planowana jest intensyfikacja zabudowy wokół przystanków PKM, co podniesie jej atrakcyjność względem transportu indywidualnego.
    The concept of sustainable mobility, due to its complex nature, is one of the most important topics of urban studies. Although the link between transport development and spatial planning is necessary for its realization, this issue of the subject is rarely discussed in the Polish literature. The purpose of this study is to initially investigate the hitherto implemented and to identify potential changes in the urban mobility and spatial-functional structure, following the launch of the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PMR). The analysis of scientific publications, cartographic materials and documents on local and regional development programming allowed the following conclusions to be drawn:(i) the location of the PMR line corresponds to the current and future demand for urban transport; (ii) the location of some railway stops far from potential traffic sources requires that the integration of railways with other means of transport should be much deeper than that to date; (iii) intensification of the development around PMR stops is planned in the future – it will increase the attractiveness of railways in comparison with individual transport.

    Tradycyjne regiony społeczno-ekonomiczne powstałe w tzw. drugim cyklu N.D. Kondratiewa (1925) odzwierciedlają etap dominacji górnictwa i hutnictwa w gospodarce. Przykład takiego regionu w Europie Środkowej to konurbacja katowicka. Celem artykułu jest próba usystematyzowania najważniejszych współczesnych przeobrażeń funkcjonalno-przestrzennych, zwłaszcza tych, które nastąpiły po transformacji ustrojowo-gospodarczej. Uwagę skupiono przede wszystkim na: problemach rewitalizacji terenów poprzemysłowych, kształtowaniu się mieszkalnictwa w obrębie ośrodków przemysłowych oraz na tendencjach suburbanizacji.
    Traditional socio-economic regions established in the so-called second Kondratiev cycle (N.D. Kondratiev (1925)) reflect a stage of dominance of mining and metallurgical industry in economy. The Katowice conurbation is an example of such a region in Central Europe. The goal of the article is to identify the most important functional-spatial transformations, especially the ones that took place after the political and economic transformation. Attention was focused mainly on the problems of revitalization of post-industrial areas, development of housing within industrial centres and suburbanization tendencies.

    The main object of this paper is to examine the influence of the railway lines liquidation on changes in the functional and spatial structures of towns in Lower Silesia. In the article different forms of the postrail and railside areas land use were illustrated, at the assumption that it is the first phase of searching for appropriate forms of using them.

    Artykuł prezentuje przekształcenie struktury funkcjonalno-przestrzennej w 18 miastach wojewódzkich w Polsce. Badania zostały oparte na danych przestrzennych z lat 2010 i 2014 dotyczących wybranych miast. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza prezentuje strukturę i dynamikę przemian gospodarki gruntami, które zostały podzielone na użytki, lasy, obszary zielone i tereny zabudowane. Badania 18 miejskich obszarów wskazują główne grupy przestrzeni: dzielnic mieszkaniowych, okręgi przemysłowe, inne tereny zabudowane, obszary rekreacyjne, obszary komunikacyjne. Druga część artykułu przedstawia analizę porównawczą struktury ziemi w miastach na podstawie form własności. Zawiera również źródła dochodu budżetowego z wszystkich form gospodarki przestrzennej w obrębie miast studiów przypadku. W podsumowaniu przedstawiono wnioski z prowadzonej analizy.
    The paper presents the transformation of functional and spatial structure of 18 voivodship cities in Poland. The study is based on the data on the land records for the years 2010 and 2014, collected in the city survey departments of the selected cities. The paper consists of two parts. The first part presents the structure and dynamics of the land according to the forms of land use that have been divided into agricultural land, forests, green areas and built-up and urbanized land. The detailed analysis of urban areas of 18 cities is provided for the main groups of residential areas, industrial areas, other built-up areas, urban areas, recreational areas, communication areas. The second part of the article presents a comparative analysis of the structure of land in the cities based on the forms of the ownership. It also contains the sources of the budget revenue from all forms of the land management within the case cities. In summary, the paper presents the conclusions of the conducted study.

    Opis:
    The article covers the broad problems of the scientific works of Maria P. Kotyurova – professor of Perm State University, the leader of Perm Scientific School of Functional stylistics. The bibliography of Maria P. Kotyurova includes 7 monographs, 15 textbooks, more than 300 articles, in which the main questions of stylistics of scientific speech, semantic structure of scientific text, legal linguistics and many others are put forward and solved. Special attention in the article is given to the analysis of the key notions of Prof. Kotyurova’s stylistic theory, which are now generally recognised and fundamentally important in functional stylistics. Among these notions are scientific text extra-linguistic factors, epistemic situation, reference scientific text, scientific speech culture, principles of scientific text editing, scientist speech individual style, etc. As the most important achievements of Prof. Kotyurova the author of the article considers: the model of scientific text semantic structure developed by Prof. Kotyurova (the model includes three components of scientific knowledge – ontological, methodological and axiological); description of the basic scientific text categories – coherence, integrity, wholeness, accuracy, density, etc.; justification of a multidisciplinary (complex) approach to scientific text study; and studying of stereotypes and creativity in scientist communicative activity. It is noted that M. Kotyurova is distinguished by the ability to see the non-obvious but fundamentally important properties in a scientific text. The dynamics of the research interest of Prof. Kotyrova, from classical functional stylistics to anthropocentric and discursive linguistics, are analyzed. The author of the article underlines that, while retaining a commitment to the ideas of her teacher – Prof. Margarita N. Kozhina, Maria P. Kotyrova at the same time is an innovator in the development of modern functional stylistics and the application of new approaches to research text. The fruitfulness of Prof. Maria P. Kotyurova ideas was confirmed by numerous works of her followers both in Russia and abroad.
