Opis:
In the paper an approach to the reliability analysis of multistate series systems assuming their components dependency according to the local load sharing rule is presented. There is introduced the local load sharing model of components dependency (of departures from the reliability states subsets) and the reliability function of a multistate series system with dependent components is determined. These results are also presented in case system components have exponential reliability functions and in this case basic reliability characteristics are given.

Opis:
This paper presents an algorithm to solve the problem of maintenance management of a two state parallel-series system based on preventive maintenance over the different system components. It is assumed that all components of the system exhibit Weibull hazard function and constant repair rate and that preventive maintenance would bring the system to the as good as new condition. The algorithm calculates the interval of time between preventive maintenance tasks for each component, minimizing the costs, and in such a way that the total downtime, in a certain period of time, does not exceed a predetermined value. It is presented an industrial case study where the algorithm is applied.

Opis:
The models of the non-renewal reliability systems with dependent times to failure of components are presented. The dependence arises from some common environmental stresses and shocks. It is assumed that the failure occurs only because of two independent sources common for two neighbour components. The reliability function of series and parallel systems with components depending on common sources are computed. The reliability functions of the systems with dependent and independent life lengths of components are compared.

Opis:
Integrated general models of approximate approaches of complex multi-state series and parallel systems, linking their reliability and availability improvement models and their operation processes models caused changing reliability and safety structures and components reliability characteristics in different operations states, are constructed. These joint models are applied to determining improved reliability and availability characteristics of the considered multi-state series and parallel systems related to their varying in time operation processes. The conditional reliability characteristics of the multi-state systems with hot, cold single reservation of component and the conditional reliability characteristics of the multi-state systems with reduced rate of departure by a factor of system components are defined.

The paper is concerned with mathematical methods in asymptotic approach to systems safety and reliability analysis. In the safety investigation of large-scale systems, the problem of the complexity of their safety functions arises. This problem may be approximately solved by assuming that the number of system components tends to infinity and finding the limit safety function of the system. The article is based on the results of the author’s solutions for series-“m out of kn” given in [4] – [6].

In the reliability investigation of large-scale systems, the problem of the complexity of their safety functions arises. This problem may be approximately solved by assuming that the number of system components tends to infinity and finding the limit safety function of the system. The problem of finding the limit reliability function of large-scale systems is well known for basic two-state systems (Gnedenko for series and parallel systems [1], Smirnov for “k out of n” systems [8]). The problem of possible limit reliability functions for series-parallel and parallel-series is also well recognized [3]. The solution for two-state series-“k out of n” systems, while k/n→0 and also while k/n→1 can be found in [5] and [6]. The paper is concerned with mathematical methods in multistate asymptotic approach to series-“k out of n” systems safety and shows the methods of establishing its possible limit safety functions, while k/n→ λ, 0˂ λ˂ 1.

The paper is composed of two parts, in this part after introducing the multi-state and the asymptotic approaches to system reliability evaluation the multi-state homogeneous series and parallel systems with reserve components are defined and their multi-state limit reliability functions are determined. In order to improve of the reliability of these systems the following methods are used: (i) a warm duplication of components, (ii) a cold duplication of components, (iii) a mixed duplication of components, (iv) improving the reliability of components by reducing their failure rate. Next, the effects of the systems’ reliability different improvements are compared.

Opis:
This paper tries to represent a new method for computing the reliability of a system, which is arranged in series or parallel model. In this method we estimate life distribution function of whole system using the asymptotic Extreme Value (EV) distribution of Type I, or Gumbel theory. We use EV distribution in minimal mode, for estimate the life distribution function of series system and maximal mode for parallel system. All parameters also are estimated by Moments method. Reliability function and failure (hazard) rate and p-th percentile point of each function are determined. Other important indexes such as Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), Mean Time to repair (MTTR), for non-repairable and renewal systems in both of series and parallel structures will be computed.
