    Czas pandemii koronawirusa i choroby COVID-19 był okazją do postawienia na nowo wielu pytań, dotyczących relacji międzyludzkich. W tym kontekście Papież Franciszek próbuje podjąć terapię braterstwem, aby „globalizacji obojętności” skutecznie i konsekwentnie przeciwstawiać „globalizację braterstwa i solidarności”. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie istoty braterstwa w nauczaniu papieża Franciszka w kontekście nauczania Kościoła katolickiego. W artykule zostają przedstawione biblijne korzenie braterstwa, a także jego inklinacje w magisterium Soboru Watykańskiego II i kolejnych papieży. Reinterpretacja terminu „braterstwo” w myśli Franciszka obejmuje: „mistykę braterstwa”, jego charakter międzyreligijny i społeczny, globalne braterstwo na płaszczyźnie bioetyki i ekologii oraz powiązanie z „teorią przeciwieństw” (niem. Gegensatz), którą papież zaczerpnął od R. Guardiniego.
    The time of the coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 disease was an opportunity to pose many questions about interpersonal relationships again. In this context, Pope Francis proposes fraternity therapy to effectively and consistently oppose “globalization of indifference” and “globalization of brotherhood and solidarity”. The purpose of the article is to show the essence of brotherhood in the teaching of Pope Francis in the context of the teaching of the Catholic Church. The article presents the biblical roots of brotherhood, as well as its inclinations in the magisterium of the Second Vatican Council and subsequent popes. Reinterpretation of the term “fraternity” in Francis’ thoughts includes: “mysticism of fraternity”, its interreligious and social character, global fraternity in the field of bioethics and ecology, and connection with the “theory of opposites” (Gegensatz), which Francis took from R. Guardini..

    Pytanie o metodologiczny i teoriopoznawczy status obrazu Boga we współczesnej teologii jest jednym z najważniejszych, jakie należy postawić w świetle przemian społeczno-religijnych, następujących we współczesnym społeczeństwie. Odchodzenie od instytucjonalnie praktykowanej wiary religijnej jest bowiem często spowodowane obrazem Boga (i relacji między Bogiem a człowiekiem), który dla współczesnego człowieka staje się coraz mniej możliwy do zaakceptowania. Nie jest to jedynie kwestia ludzkiej niezgody, motywowanej postawą antyreligijną, lecz przede wszystkim skutek zniekształcenia go we współczesnym przekazie teologicznym, homiletycznym i katechetycznym. Obraz ten, kreowany najpierw w teologii, został nadmiernie obciążony elementami, nawiązującymi do powinności moralnej człowieka, a jednocześnie w znacznym stopniu zubożony o elementy wywodzące się z jego doświadczenia egzystencjalno-duchowego. Odzyskanie bardziej adekwatnego obrazu Boga wymaga wnikliwego namysłu filozoficznego nad samą teologią oraz zrekonstruowania tego obrazu na podstawie pogłębionego odniesienia do treści biblijnych, wraz z jednoczesnym powiązaniem ich z aktualnym doświadczeniem religijnym człowieka, ujawniającym się w jego egzystencji. -------------- Zgłoszono: 20/09/2020.     The question about the methodological and epistemological status of the image of God in contemporary theology is soon to be posed in the socio-religious light of contemporarysociety. Departure from institutionally practiced religious faith is often seen as an image of God (and the relationship between God and man), which is becoming less and less acceptable to modern man. It is not only a matter of human disagreement motivated by an anti-religious attitude, but above all the influence of its distortion in contemporary theological, homiletic and catechetical transmission. This image, first created in theology, considerably increases the already heavy burden in relation to the moral obligation of man, and thus is largely impoverished by elements derived from his existential and spiritual experience. Recovering a more adequate image of God requires a thorough philosophical reflection on theology and the reconstruction of this image on the basis of an in-depth reference to the content, and the simultaneous linking them with the current religious experience that manifests itself in his existence. -------------- Received: 20/09/2020.     Proces sekularyzacji i relatywizacji życia współczesnego człowieka dotyka wierzących w ich doświadczeniu Kościoła. Jednocześnie zauważalne jest zainteresowanie duchowością, ale często o charakterze zindywidualizowanym i pozaeklezjalnym. Stąd wynika konieczność refleksji nad właściwym rozumieniem tożsamości i misji Kościoła. Adekwatnym pojęciem dla opisania tej tożsamości jest communio. Artykuł wyjaśnia właściwe jego rozumienie w kluczu biblijnym ze względu na wieloznaczność, która występuje w publikacjach z zakresu teologii, a także w naukach pozateologicznych. Szczególnego znaczenia nabiera ono na gruncie teologii duchowości, określając charakter jedności pomiędzy Bogiem a człowiekiem. Analiza Starego Testamentu odsłania istotne aspekty komunijne wynikające z Przymierza. Analiza Nowego Testamentu wskazuje zaś, że w Jezusie Chrystusie dokonała się pełnia komunijnego zjednoczenia, która znajduje swoją kontynuację w Kościele. Z tego względu duchowość chrześcijanina musi być interpersonalna, chrystocentryczna, chrystoformiczna oraz eklezjalna. Ten proces kształtuje życie moralne, znajdujące swoje odzwierciedlenie w życiu indywidualnym, społecznym, ekonomicznym, a nawet politycznym.
    The process of secularization and relativization of modern man’s life touches the believers in their experience of the Church. At the same time, there is a noticeable interest in spirituality, but often of an individualized and non-religious nature. Hence, the necessity arises to reflect on the proper understanding of the identity of the Church. The appropriate concept for describing this identity is communio. The article explains its proper understanding in the biblical key due to the ambiguity that occurs in publications in the field of theology, as well as in non-theological sciences. It acquires a special meaning in the theology of spirituality, by defining the character of unity between God and man. The analysis of the Old Testament reveals essential aspects of the communion arising from the covenant. The analysis of the New Testament shows that the fullness of communion was accomplished in Jesus Christ, and it finds its continuation in the Church. Therefore, Christians’ spirituality should be interpersonal, Christocentric, Christoformic and ecclesial. This process shapes moral life, reflected in individual, social, economic and even political life.

    The development of theology over the centuries of the Church’s life and activity is accomplished through publications. They express the theologians’ positions, opinions and hypotheses. Among Polish theological journals, “Collectanea Theologica”, which has its origins in Lviv (“Przegląd Teologiczny”), plays a special role. Though it is connected with the Warsaw theological environment, it not only covers Poland but also goes beyond its borders, as evidenced by the foreign publications and foreign-language authors. Undoubtedly, this journal has become a very serious and rich source of and platform for the development of the theology of spirituality. Its existence is connected with the independence of this branch of the theology, and therefore from the beginning of its existence we find in the journal highly valuable and serious materials on spirituality.The analysis of the publications, which are the result of research conducted over a hundred years, allows us to conclude that we are dealing with an unusual and multidirectional wealth. It should be stated that the publications present an interdisciplinary nature of the research conducted. The study outlines the main directions of the development of the theology of spirituality and their documentation. It can be said that these publications reflect theological trends in the universal Church. Both the documents of the Church and of the popes as well as the events became an inspiration for the authors. Historical, social and even political events were not without their significance and influence. Of particular importance is the development of native Polish theology, having its own specificity and contributing richly to the life of the whole universal Church. We define such a achievement as the “Polish school of spirituality”.
