Opis:
Italian futurists, eulogists of movement and velocity, avail themselves of the theme of travel, which frequently becomes a travel towards the Absolute and is based on such philosophical foundations as Bergsonism and occultism. This topic also appears a few times in Marinetti’s dramaturgy. His protagonists always begin their journey hoping that it will bring them closer to the stars, but inevitably fail to achieve their target. Marinetti’s drama Vulcano, analyzed in this paper, is both a rich source of futurist leitmotifs associated with the spiritual ascent and an interesting example of the unexpected pessimism of the founder of that bellicose movement.

Decisions of the Patent Office in the Trademark Protection Granting ProcedureAs of 15 April 2016, a major change took place in the Polish trademark registration system concerning the procedure for granting trademark protective right as a result of the amendment of the Industrial Property Rights Act of 30 June 2000. Prior to the amendment, the "examination" system was used, whereby all obstacles to registration, the so-called relative and absolute conditions, were examined ex officio. Under the now binding contrarian system, only absolute conditions are examined. The system limits the role of the Patent Office in the registration process while increasing alertness and necessitating more activity on the part of entities entitled under previously granted rights. The change of the procedure has been simplify in order to shorten the application examination duration as well as adjust domestic legislation to EU law. After the closing of the relevant procedure conducted by an expert, the Patent Office may issue a decision on granting or refusing to grant trademark protection right. The article presents in detail the procedure for obtaining trademark protection right on the basis of the currently applicable amended provisions of the Industrial Property Rights Act, indicating the essence of the changes.

Opis:
The main thesis of the book reviewed is an assumption that Poland and other countries of East-Central Europe suffer from a chronic underdevelopment, whose sources the Author is trying to find in the past. The review focuses on one of the two main themes of the book, i.e., leaving out the economic issues, it concentrates on the politics. The Author sets out to claim that only those countries develop correctly which have experienced absolute monarchy in their history. Referring to the idea of Ernst Kantorowicz, Jan Sowa assumes that such a political system is the only guarantee of stability and continuity of a country: on the death of the “physical body” of the king, his “political body” continues to last. In Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, because of the elective character of the monarchy and the claims of the nobility to play the role of the sovereign, the “political body” disappeared, and the country turned out to be a “phantom body.” For the Author, this means an atrophy of the country following the death of the last Jagiellonian king, Sigismund II Augustus. Between 1572 and 1795 there is no Polish statehood, since the Author regards the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as only an “illusion.” Both the theories presented above and the sources used to prove their correctness raise substantial doubts. The Author confuses basic notions, identifying sovereignty with absolutism, and he makes basic historical mistakes, regarding the Jagiellons’ throne in the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland as hereditary, and also assuming the factual decay of statehood as early as in 16th century, with its symbolic confirmation in 18th century. He finds the grounds for his theories in political theology and psychoanalysis, using historical and legal historical sources to a very limited extent.

Opis:
In the context of the long discussion on the (non-)existence of permanent Corded Ware culture (CWC) settlements and the semi-nomadic way of life of their inhabitants, ongoing excavations of common settlements have newly gained immense significance, as in almost all other regions, also in Moravia (Olomouc-Slavonín, Horní lán; Vřesovice; Seloutky; Hulín-Pravčice 1; Prostějov, Za tržištěm). Earlier sporadic indications have been joined by a series of records of settlements with sunken features and typical local ceramics identical with burial grounds, together with which they formed complete settlement areas in a number of sites. Light wattle structures, wells(?), textile production, animal husbandry, etc., have been identified, as were some very unconventional inhumation burials in pits (Olomouc-Slavonín, two cases). The cord element clearly formed a part of the mixed horizon of Strachotín-Držovice with elements of Makó/Kosihy-Čaka culture, Globular Amphora culture and Moravian Group of CWC. Absolute dating indicated the 26th–23rd century cal. BC. Absence of foundations of (residential) structures could be explained by the lower level of recognisability of CWC settlements. In other aspects, it showed no particular difference from other prehistoric farmers and cattle breeders.

Opis:
The article is devoted to the conceptual category “world”, which plays an important role in the philosophy of Martin Buber and is also an essential element of the concept of education. The role of this category is evidenced by the statements contained in the speech “What is educational” [Uber das Erzieherische]: the world “begets the person in the individual”, “educates man”. These statements are explained by the presentation of Buber’s concept of the duality of the world as “Ono world” [Eswelt] and “Ty world” [Duwelt]. The question of how to overcome the crisis of the contemporary world caused by the dominance of the deterministic, monological, objectifying “Ono world” over the world of authentic interpersonal relations, that is, the “You world”, was identified as the critical problem of the philosophy under consideration. In his fundamental work “Me and You”, the author argues that overcoming this crisis depends on a certain kind of transfer of God’s presence into people’s daily lives, which anyone can experience in a direct relationship with Him (“absolute relationship”, “pure relationship”). According to the author, the intensification and concentration of the moments of relations in the matter of human life will bring about a gradual transformation of all spheres of the world: the sphere of life with nature will become the Cosmos (a reality in which a meaningful, i.e. divine order will prevail), the sphere of interpersonal relations will become Eros (reality, in which the order of love will reign), and the sphere of the spirit will become the Logos (a reality in which relational events will impregnate creative thought). The deepening of the philosophical conception of the world leads to the conclusion that Buber, speaking of the world that “educates man”, means the world understood as Cosmos, Eros and Logos. The educator should focus on such a world and present it to the pupil in an educational relationship.
