    Opis:
    The author explains the origin of the name Elohim and subsequently the theophorical names of people that were derived from this name of God in the Old Testament in the postposition such as Daniel and in preposition such as Elżbieta and in preposition with postposition such as: Eliasz. The article entry is composed in the following way: names given in The Dictionary of Names Contemporarily Used in Poland, versions of the names in 29 languages, records of the names in the Old Polish and their origin, and finally, the names of distinguished people by the described name.

    Opis:
    The subject of the article is the analysis of the archaic and obsolete vocabulary in Jan Pawel Woronicz’s 19th-Century Hymn do Boga. The vocabulary of the poem can be divided into two groups: 1)Vocabulary cited by Doroszewski’s Dictionary of the Polish Language (SJPD) - 77.4%; 2)Vocabulary not cited in SJPD - 22.6%. The majority (69.3%) of vocabulary cited by SJPD are obsolete, archaic and historic words with relevant qualifiers in the Dictionary. Only a handful (8.1%) of words have the expressive qualifier literary. The vocabulary not cited by SJPD constitute a separate group. Only a few of them can be found in Linde’s Dictionary. Those words were created by Woronicz himself, whose poetry, in Klemensiewicz’s words, „is abundant with neologisms”. In Hymn do Boga the poet used a number of neologisms, not cited by the dictionaries of general Old Polish and contemporary Polish. Klemensiewicz mentions them in vol. 2 of his Historia języka polskiego.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest interpretacja realizacji biblijnego motywu grzechu pierworodnego w dwóch staropolskich apokryfach. Interesuje mnie relacja między omawianymi fragmentami utworów: sceną opisującą naturę grzechu Adama i sceną kuszenia Chrystusa na pustyni. Przeprowadzone analizy pozwalają wskazać, w jaki sposób myślano o grzechu pierworodnym, jakie są relacje treściowe i źródłowe między utworami, a także pokazują funkcję egzegetyczną tych opisów.
    The aim of the paper is to interpret the implementation of the biblical motif of original sin in two Old-Polish apocrypha. I am interested in the relation between the discussed fragments of the works: the scene describing the nature of Adamic sin and the scene of Christ’s temptation in the desert. The analyses carried out make it possible to indicate how original sin was thought about, what are the content and source relations between the works, and to show the exegetical function of these descriptions.
