Opis:
The aim of this paper is to compare and contrast two neighbouring provinces, Aydın and Denizli which are located in the western part of Turkey in terms of regional development criteria by utilizing a theoratical framework developed by authors. More specifically, the relationship between provincial economic development and socio-cultural factors and Networks are searched. After conducting a 36 item survey among 118 businessmen in these provincies, it can be stated that, not only economic factors but also cultural values, networks and organizations (as it is in institutional theory) seem to explain success or failure of regions.

Opis:
The paper address an issue related to the indicators and mechanisms of transition from one stage of education to another in the context of L.S. Vygotsky’s cultural-historical theory. On the basis of an analysis of the cultural-historical theory and its respective pedagogical practice it can be inferred that the realization of the process of education, constructed in the logic of the development of “sense-meaning” relationship, enables formation of the value sphere of will in children, which becomes reflected in the level and quality of the learners’ developing awareness. The specificity of the construction of such education prompts the purposeful and directed development of an individual’s imagination at different ages. The presented specific traits of the development of imagination at different stages of childhood and the described respective features of educational curricula construction are aimed at the creation of conditions for the development of the sphere of sense.

Opis:
Vygotsky’s cultural-historical theory introduced new procedures in research methodology referring to the relationship between the zone of actual and proximal development. In the article I share my research experience resulting from an attempt to use in my research a teaching experiment in the understanding of Lev S. Vygotsky, the transition from the study of existing learning culture products and the diagnosis of the zone of actual development, the exploration of the child’s learning potential, his/her susceptibility to teaching, estimation of the child’s proximal development and cognitive readiness; from organizing a research situation in which the child independently solves the problem to exploring the potential of a child to solve a problem in cooperation with an adult, finally from examining both the child and the context to the study of the child in the context.

Opis:
The original concept, theory-method of Lev S. Vygotsky, the innovative nature of his views allows to adopt new theoretical and methodological tools to describe the process of development and learning of a child, reconstruct what is happening in the classroom and in the students’ minds. For many years the interest in Vygotsky’s concept has been experiencing a renaissance all over the world, also in Poland. The cognitively sophisticated concept has original terminology. Unfortunately, in the discourses, frequent borrowings and loose usage of terms have been observed, as well as the reproduction of Vygotsky’s words without discovering the meaning or giving them a deeper meaning. As a consequence, this brings the risk of distortion of the idea and the apparent change of school culture, its opening to a new quality (socio-cultural constructivism). In this article I share my reflection on: research and Research and Development (R&D) activities based on the theory-method of L.S. Vygotsky, applying his ideas to pedagogical research, and educational implications for changing everyday teaching practice.
