Opis:: The polish regional strategies present a problem of transport development in the regions. Although plans for transport systems in most provinces are not treated as a priority, it can positively assess of their visibility. The strategies differ in the complexity of the approach to the transport system (defined as a set of subsystems).They contain incentives to concentrate on improving transport accessibility, although at the risk of neglecting the improvement of the competitiveness of transport and the sustainability of its development. A characteristic is also the focus of attention on the development of road and air infrastructure.

Opis:: In the recent years, one can observe a growing interest in the creativity and its role in local and regional development. Creative businesses, industries, cities or regions seem to be not only a new trend but simply a fashion among both researchers and policy makers. Also the city of Łódź did not resist the desire to base a development on creative industries. Thus, in 2011, a strategy of building a brand of creative city was launched. After two years, a time for monitoring the first effects of the strategy has come. This paper is a description of the results of a interview-based research conducted among the dwellers of agglomeration of Łódź, aiming at verification of the reconcilability of new city brand and thus - an effectiveness and efficacy of this new direction of promoting the city of Łódź.

Opis:: W pierwszej części artykułu skierowano uwagę na kluczowe założenia natury przemian i wyzwań, które, w obliczu trendów w gospodarce światowej, podkreśla się w Regionalnej Strategii Innowacji Województwa Śląskiego na lata 2013-2020. Uwypuklono znaczenie tematyki brokerów wiedzy. Następnie zarysowano teoretyczne ramy problematyki pośrednictwa wiedzy, co stanowiło cel główny niniejszego artykułu. Całość zwieńczona została wnioskami, odnoszącymi się do istoty i znaczenia dalszych badań na zarysowanym polu.
The paper firstly discusses the key aspects related to both changes and challenges, which are emphasized in the “Regional Innovation Strategy of the Silesia Voivodeship on 2013-2020” in the face of trends observed nowadays in the world economy. The issue of knowledge brokers is raised. Next theoretical framework for problems concerned with brokerage function is outlined, which is the main goal of the paper. At the ending of the paper some final comments on the core of the matter as well as on planned research are included.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące zmian demograficznych w województwie mazowieckim. Sytuacja demograficzna Mazowsza jest powiązana z polaryzacją jego rozwoju powodującą zróżnicowania przestrzenne problemów społecznych. Dlatego w pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano podstawowe cechy rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego województwa mazowieckiego oraz wskazano główne trendy w rozwoju demograficznym regionu tj.: a) spadek zachowań promałżeńskich i prokreacyjnych, b) depopulację obszarów peryferyjnych, c) starzenie się ludności. Odwrócenie tych zjawisk wymaga zdecydowanej reakcji rządu i władz województwa mazowieckiego. W drugiej części zaprezentowano przewidziane w „Strategii rozwoju województwa mazowieckiego do roku 2030. Innowacyjne Mazowsze” oraz w „Strategii Polityki Społecznej Województwa Mazowieckiego na lata 2014-2020” działania na rzecz powstrzymania i zapobiegania negatywnym trendom rozwoju społecznego.
The article presents selected issues of demographic change in the Mazowieckie Voivodship. Demographic situation is related to the polarization of its development, resulting in spatial differentiation of social problems. Therefore, in the first part of the article presents the basic features of the socio-economic development Mazowieckie Voivodship are presented and the main trends in the demographic development of the region are identified, such as: a) a decrease in marital and reproductive behaviors, b) the depopulation of peripheral areas, c) the aging of the population. These phenomena requires a strong response from the government and the regional authority. "The Development Strategy for the Mazowieckie Voivodship 2030. Innovative Mazowsze" and "The Strategy of Social Policy of the Mazowieckie Voivodship 2014- 2020" includes actions to stop and prevent the negative trends of social development.

Opis:: This article presents results of the research whose aim was to determine attitudes of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Poland towards cooperation with the socio-economic environment at the regional level. Missions and strategies available on HEIs’ websites were examined using one of sociological research methods – content analysis. The collected documents were subjected to a quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify the directions and areas of this cooperation. The study conducted showed a strong connection between the commitment to regional development processes and the type of HEI (public academic HEIs, state higher vocational schools and private HEIs).

Opis:: Demograficzne starzenie się społeczeństwa jest procesem, który zgodnie z najnowszą prognozą ludności Polski w kolejnych dziesięcioleciach przebiegać będzie coraz szybciej. Takie szybkie tempo starzenia się ludności będzie miało istotne znaczenie dla wielu obszarów życia społecznego i gospodarczego. Już obecnie stanowi to wyzwanie dla lokalnej i regionalnej polityki społecznej, wymaga bowiem reakcji ze strony samorządów terytorialnych, zarówno w krótkookresowej perspektywie czasowej, jak i w dłuższym horyzoncie czasowym. Z uwagi na konieczność prowadzenia polityki społecznej przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego niezbędne jest realizowanie jej w oparciu o długookresowe plany działania, jakimi są strategie. W artykule skoncentrowano się na analizie wojewódzkich strategii w zakresie polityki społecznej i zaprogramowanych w nich celach i kierunkach działań skierowanych na potrzeby osób starszych.
Demographic aging of the society is a process which, according to the recent forecast for the population of Poland, will intensify greatly in the next few decades. Such a rapid pace of aging will be of considerable significance to numerous spheres of social and economic life. It is already a challenge to local and regional social policies, as it calls for response from local governments both in short- and long-term perspectives. The article points to the need of a comprehensive perception of the socioeconomic challenges related to the aging of the society. Because social policy should of necessity be carried out by local self-governing bodies, it is essential for the policy to be based on long-term plans of action, i.e. strategies. The main focus of the article is the analysis of provincial (voivodeship) strategies for social policy, especially the strategies' aims and courses of action designed to address the needs of senior citizens.

Analiza stanu kontraktowania i wydatkowania środków przeznaczonych na projekty realizowane w ramach wybranych Programów Operacyjnych, wskazuje na zaawansowany poziom ich realizacji. Implikuje to obserwowany postęp w osiąganiu celów strategii Europa 2020.
Nearly ten years of Polish membership in the EU have shown that EU funds are an important element in stimulating the development of our country in different dimensions. This article aims to assess the significance of selected Operational Programmes for the realization of the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy in Poland. The analysis of contracting and spending levels of funds for projects realized within selected Operational Programmes, indicates an advanced level of their implementation. This results in the observed progress in achieving the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy
