Opis:: Author in the study made statistical-econometric analysis of the development of subregions of the Silesian province was conducted in 2005-2010 years. In the Silesian province are 8 subregions: Bielsko-Biała, Bytom, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Katowice, Rybnik, Sosnowiec and Tychy. These subregions differ between themselves - subregions from the north and south part of provinces are much less urbanised than subregions from the central part of the Silesian province. The author wants to show happening changes in these subregions in examined years and to show differences and resemblances between subregions.

Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano wybrane klastry działające w województwie śląskim w obszarze ochrony środowiska. Przeanalizowano ich rolę w rozwoju regionu, przedstawiono główne cele działalności oraz korzyści wynikające z uczestnictwa w inicjatywie klastrowej. Działalność ekologicznych klastrów wpisuje się w rozwój zrównoważony województwa śląskiego. Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie i ocena tych o profilu ekologicznym, rozwijających się w województwie śląskim, mając na uwadze ich miejsce i rolę w rozwoju regionu.
In this article were shown selected cluster working in the area of environment protection in the silesian province. There was analyzed their importance in the development of the region. The main goals of the activity and advantages resulting from participation in the cluster initiative were shown as well. Activity of the ecological clusters is related with the balanced development of the silesian province.

Opis:: The article presents the changes in size, structure and degree of diversification of the economic base in relation to the changes in the total number of working people (including employees of micro-businesses) in small mono-functional towns of the Podkarpackie Province in the years 1999-2009. The small mono-functional towns are assumed to be those which, before the transformation of the economic system in Poland, were specialized industrial towns with population in 2009 not exceeding 20 thousand. Pursuant to said assumptions, there was conducted an analysis of seven towns of the Podkarpackie Province: Nowa Dęba, Sędziszów Małopolski, Nowa Sarzyna, Jedlicze, Zagórz, Rymanów and Kańczuga. This allowed for determining of present-day functions of the previously mono-industrial towns.

Opis:: The level of socio-economic, demographic processes and processes of migration phenomena are interdependent. The study has been subjected to a detailed analysis of inflow and outflow and the net internal migration in the Silesian province. The research includes internal migration in the Silesian province in terms of time (years 1995-2011) and spatial (sub Silesian province). In the context of economic and social processes in the Silesian province were examined trends in migration and development in this region and was carried out statistical analysis of the structure of migration.
