Opis:
Disintegration of villages was the important process of social change in Poland during the Century of 1918-2018 years. It run nor in the linear nor in the one directed manner however. The process of disintegration of rural community was not universal one on the territory of Poland. It also has no unilateral effects during the period of 1918-2018. The consolidation, connection, affiliation of economic, social and cultural domain of the State were the most characteristic trends of the period of the twenty years before of the Second World War. The rapid changes in the earlier process of integration of rural social community took over during The Second World War and next years implemented by new policy in Poland after 1945 year. The new rules of transformation intensify the discussion connected with problems of village and agriculture after 1989 year. Slowly, step by step, there were come into sight the new symptoms of the reintegration process of local village community after 30 years of transformation.

Opis:
The insurance internal market has existed since 1993 (enforced by the third life directive). Its’ main features are a common framework to allow insurers to operate throughout the EU and to establish and provide services freely. On the other hand, the legal framework was designed to protect customers, particularly individuals, where the safe delivery of promised benefits can be vital. One can observe that these frameworks do not guarantee that insurance markets develop in the same way. Insurers are more likely to set up their businesses in some countries than in others. There are also differences in: the number of policies, the amount of benefits and other indicators among European countries. The question is, whether we can talk about the internal market or rather a group of different national markets. Trying to answer this question, we have to take into account a set of variables that shows all the major aspects of integration. The main purpose of this study is evaluating the level of European markets integration by using multivariate statistical methods. We shall also compare results obtained owing to application of different methods and will try to explain similarities and differences between the obtained results.
Jednolity rynek ubezpieczeń funkcjonuje we Wspólnocie Europejskiej od 1993 r. (od wprowadzenia dyrektywy trzeciej generacji w ubezpieczeniach na życie). Jego działanie oparte jest na trzech podstawowych zasadach tworzących Unię Europejską, swobody tworzenia podmiotów gospodarczych, swobody świadczenia usług oraz przepływu kapitału między krajami. Celem rynku wewnętrznego w dziedzinie ubezpieczeń jest zagwarantowanie wszystkim mieszkańcom Wspólnoty dostępu do możliwie najszerszej gamy wysokiej jakości produktów ubezpieczeniowych oferowanych przez zakłady ubezpieczeń z obszaru całej Wspólnoty. Ubezpieczyciele upoważnieni do działania w jakimkolwiek państwie członkowskim mogą prowadzić swoją działalność na terenie całej Wspólnoty i podlegają takim samym zasadom nadzoru. Gwarantowane dyrektywami jednakowe warunki rozwoju sektora ubezpieczeń nie znajdują pełnego odzwierciedlenia w regulacjach wewnętrznych państw członkowskich. Część z nich, Poprzez sprzyjające regulacje podatkowe i administracyjne, jest zdecydowanie częściej wybierana przez zakłady ubezpieczeń jako państwo siedziby. Pozostaje więc otwarte pytanie, czy europejski rynek ubezpieczeń jest organizmem jednolitym? Próba odpowiedzi na to pytanie wiąże się z oceną stopnia integracji rynków ubezpieczeniowych w Unii Europejskiej. Ocena taka nie może ograniczać się do analizy tylko jednego wskaźnika ekonomiczno-ubezpieczeniowego, gdyż zagadnienie integracji rynków ubezpieczeniowych, jak wskazano, jest zjawiskiem wieloaspektowym. W celu dokonania poprawnej oceny stopnia integracji rynków można posłużyć się metodami statystyki wielowymiarowej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest określenie stopnia integracji rynków ubezpieczeniowych krajów Unii Europejskiej przy wykorzystaniu metod analizy wielowymiarowej. Równoległym celem jest porównanie wyników uzyskiwanych przy pomocy różnych metod statystyki wielowymiarowej i próba ich oceny.

This article examines, in a comparative perspective, the integration policy of the two, in many respects, very similar, neutral states, with particular emphasis on the period after the signing of the Single European Act. Despite the converging political and economic objectives, the decisions of both countries were determined by different economic and political conditions. For Austria, the integration processes were perceived as an important step, towards reconstruction of the economy, the abolition of trade barriers with the most important economic partner. In political terms integration – enhanced Austria’s position within European Community. Unlike the Austrian Government, the authorities in Bern have acted under much more polarized conditions. Neutrality played still very important role in its international policies and the social fears connected mostly to the loss of political and economic independence were vivid. The Swiss authorities were thus forced to choose the bilateral path, which was not preferred by EU countries, but more socially acceptable, and therefore easier to implement.

What happens when people of different cultures, values, religion live together? Sociological studies on immigrative phenomenon often swing between immigration and integration policies. These policies actually reveal the difficulty of the host society to institutionalize new models of social differences accompanying multiculturalism. Immigrants who “arrive” continue their life in a place where they do not passively participate in the passing of time, but become actors. Pressed by the hegemonic culture of the host society to adapt, do not cease to practice their religious and origin cultural expressions, often in conditions of urban spatial and social marginalization, they resist assimilation with ethnic persistence strategies. Considering the impact of religion and origin cultural values on expression of differences, it is important to consider their role in the integration process. And, above all-facilitate or hinder integration? These dynamics have been analyzed in a research study on immigrants’ integration process in Palermo. The main results are presented in this paper. In this case study, the research’s data hypothesizes a theoretical model of integration in which immigrants, free to express their religious and cultural differences, tend to reduce their perception of minority

The article is discussing both challenges and problems that emerge from an intensified cross-border integration, particularly in Europe, which is creating a sort of ‘cross-border regionalism’ that might be sought as a new constituent part of a complex, multi-level system of governance incorporating not only national, but also local/regional agents. Cross-border regionalism is thus not only a system of government, but also a system of ‘grass-rooted’ social and spatial (re)integration of borderlands. This process is closely related to the question of changing territoriality, preserving on the one hand the regional control and on the other hand re-acting societal and territorial co-dependence.

Italy is undoubtedly one of the key actors in the current international “migration crisis” in the Mediterranean region. The paper aims to provide an overview of both the opportunities and problems for the Italian integration policy as of today. The authors intend to indicate the role of civil organisations in the ‘Italian migration issue’ and to emphasize the uniqueness of their initiatives. The study will provide an insight into one of the major immigrant communities, the Africans, through the civil organisations which have been working with them. The paper, based especially on empirical field experiences, is the result of a two-and-a-half-year research in Italy with different scholarships, coupled with other field trips in several sub-Saharan African countries.

Opis:
Neosemantic noun-to-verb conversions such as beer → to beer, door → to door, pink → to pink, etc., constitute a particularly interesting field of study for Cognitive Linguistics in that they call for a discourse-guided and context-based analysis of meaning construction. The present article takes a closer look at the cognitive motivation for the conversion process involved in the noun-verb alterations with a view to explaining the semantics of some conversion formations in relation to the user-centred discourse context. The analysis developed in this article draws from the combined insights of Fauconnier and Turner’s (2002) Conceptual Integration Theory and Langacker’s (2005, 2008) Current Discourse Space.

The uncontrolled wave of immigrants to the European Union countries, which reached its peak in 2015, challenged not only the well-established system of asylum policies in the Member States but also revealed the fundamental differences among them concerning the so-called “immigration issue”. The article focuses on the mechanisms and institutions which evolved during the different waves of immigrants in Belgium and the Netherlands. It also looks for an answer to the question: is mass immigration to Europe a threat or an opportunity? Depending on one’s attitude to the topic, the answer may be positive or negative.

The postwar experience has shown that the implanting of European consciousness, or Europeanness, calls for coordinated efforts among the European institutions, national states, and NGOs. Such consciousness, a key pillar of the European integration, is necessary for the EU to effectively function and motivate member states’ − also the EU’s − citizens. And yet European institutions and EU governments show little interest in promoting the formation of this European consciousness. Pro-European social movements are weak, while anti- European ones gain strength. This désintéressement of the EU countries probably results from the conviction that the goal has been reached and that there is no more need for a widespread pro-European education of their societies. However analysis of the problem, and in particular of the interaction between European and national identities, shows that this is not the case. We fear that this lack of proactive measures mobilizing EU citizens to keep on struggling for a common Europe will lead to the erosion of existing achievements of integration within the EU, and undermine European values. It may threaten the future of the EU, which is not an ordinary integration grouping but a great peaceful, civilizational, social and economic project. Our hypothesis − positively verified in this article − is that the promotion of Europeanness in the EU societies is urgently needed to maintain the unity (and even membership) of the Union, and to avert trends unfavorable for all of Europe and therefore for the West as a whole.

This paper aims to understand the individual factors sustaining the migratory flow of Catholic priests to Italy. Priests’ migration cannot be seen as the mere result of lack of vocations and shortage of priests in the host country since their agency, belief, aspirations, and motivations affect their religious identity and, consequently, their integration and participation in the host country. Drawing on qualitative research, this paper collects the voices and the narratives of selected international priests living in Italy. Priests’ interviews led to broad-range questions about the nature of migration decisions and their integration into the host society and churches that originate from differences in religiosity, vocations, and missions. That resulted in a typology of 4 types of migrant priests: careerist priests, highly educated and integrated into the host country, driven by career and salary aspiration, and showing a highly politicized vision of religion; servant priests, with a strong missionary impulse to serve the Church as a universal institution transcending abstract and real boarders; evangelist priests who feel the moral obligation to evangelize secularized countries to bring them back to the origins of Catholicism; rebel priests who feel second-class priests, discriminated both within and outside the Church, in a country where they were forced to move, for this reason questioning their sense of clear vocational directions.

In den letzten Jahren ist Deutschland mit einer Flüchtlingsbewegung aus Ländern des Nahen Ostens wie Syrien und dem Irak konfrontiert. Für die meisten Neuankömmlinge stellt sich die Eingliederung in die deutsche Gesellschaft als besonders problematisch heraus. So müssen sie eine neue Sprache erlernen und eine ihnen fremde Lebensart und Kultur kennenlernen. Diesen enormen Herausforderungen sind nur wenige gewachsen. Eine überwältigende Mehrheit der Flüchtlinge scheitert am Integrationsversuch. In dem vorliegenden Aufsatz soll diese Problematik anhand von Ohrfeige des deutsch-irakischen Autors ABBAS KHIDER beleuchtet werden.
W ostatnich latach Niemcy skonfrontowane zostały z falą migracji z krajów Bliskiego Wschodu jak Syria czy Irak. Dla większości przybyszów szczególnie trudna jest integracja z niemieckim społeczeństwem. Muszą nauczyć się nowego języka i poznać inny sposób życia i obcą kulturę. Tylko niewielu jest w stanie sprostać tym wymaganiom. Zdecydowana większość migrantów nie daje sobie rady z życiem w obcym państwie. W artykule problematyka ta zostanie pokazana ma przykładzie powieści Ohrfeige niemiecko-irackiego autora ABBASA KHIDERA.
In recent years, Germany has been confronted with a wave of refugees from Middle Eastern countries, such as Syria and Iraq. For most of the newcomers, integration into German society turns out to be particularly problematic. They have to learn a new language and get to know a way of life and culture that is foreign to them. Only a few are up to these enormous challenges. An overwhelming majority of refugees often fail in their attempts at integration. This article aims to shed light on this problem, using the example of Ohrfeige by the German-Iraqi author ABBAS KHIDER.

The article explores the practice perspectives of European and Euro-Atlantic integration for the West’s Eastern neighbours with a focus on Ukraine in the main directions of cooperation: political, economic, security, and communication. It has been established that Eastern Partners show a dissimilar political interest in rapprochement with the EU and NATO due to the existence of diff foreign policy goals. The EU’s Association Agreements with Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova are primarily aimed at defending the European integration, so the states are interested in developing close trade relations, and in achieving open and sustainable economic growth. The results have shown that Ukraine’s deepening Euro-Atlantic ties are a continuation of the European course of the state’s development, since the interaction with the EU and NATO aims to expand transatlantic relations and create updated security formats. The article also analyses the mechanisms of improving the efficiency of the communication between the EU, NATO and Ukraine by informing the public about the progress of Ukraine’s integration into relevant structures, the reforms of the economic and security sectors of Ukraine, and its participation in the Alliance’s non-military initiatives. The findings suggest that the improvement of public communication tools increases the involvement of governments in implementing integration policy goals and identifying issues that need a further response. Additionally, the Ukrainian government should strategically focus on ensuring and implementing practical measures aimed at shaping the image of Ukraine as an intent partner that adheres to its political commitments.

The kind of economic state of emergency in need of all sorts of austerity measures the Greek society is entering, shockingly, brings about the fear even in liberal minds that the country cannot provide for all. In this paper I draw from my own newly conducted ethnographic study to explore two interconnected themes: the study of local aspects of integration of Sub-Saharan African migrants in the city center of Athens, Greece and the use of photographic images in ethnographic research. More specifically, the paper discusses the representations of difference via a series of contemporary street photographs depicting everyday life instances of African migrants in the city center of Athens. It thus creates a visual narrative of metropolitan life, which forms the basis for a discussion on three themes related to discourses on migrant integration in light of today’s economic crisis: a) the physical and social environment of marginalization, b) the migrant body, and c) the fear of the migrant.
