In this paper, we examine key factors that influence the risks of investment in the development of human capital of a firm in the IT sector and estimate their weight in the overall risk. In particular, we single out the risk of premature voluntary termination of an employee, the risk of ineffective training, and the risk of a firm’s incorrect employee development strategy. Moreover, to support management of the mentioned kinds of risks, we enumerate the factors that influence them and classify those factors into three main groups: related to the employee, related to the firm, and related to the external environment. Based on this division, we build a model for estimating the risks of investing in the development of personnel using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).

Przemiany w pedagogice wywołane wprowadzeniem tak zwanych umiejętności XXI wieku wywarły wpływ na nauczanie na poziomie od podstawowego po wyższe. Zgodnie z tym, co pisze Thompson (2014), nauczyciele akademiccy planujący kursy i programy nauczania powinni odpowiednio dostosować podejście metodyczne, aby takie umiejętności skutecznie rozwijać. W niniejszym artykule proponuję, aby do nauczania wiedzy i umiejętności z zakresu psychologii twórczości wykorzystać podejście zwane pedagogiką zaangażowania (por. z kształceniem podmiotowym, Stasiak 2005). Celem tego podejścia jest rozwój umiejętności twórczych oraz umiejętności skutecznego i głębokiego uczenia się poprzez zaangażowanie, rozwijanie motywacji oraz tworzenie. Główna część artykułu poświęcona jest opisowi trzech grup zadań zaprojektowanych na potrzeby kursu Psychologia Twórczości, przy współpracy Dr Heather Snyder. Zadania te obejmują prowadzenie dziennika, zadania związane z twórczym projektem oraz warsztaty twórczego rozwiązywania problemów. W dalszej części artykułu staram się pokazać, że te zadania – odpowiadające założeniom pedagogiki zaangażowania – nie tylko ułatwiają przyswajanie wiedzy i umiejętności akademickich, ale przede wszystkim rozwijają kreatywność na poziomie płynnym i skrystalizowanym.
The wave of changes in teaching approaches due to the introduction of the 21 century skills – including creativity and problem solving – has affected not only K through 12 classrooms, but also colleges and universities. Thompson (2014) suggests that when designing courses and curricula college educators should consider not only the content knowledge, skills and dispositions their students need to learn, but also what capacities ought to be developed and through what type of pedagogies. In this article, I propose that pedagogies of engagement are developed and used to teach content and skills in a college level course on Psychology of Creativity. In the main section of the article, I present three groups of creative assignments developed in collaboration with Dr. Heather Snyder: journal activities, creative project assignments, and creative problem-solving workshops. I argue that these assignments not only affect students’ motivation, engagement, and deep learning, but they also facilitate the development of mini-c and little-c creativity.

The article described dramas of Jan Bełcikowski, Roman Borelowski and Władysław Banduski. They were written to grace the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Piotr Skarga’s death in 1912. These texts were performed in Cracow and Lvov. Skarga was created as a romantic visionary and the prophet. These creations corresponded to a lofty tonality of jubilee celebrations. The article brings issues of the construction of characters. A problem of the adaptation of Skarga’s texts is also taken into account. Authors intercepted especially excerpts of Kazania sejmowe. The article takes under consideration description of the historical background. Dramas which are subject of the article met with unfavourable opinions of historians of literature. They accused dramas, that aren’t growing beyond the level of “occasional works”, which are marked by a schematism and a naivety. However, these charges weren’t confirmed with any analysis. That is why, the article tries to answer the question of what caused the negative evaluation of these literary productions and whether indeed these dramas are deserving of so explicitly negative evaluation.

The article is analysing dramas from school theatres written between the 16th and the 18th century, containing the infanticide motive. It is seen that infanticide varies in different plays. In no case was it a main theme of dramas. Infanticide was an important component of the plot in martyrological plays. These dramas showed the heroism of martyrs and concentrated on the details of the felony. At the same time, in other plays, manslaughter of the child constitutes a subplot. Very often, the motive for killing children was the anxiety about loss of power. In many dramas, justification for committing such a crime was more important than the crime itself. Manslaughter of children probably was not portrayed directly on stage, according to the rules included in „Ratio Studiorum”. It is possible that it was portrayed with the help of allegorical images or with the magic lantern.

Opis:
Diabetes is an incurable disease. Recently researchers are focusing more often on the role of the social support in diabetes treatment. It seams that support from family and friends plays a big role in the results of the disease treatment. Lack of such support may decrease patients’ treatment motivations. The aim of this study was to estimate the relationship between social support and metabolic control. The group which was examined consisted of 35 people with type 2 diabetes not treated with insulin and 31 who were on insulin. The Social Support Inventory by Saranson and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) for glycemic control were used in this study. The research indicates that poorer metabolic control was correlated with the lack of social support.

A number of cases of the bishops of Constantinople exiled over a period until as late as the close of the 6th century prove the fact that the rulers would always make an effort to remove the deposed bishops from the City, even though relocating the latter to specific destinations did not always have to be the case. In the 4th century, the bishops could withdraw to suburban districts or settle at their own estates, and it was not until the 5th century that depositions of the metropolitan bishops would involve, in principle, being deported to a specific place of exile. The purpose behind banishing a bishop from the City and putting him under supervision at a certain location was to prevent him from exerting any influence on the faithful in Constantinople. It should be also noted that sending a person into exile was a form of punishment, especially when the destination was a remote location exposed to harsh weather conditions or the threat of sudden incursions by bands of nomads or brigands. Results of an analysis of the accessibility of exile destinations provide substantial evidence for an overwhelming proportion of inland urban localities. Although many of such places would be located along or near various roads, they were generally situated far from the coast or the main routes to Constantinople.

The notions of a C-energetic subset and (anti) permeable C-value in BCK-algebras are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Conditions for an element t in [0, 1] to be an (anti) permeable C-value are provided. Also conditions for a subset to be a C-energetic subset are discussed. We decompose BCK-algebra by a partition which consists of a C-energetic subset and a commutative ideal.

As part of growing efforts to understand factors affecting c-test this study aims to investigate the effect of text authenticity on the performance of Iranian EFL students in a C-Test. The C-Test is an integrative testing instrument that measures overall language competence, very much like the cloze test. In this study the rule of two has been applied: "the second half of every second word has been deleted, beginning with the second word of the second sentence; the first and last sentences are left intact" (Katona and Dornyei 1993: 35). The research involves 60 college students in their third year, majoring in English Literature at Ershad-Damavand College. This group were randomly selected applying multi-stage sampling. Since the present study intended to investigate the role of two different formats, i.e. authentic and inauthentic texts (text translated from Persian into English), two different tailored C-Tests were made to measure and compare the performances of the participants. Two C-Tests, one with Authentic Text and the other, with Inauthentic Text were administered to this homogenized group comprising 30 subjects. The findings of this study suggest that authenticity has an effect on the performance of learners in c-tests and we should control this variable while devising a c-test.

Opis:
The article is analysing literary portraits of Polish kings, which Jan Bielski took from the „Vitae Regum Polonorum” by Klemens Janicki. The Jesuit placed those short poems in his book „Widok Królestwa Polskiego” — a kind of history and geography textbook. Bielski’s paraphrases supple- mented most chapters of the book, constituted the poetic summary and at the same time enable to formulate the evaluation of kings. Bielski’s poems are most often a faithful paraphrase, preserving the plot of the original. The Jesuit made only a few changes. Most of them reveal on the stylistic plain, rarely on the content plain.

VAT is the main indirect tax in Ukraine, among other countries, providing one of the largest items of state budget revenues. The presence of the VAT refund procedure and the need to cover public spending with the revenues from VAT administration require that an effective method of planning and forecasting VAT revenues for the new fiscal year be used. The purpose of the article was to analyze the effectiveness of two methods of forecasting of VAT revenues, such as the moving average method and the method of correlation and regression. This was done by analysing the effectiveness of forecasts made for previous years and comparing them with actual data to make the forecast of VAT revenues using these methods for 2014–2016 years and identifying the main causes of problems in the forecasting process. The results show that the forecasts based on two methods (correlation and regression analysis and double moving average) are sufficiently accurate. After making certain adjustments, these methods can be used at the national level.

The article analyses the motifs of faith, sacrifice and transcendence as well as a variety of methods in which they are represented in the dramatic works of W.B. Yeats. The article also tackles the difficult theme of creating national myths through dramatic and political activity that Yeats was so keen to engage with. Additionally, Wąchocka discusses the mythological imagination in Yeats’s drama in the context of the Celtic mythological tradition, pointing to how certain motifs and subjects (especially lives of gods and heroes) find their way into his plays. Wąchocka pays particular attention to the irrational, subconscious elements in Yeats’s work, identifying a variety of traditions he was drawing his inspiration from. The article also discusses the topic of reincarnation, and the theme of return to life of Yeats’s heroes, and interprets images and symbols used to represent them.

Diabetes in an incurable disease. The diabetes treatment consists of keeping the blood glucose at a low level. The first aim of this study was to estimate the relationship between anxiety of healthy women and women with type 2 diabetes The second aim was to estimate the relationship between anxiety and metabolic control in diabetic women. The first group which was examined consisted of 66 women with type 2 diabetes who were at hospital and second group was formed of 66 healthy women. The average age of both groups was 53. I used the State Trait anxiety Inventory (STAI) by C. D. Spilbergera and glycosylated hemoglobin for glycemic control. The research indicates that the diabetic women had a significantly higher level of trait anxiety and poorer metabolic control was correlated with state anxiety.

The paper wishes to document a recent trend visible in the Hungarian independent theatre scene – a turn towards social, political issues, as well as a growing sensitivity towards the visible tensions in Hungarian political discourse. It does so through the analysis and the contextualization of two recent Hungarian independent theatrical productions. Studio K’s 2019 Sacra Hungarica is an in-your-face attempt to portray the current distortion of the language and the abuse language is used for, while Béla Pintér’s Blood Red, Off-White, Dark Green, a clever Oedipus Rex paraphrase that depicts marginalization, racism, and nationalism in a pointedly non-pc allegory. The essay introduces the status of independent theatre vis-à-vis politics after 1989 and will delineate the changes the conservative governments brought into the alternative scene. Then, through an in-depth analysis of the above-mentioned two productions, it discusses the various means of theatricality they use to comment on contemporary Hungary.

The article aims at transferring the European Creativity Index (ECI) assessment from the country to regional comparison basis, focusing on the case of Slovakia. The newly created Slovak Creativity Index (SCI) has the power to assess the creativity potential found in the Slovak regions. The Principal Component Analysis has been chosen as an advanced method for establishing a well-designed overall Index and six sub-indices to show differences and variability according to all dimensions of the creative potential. The research also explains several relations between creative performance of the regions by several factors such as urbanisation, cultural environment, human capital and tolerance.
