Does the interest of a person go beyond the limits of her life? In the article we advocate the realistic view, proclaiming that interests of a person continues even after her death. In contemporary philosophy the realistic view of the post-mortem interests, already outlined by Aristotle, had been delivered by Joel Feinberg. The paper associates an ontological thread with a moral philosophy and general reflection on the notion of a person. Developing the Timothy Chappell’s idea, we introduce the term of personal stance, which is an aspect of the proleptic nature of the concept of a person. Since personal stance includes also a dead person, she belongs to the primary moral constituency. This fact clarifies our concern for the posthumous fate. Lastly, we argue that in the light of private law posthumous interests are to be understood as personal rights.

Opis:
Opieka nad osobą z chorobą Alzheimera jest nie tylko wyczerpująca fizycznie i emocjonalnie, ale może też wiązać się z wysokimi kosztami finansowymi. Problem ten nabiera szczególnego znaczenia w obliczu procesu starzenia się jednostki i społeczeństwa oraz rosnącej liczby osób z chorobą Alzheimera. Opieka nad osobą z alzheimerem naraża opiekunów na wysokie ryzyko obniżenia jakości życia, szczególnie dotyczy to opiekunów rodzinnych, którzy są emocjonalnie związani z pacjentem. Celem było rozpoznanie i przedstawienie ich społecznego świata na podstawie narracji będącej subiektywną rekonstrukcją ich historii życia. Do badań wykorzystano autobiograficzny wywiad narracyjny, zaproponowany przez F. Schütza, który opracował metodę jako spójną koncepcję badań biograficznych. Zebrany materiał empiryczny (50 wywiadów) został poddany analizie, umożliwiając udzielenie odpowiedzi na postawione pytania i sformułowanie wniosków, co pozwoliło na wzbogacenie posiadanej wiedzy o jakościowy aspekt analizy.
Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is not only exhausting physically and emotionally, but can also have high financial costs. This problem becomes of a special importance in the presence of an aging process of individual as well as the society, and in light of a growing number of people with AD. Caring for person with AD constitutes a high risk of a decreased quality of life of the caregiviers; it is especially true with regard to family caregivers, who are emotionally connected with the patient. Therefore, the aim of the study was to recognize and present their social world on the basis of a narrative which is a subjective, namely a reconstruction of their life history. The technique of an autobiographical narrative interview was used for the research, as proposed by F. Schütz, who developed the method as a cohesive concept of biographical research. The collected empirical material (50 interviews) was analyzed, providing answers to the posed questions and allowing the formulation of conclusions, which made it possible to enrich the existing knowledge with the qualitative aspect of the analysis.

This article discusses the concept of a person in Edith Stein’s philosophical anthropology. It is a key-concept of Stein’s early and later philosophical theories. I discuss the properties and conditions of being a person, in particular: spirituality, rationality, freedom, being an ego and the individuality of persons. Analysis is confronted with the historical beginnings of the term ‘person’. The main focus of the article is the relation between the two concepts: ‘person’ and ‘human being’. Thus, the article’s final section discusses the exclusive character of Stein’s theory of a person.

Opis:
Currently we are witnessing the clash of two trends in social policy towards people with intellectual disabilities. The first stems from the idea of equality, it is predominant and is well rooted in the public consciousness. The second, due to the diversity of ideas, is an announcement non-heterosexual people or former prisoners. of the upcoming changes. The idea of diversity has already had an impact on social policy towards. I deal with questions relating to the first stream – the policy of equal opportunities. The article is empirical. I analyze the practice of professional activation of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of equal opportunities policy, which is an exemplification of symbolic violence contained in the way of understanding the concept of “a person with intellectual disabilities”. I try to show that the theoretical constructs, promoted by the experts of the dominant public discourse, impose ways of working within the framework of social policy. The construct “mentally retarded” harnesses the essence of being a handicap, and construct “a person with intellectual disabilities” throws out intellectual disability, making handicapped Normals harder educated. In this way, the language allows the operation of a discriminatory nature in the name of noble ideas.
Obecnie jesteśmy świadkami ścierania się dwóch nurtów w polityce społecznej wobec osób niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie. Pierwszy z nich wynika z idei równości, ma charakter dominujący i jest dobrze zakorzeniony w świadomości społecznej. Drugi wynika z idei różnorodności i stanowi zapowiedź nadchodzących zmian. Idea różnorodności wywarła już wpływ na politykę społeczną wobec osób nieheteroseksualnych czy byłych więźniów. Osobiście zajmuję się problematyką związaną z pierwszym nurtem, a więc polityką równych szans. Artykuł ma charakter empiryczny. Analizuję praktyki aktywizacji zawodowej osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w ramach polityki równych szans, które są egzemplifikacją przemocy symbolicznej zawartej w samym sposobie rozumienia pojęcia „osoba z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną”. Próbuję pokazać, że konstrukty teoretyczne promowane przez ekspertów dominujących w dyskursie publicznym narzucają sposoby działania w ramach polityki społecznej. Konstrukt „upośledzony umysłowo” wprzęga w istotę bycia upośledzenie, natomiast konstrukt „osoba z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną” wyrzuca na zewnątrz niepełnosprawność intelektualną, czyniąc z upośledzonego normalsa trudniej wyuczalnego. W taki sposób język umożliwia działania o charakterze dyskryminującym w imię szlachetnej idei.

Artykuł podejmuje tematykę uregulowania prawnego z art. 138 § 1 o.p., w myśl którego organ podatkowy zobligowany jest do wystąpienia do sądu z wnioskiem o wyznaczenie kuratora dla osoby niezdolnej do czynności prawnych lub osoby nieobecnej. Autorzy podkreślają, że przepis art. 138 § 1 o.p. gwarantuje osobie fizycznej niezdolnej do czynności prawnych lub nieobecnej, iż poprzez wyznaczenie kuratora wszczęcie i prowadzenie postępowania podatkowego odbywać się będzie przy zapewnieniu jej należytej reprezentacji w każdym jego stadium.
The article deals with the subject of the legal regulation in Article 138 § 1 of the Tax Ordinance Act (TOA), according to which the tax authority is obliged to apply to the court for the appointment of a curator for a person incapable of legal actions or an absent person. The author stresses that the provision of Article 138 § 1 of the TOA guarantees to a natural person who is incapacitated or absent that, through the appointment of a curator, the initiation and conduct of tax proceedings will take place while ensuring his/her proper representation at each of their stages.

The aim of the paper is an attempt to show that the personalist economy – by referring to the idea of a person, containing and expressing all the dimensions of being human in relation to the world of people and things – provides the ability to integrate issues of ethics and economics. To achieve this goal, first, the concept of personalist economics will be presented. Then, ideas common for economics and the ethics of space, which can be a basis for integrating their issues, will be identified and characterized. Finally, the author tries to present the consequences which may result from such an integration, both for the economy as a science and as a practice of everyday life.

W artykule przedstawiono, w jaki sposób przebiegało kształtowanie się twórców internetowych, czyli osób zajmujących się wytwarzaniem autorskich treści zamieszczanych w mediach społecznościowych, na stronach internetowych itp. Rozpatrując uwarunkowania indywidualne i społeczne tego procesu, szczególną rolę przypisano kontekstowi technologiczno-medialnemu, znacząco wpływającemu na ich dorastanie oraz tworzenie. Jako ramę teoretyczną wykorzystano koncepcję sieciowych imigrantów/tubylców, a rozważania oparto na sześciu autobiograficznych wywiadach narracyjnych z twórcami internetowymi reprezentującymi zróżnicowane obszary zainteresowań. Ich analiza dowiodła, że doświadczenia z technologiami informacyjno-komunikacyjnymi „nie mieszczą się” w proponowanej typologii, gdyż narratorzy stosują zindywidualizowane strategie uczenia się ich oraz ich użytkowania.
The article presents how the formation of online creators, i.e. people engaged in the production of original content posted on social media, websites, podcasts, etc., took place. Considering the individual and social conditions of this process, a special role was assigned to the technological and media context, significantly influencing the narrators’ adolescence and creation. The concept of digital natives/digital immigrants was used as a theoretical framework. The considerations were based on six autobiographical narrative interviews with online creators representing diverse areas of interest. Their analysis proved that experiences with ICTs “do not fit” into the proposed typology; the narrators individualized strategies for learning them and their use.

The research results presented below are a part of a larger project aimed at describing the situation of single people in Poland. The research was carried out using a qualitative strategy. This article focuses on men living without a partner, either permanently or temporarily. The perspective of socioculturalgender was taken under consideration when designing the research. It was an essential tool of data analysis, its interpretation, and reduction. In the first part of this article the adopted theoretical concepts and research assumptions are presented. The notions determining the research design were introduced in the following order: the definition of a single person, in the synthetic depiction, and S.L. Bem’s concept of a socioculturalgender. A model of a single man popularized by the media is also referred to. The second part contains the characteristics of a methodological research project complying with the above assumptions. The part reporting on the findings includes reconstructed definitions of a single man delivered by the men analyzed, who represented various types of socioculturalgender. The object of the description is also an interpretation of the situation of being single from the perspective of choice and satisfaction with this alternative form of conjugal and family life. The definitions of masculinity and femininity characteristic for the type of socioculturalgender presented by the objects of study as well as preferences concerning one’s potential partner are also presented. At the final stage men’s topology, formed on the basis of sociocultural gender and complying with successively described categories of analysis, is presented.

Social, economic and cultural transformations of the Polish countryside over the last few dozen years have resulted in the disappearance of many professions, such as, i.a. the profession of an animal castrator, who worked mostly in pig farms. The aim of this paper is to indicate the semantic elements in derivational bases (charaszać, charszować, czyścić, kastrować, krasać, miśić, miśkować) and formal exponents constituting derivatives to name a person who castrates animals (‑acz, ‑aj, ‑ak, ‑ek, ‑nik, ‑ajko, ‑ciel, ‑un, ‑ator, ‑arz, ‑ø). Apart from that, the author intends to discuss the geographical range of those derivatives, not only in the borderland region, but in the whole Polish dialect area. Moreover, the paper discusses the issues of lexical, see kras‑ak / mis‑ak, kastrow‑ak / kras‑ak and word-formation variants, see czyszcz‑acz - czyszcz‑ak - czyszcz‑arz - czyśc‑iciel. The analysed material originates in the dialects of the Lesser Poland and Masovia borderland and it was collected in 2008–2011 from 32 villages.

The article reflects on the text-based issues connected with producing chosen written forms in Polish as a foreign language classroom. It discusses the structure of a composition describing one’s friend written by students who learn Polish in the School of Polish for Foreigners at the University of Lodz. The article shows the global structure of these forms, their division, text delimitation and the use of metatext. It also analyses the degree of students’ mastery of the new composition skills that had been acquired in writing classes. It gives some examples of exercises, which are useful in teaching the structure of the descriptive essay about a person.
Artykuł podejmuje pewne zagadnienia tekstowe związane z produkcją form pisemnych na lekcjach języka polskiego jako obcego. Jest próbą analizy kompozycji charakterystyk przyjaciela pisanych przez słuchaczy Studium Języka Polskiego dla Cudzoziemców UŁ. Ukazuje globalną strukturę tych prac, ich podziały formalne, delimitację tekstu oraz użycie wypowiedzi metatekstowych. Bada ponadto stopień opanowania przez studentów treści nauczania, które nabyli podczas zajęć omawiających technikę pisania charakterystyki bezpośredniej. Podaje przykłady ćwiczeń dydaktycznych przydatnych cudzoziemcom w prawidłowej realizacji wzorca omawianej formy pisemnej.

The study of Father Wiktor Krąkowski’s life (1827–1880) has been divided into two parts due to space constrains. This is the first part presenting his young years, including the time he spent in school, mainly in the seminary in Włocławek, and his church career up to 1853. It includes information about his ancestors and closest relatives and attempts to explain the etymology of his name. Source material for the article consists mostly of church court records, hence much attention is devoted to disputes between young curate Krąkowski and his superiors – vicars of the successive parishes where he was designated. The conflicts arose as a result of his efforts to secure satisfactory livelihood for his mother and siblings.

Opis:
Seniors suffering from dementia are always exposed to a reductive approach and depersonalization due to the specificity of that disease. The subjectivity of a senior is neglected or even completely negated. What remains unnoticed is the fact that, despite their disease, a senior is still a person – with the rights and needs of a person – and not just a helpless patient. The paper presents a break that has been made in the understanding and care of seniors with dementia thanks to the work of Tom Kitwood, a British psychologist. In Kitwood’s Person-Centred Care model, a person is defined as a relational, feeling, and historical being. At the same time, being a person is only possible in the interpersonal context. Hence the author's suggestion to read Kitwood’s concept from the angle of the philosophy of dialogue, which is always an affirmation of subjectivity and an opposition to tendencies that reify human beings. In the author’s opinion, Kitwood translated the main postulates of the philosophy of dialogue into the language of psychology, gerontology and senior care by operationalizing the indicators of the well-being of a patient with dementia.
Seniorzy cierpiący na demencję, ze względu na specyfikę tej choroby, narażeni są zawsze na podejście redukcyjne i depersonalizujące. Zaniedbywany lub nawet całkowicie negowany jest wówczas wymiar podmiotowości seniora oraz to, że pomimo choroby pozostaje on nadal osobą – z prawami i potrzebami osoby – a nie jedynie bezradnym pacjentem. Artykuł przedstawia zwrot, jaki dokonał się w rozumieniu seniorów z demencją oraz opiece nad nimi dzięki pracy brytyjskiego psychologa Toma Kitwooda. W modelu Person-Centered Care osoba definiowana jest jako istota relacyjna, czująca i historyczna. Jednocześnie bycie osobą jest możliwie jedynie w kontekście interpersonalnym. Stąd wynika propozycja autorki artykułu, aby koncepcję Toma Kitwooda odczytać przez pryzmat filozofii dialogu, będącej zawsze afirmacją podmiotowości i sprzeciwem wobec tendencji reifikujących człowieka. Zdaniem autorki, Tom Kitwood, operacjonalizując wyznaczniki dobrostanu pacjenta z demencją, przetłumaczył główne postulaty filozofii dialogu na język psychologii, gerontologii i opieki senioralnej.
