    The paper presents the concept of an expert system supporting knowledge management. The rule-based expert system (RES) uses original, proprietary solutions: a self-organizing Horn clauses table, which simplifies editing and recording of knowledge bases as well as conversion and deduction expert spreadsheets - combining the possibilities of a spreadsheet (algebraic models) with forward deduction expert system, (logical models). The proposed system can be applied in early warning systems and risk management.

    The paper presents the conception of the system supporting management in the area of knowledge management in mechanical engineering industry enterprises. Specified conditions and assumptions for the construction of the working out IT system were given. The detailed structural range of the information system was discussed. Additionally, the authors presented the universal tool, knowledge network system KNS, which is useful in dealing with qualitative information, which frequently occur in knowledge management.

    Based on questionnaire surveys conducted in selected mechanical engineering industry enterprises the authors presented users’ expectations in the range of created system supporting knowledge management. The analysis was carried out to determine the IT tools which are necessary in the process of building the system supporting knowledge management. Based on undertaken investigations the conception of the functional range of the system supporting knowledge management was given to potential users of the system.

    Opis:
    Today, the majority of resources are available in digital forms to acquire information. We have to search through collections of documents. In this paper text indexing which can improve searching is described. Next, indexing tool, the Agrotagger, which is useful for documents in the field of agriculture, is presented. Two available versions of the Agrotagger are tested and discussed. The Agrotagger is useful only for the English language despite the fact that it uses multilingual thesaurus Agrovoc. Because of the Agrotagger is not useful for texts in Polish, it is important to create similar tool appropriate for the Polish language. The problems connected with extensive inflection in languages such as Polish language in the process of indexing were discussed. In the final part of the paper, it is presented design and implementation of a system, based on the Polish language dictionary and the Agrovoc. Additionally some tests of implemented system are discussed.

    Ontologies recently have important role especially in knowledge management systems dedicated for agriculture. In the paper, issues related to indexing documents against the ontology, are presented and discussed. Problems with indexing documents in Polish language which has an extensive inflection are described. There are presented and discussed examples of ontologies and thesauri in the field of life sciences, in particular possible to use to describe aspects of plant production. We have tested Agrotagger the existing tool for indexing agricultural texts with publication in Polish. Original software developed for indexing web pages in Polish against potato ontology is described. In the final part some conclusions and plans for further research are formulated.

    Multi-criteria evaluation of complex phenomena is an important part of decision problems. The multi-criteria evaluations are different types of difficulties, in particular, the multiplicity and diversity of the assessed phenomena, the multiplicity and the variety of diagnostic variables characterizing the evaluated phenomenon, the difficulty to transform the quality characteristics of quantitative traits, the difficulty of aggregating sub-criteria. This paper presents selected models of multi-criteria evaluation corresponding to different decision-making situations. These models will be applied in the system supporting management in the area of knowledge management in mechanical engineering industry enterprises.

    The purpose of this publication is to present the knowledge management and recommendations of IT tools in foresight scenarios of Wielkopolska development. The presented work was created based on analysis of development scenarios, resulting from research carried out in research projects: "Foresight – Wielkopolska economic networks. Scenarios of knowledge transformation supporting innovative economy" and “Wielkopolska Foresight". The article contains information about the nature of Foresight. Furthermore, it presents the concept of knowledge and knowledge management as a basis to promote region's innovativeness. Further part of the work contains collected and systematized recommendations regarding the knowledge management in Wielkopolska. The last part indicates main directions of Wielkopolska development strategy about knowledge management.

    The paper considers concepts of Living Labs and e-learning used as a main medium for organizations and individuals collaboration. A living lab is engaging users, companies, universities, governmental bodies in research and innovation a usercentered, open-innovation ecosystem. E-learning techniques, especially Learning Objects pay special role in such environments as they are able to collect and distribute information and knowledge. The paper considers diagrams showing information flow within Living Labs and internal structure of Learning Objects with more user centered approach.
