- In this work are defined steels requirements, which are used in the construction of semi-trailers car. Mechanical properties and fatigue of selected high-strength steel are shown in the paper. Complete characterization of the tested materials will be the base to identify new applications of these material in the construction of semi-trailers. From the practical point of view the durability of some components in the automotive industry and similar technical applications such as special semitrailers is ranging between 108 and 1010 cycles. But, only few experimental results beyond 107 cycles are available now. The main objective of this research was to provide independent results to the company which uses Hardox steel in the construction of semitrailers.
