Opis:
Machine failures in each production system cause an increase in costs and delays in order execution. Therefore, companies decide to introduce solutions that detect and immediately remove worrying symptoms before more serious consequences occur. Unfortunately, not all failures can be avoided – in such cases, the most important thing is the quick reaction of machine operators, maintenance and production managers. This paper identifies reliability indicators and presents the steps and effects of implementing selected KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), which aim at the production process. For the machines in which a failure occurred in the surveyed period, technical availability, Mean Times Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Down Time (MDT), technical object readiness, and the downtime coefficient were calculated.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of soil testing in selected sites of Ostrava city. Soil samples were collected from nine parks in Ostrava from three different depths using a drill. The sites from which the samples were collected are areas near trees and open space. Each of them is located in a different part of the city and is affected by different types of pollution. Soil is one of the resources that very often cannot be reclaimed. This process is spread over time, and restoring land to public use without negative human impact is very costly and long-lasting. The analysis will allow to determine the impact of mining operations on soils in selected places of Ostrava city. The results are compared with the maximum permissible concentrations of harmful elements according to the Regulation of the Ministry of Environment on land protection. Keywords: mining, exploitation, environment, soil, Ostrava.

Opis:
The revitalization of mining dumps in the Silesian agglomeration is a very difficult and complex problem. It has a substantial impact on the concepts of sustainable urban development. Other than the key areas including people, the environment and the economy, revitalization also refers to spatial management, and thus to a significant improvement in the functioning conditions of the local cities’ communities. The article describes an algorithm assessing the possibilities of revitalizing a mining dump by one of the Polska Grupa Górnicza’s mines. With legal status and location taken into account, several potential scenarios had been proposed, out of which one was chosen based on the adopted criteria. The chosen scenario had been subjected to further assessment using analyses such as SWOT/TOWS, FMEA, and QFD. The analyses had been carried out in order to acquire more effective and meaningful assessments, having taken social and economic aspects into consideration. In effect of the carried out analysis a recreational scenario was proposed. The adopted solution shows that the mine can continue its work in accordance with the principle of sustainable development as well as apply the concept of corporate social responsibility.

Opis:
Companies should constantly seek the causes and sources of irregularities. For this purpose, known and widely used quality management methods and tools should be used. Thanks to them, organizations will be able to identify key irregularities and then seek solutions for correction and improvement. Achieving high reliability of products, companies are able to fully meet their consumers’ needs. The paper explains the basic concepts related to quality. However, the most important issue is to present an example of solution using the Poka Yoke method, for an electronics company. The company specializes in the production and development of electronic and electromechanical components, for industries of different categories: household appliances, energy, automotive. The presented solution for improvement concerns modernization of workstations.
