Opis:
Partial discharge monitoring is an effective on-line predictive maintenance test for 6 kV motors. An understanding of the theory related to partial discharge, and the relationship to early detection of insulation deterioration is required to properly evaluate this predictive maintenance tool. This paper will present a theory to promote the understanding of partial discharge technology, as well as various implementation and measurement techniques that have evolved in the industry. Data interpretation, corrective actions and application to electrical distribution equipment will also bereviewed.

Opis:
The paper present results of measurements of selected parameters of microclimate and their effects on the emission of partial discharge of electrical machines. The study was conducted in industrial conditions by measuring the air temperature, radiant temperature, air speed and relative humidity of air at the same time recording the condition of PD induction motor, an annular high-voltage high-power, which is one of the drives critical cement. Based on the survey findings will be formulated which will define the relationship between changing climate and emission magnitudes of partial discharges.

Opis:
Partial discharges accompanying operation of electric motors have a very complex nature. On-line measurements require specialist partial discharge detectors and partial discharge analysing devices. The analysis of signals for diagnostic purposes should be conducted taking into account phase-resolved distributions and mutual correlations between partial discharges and load, temperature and humidity. Together with progressing use of motors, there is a change in the intensity of partial discharges with typical phase-resolved distributions and typical types of correlations. The paper presents results of measurements of partial discharges in industrial motors, including the correlation function, in particular the Pearson's linear correlation coefficient for parameters of partial discharges as well as load, temperature and humidity. Further research in this respect is necessary.

The article presents experience of the author in use of antenna detectors for measurements of partial discharges in electric motors. The measurements aim at off-line and on-line evaluation of the condition of winding insulations. The author presents results of his own research, in particular discussing antennas based on RTDs, strip, loop and mobile antennas. The author demonstrates high usefulness of RTD-type antenna systems together with antenna assemblies in measurements of partial discharges in motors. Measurements of partial discharges by individual RTDs situated in motors enable to locate the place of partial discharge generation, i.e. the place where winding insulations are weakened. Antenna detectors are very useful to measurements of partial discharges and on-line diagnostics of the condition of winding insulations. The author's solutions regarding detectors for measurements of partial discharges in electric machines in industrial conditions have proved to be successful.

Partial discharge measurement and subsequent analyses is one of important and capable test of electro-technological diagnostics. This test evaluates the properties of electrical insulation system of electrical machines and devices. There are a lot of partial discharge test methods based on physical or chemical detection of partial discharge. The detection of electromagnetic field, produced during partial discharge, with capacitive coupler and subsequent data analysis and representation is one of mentioned diagnostic method. The special software program was created for measured data evaluation. This program converts data stored by digital oscilloscope to more comfortable text formats. The converted data are analyzed by common software Matlab, Statistica, etc.

Opis:
The phenomena that appear in electrical motors insulation due to pulse voltage coming from inverters can depend on both the pulse voltage parameters as dimensions and characteristics of insulation. The result of investigation of dielectric properties as well durability and PDIV of various models of turn insulation (the twisted pairs and parallel wound helical coils with different number of coils) are presented in this paper. The “size effect” observed by group of Japan researchers under very short pulse duration have been not confirmed in our results under other pulse voltage. Because the size effect could be important for inverter-fed motors, the testing should be performed under pulse voltage that followed the real conditions. Probably the existing standard IEC 62068-1 specifies too extensive parameters of test pulse voltage.

During own tests, the authors have developed own structures of antenna detectors based on RTDs, used for measurement of partial discharges in electric machines. The detectors can still measure the temperature. The author demonstrate high usefulness of RTD-type antenna systems in measurements of partial discharges in motors. Measuring instruments can be installed without stopping the motor, using factory-made temperature sensors and their take-offs located outside of the motor. The measurement of partial discharges by individual RTDs situated in motors enables to locate the place of partial discharge generation, i.e. the place where winding insulations are weakened. The authors suggest to include the aforementioned comments in design of new electric motors in order to ensure factory preparation of motors for such measurements.

Operation of electric machines is accompanied by partial discharges. Partial discharges have a very complex nature. Together with progressing use of machines, there is a change in the intensity of partial discharges with typical phase-resolved distributions. The diagnostics can be carried out using available partial charge detectors, in particular based on factory Pt100 thermoresistors equipped additionally in antenna assemblies. The author's solutions regarding detectors for measurements of partial discharges in electric machines in industrial conditions have proved to be successful. Results of measurements of partial discharges in motors depend on: the condition of their insulation, motor load, temperature of windings, humidity, level of external interference, and characteristics of partial discharge detectors and partial discharge analysing devices.

Metodyka badań izolacji elementarnych przewodów nie jest jednoznacznie określona. Polskie normy w tym zakresie są liberalne i odsyłają do norm zakładowych. Izolacja przewodów jest główną przyczyną awarii maszyn, gdyż ulegając uszkodzeniu tworzy obwody pasożytnicze w których generują się dodatkowe straty mocy, zwłaszcza w miejscu zwarcia. Temperatura lokalna, powiększająca się z czasem eksploatacji, degraduje izolację zwojową i główną uzwojenia. W czasie wszystkich operacji technologicznych wykonania uzwojenia, od profilowania i izolowania pojedynczych drutów do montażu, zwłaszcza ostatnich cewek pętlicowych lub prętowych, należy prowadzić kontrolę jakości izolacji. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na badania izolacji metodą wyładowań niezupełnych /wnz/, która jest przydatna do oceny jakości wykonanego uzwojenia natomiast, z uwagi na zakłócenia jest mało przydatna do badań diagnostycznych maszyn w warunkach eksploatacyjnych. W badaniach diagnostycznych poleca się metodę prądu stałego.

The majority of failures of interturn insulation system of inverter-fed motors are attributed to partial discharges therefore determining of Corona Inception Voltage (CIV) is essential. However the investigation of CIV under pulse voltage leads to problems and some researchers performed the alternative of measurements using sinusoidal voltages. In this paper the simple way of determining of CIV of enamelled winding wires under high frequency pulse voltage with oscilloscope has been shown. The dependence of Corona Inception Voltage versus kind of enamel, insulation thickness, frequency of pulse voltage and temperature has been presented. It was found that mainly thickness of insulation and temperature influences on the level of voltage at which partial discharges has begun. The obtained CIV results were verified by testing of endurance of insulation under pulse voltage.

In modern branches of the industry in technically developed countries, electrical machines are increasingly covered by on-line diagnostics involving the condition of winding insulation based on the measurement of partial discharges. The nature of partial discharges accompanying operation of electrical machines is very complex. PD on-line measurements require specialist PD sensors and instruments that analyse PD signals. The analysis of signals for diagnostic purposes should be carried out taking into account the phase-resolved distributions and mutual correlations between PD and load, temperature, humidity and vibrations.

Opis:
The correct detection of partial discharge in a partial discharge analyser requires an appropriate level of pulse amplitude. Thermoresistors PT100 which form part of so called antenna detectors are often used as the source of the measuring signal. The output signal amplitude of such detectors ranges between several to several dozen millivolts. However, the pulse signal amplitude obtained from such a detector is not always sufficient to take a measure using instruments with typical measuring ranges. An antenna detector with an amplifier may be a solution to this problem. This article presents the construction of a passive detector, as well as an active detector developed on that basis. Examples of signals obtained using both types of detector are demonstrated.
Do poprawnej detekcji wyładowań niezupełnych w analizatorze wnz wymagany jest odpowiedni poziom amplitudy impulsów. Jako źródło sygnału pomiarowego wykorzystuje się często termorezystory typu PT100 wchodzące w skład tzw. czujników antenowych (anteny). Amplituda sygnału wyjściowego takich czujników waha się w granicach od kilkunastu do kilkudziesięciu miliwoltów. Nie zawsze jednak amplituda impulsów sygnału uzyskiwanego z takiego czujnika jest wystarczająca do wykonania pomiaru przyrządami o typowych zakresach pomiarowych. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu może być czujnik antenowy ze wzmacniaczem. W artykule przedstawiono typową budowę czujnika pasywnego i opracowanego na jego podstawie czujnika aktywnego. Pokazano przykładowe sygnały uzyskiwane z obu typów czujników.

Opis:
The measurement of partial discharge is often hindered due to the high sensitivity of the measuring instruments. This is influenced by a number of sources of interference which the measurement is most expose to in industry conditions on-line. The source of the interference varies (and may come from the tested device it self, any devices in the vicinity or from low or high voltage networks or radio). Some interference is suppressed by using an appropriate configuration of the measurement system. The choice of the suppression method is however strictly linked to the measurement conditions and the object measured.
Pomiar wyładowań niezupełnych, jest ze względu na dużą czułość urządzeń pomiarowych, często utrudniony. Mają na to wpływ różne zakłócenia. Najbardziej narażony jest pomiar wyładowań niezupełnych w warunkach przemysłowych on-line. Źródła zakłóceń mogą być różne (pochodzące z urządzenia badanego, urządzeń znajdujących się w pobliżu lub z sieci niskiego i wysokiego napięcia, radiowe). Niektóre zakłócenia są tłumione przez zastosowanie odpowiedniej konfiguracji układu pomiarowego. Wybór sposobu tłumienia jest jednak ściśle związany z warunkami pomiaru i obiektem mierzonym.
