Opis:
Due to the rapid production of warp knitted jacquard spacer fabric in recent years, as well as physical properties of light, heat conduction, buffering effect, compression resistance, moisture permeability and air permeability, warp knitted spacer fabric has been used more and more widely in clothing, shoes and hats, as well as in fields such as medical care, construction engineering, safety protection and others. The design demand for different patterns and functions is also increasing gradually. Jacquard designers established a complete design model which plays a certain guiding role in the design of warp knitted spacer fabric. It brings innovative design to the surface pattern and structure of the fabric, making it more functional. The adoption of computer aided design also has a certain guiding role in the design process. Taking the CAD pattern design of warp knitted spacer fabric as an example, which combines the functional characteristics of the fabric and the jacquard pattern. Thus, we design fabric products that meet the market demand and initiate fashion trends.

Opis:
This paper aims to discuss the artistic characteristics of traditional cheongsam and the transformation that has taken place in cheongsam textile design in the Republic of China. By analysing a collection consisting of 259 traditional cheongsam material samples in various museums such as the China Silk Archives in Suzhou, we explored the transformation of cheongsam textile design during the Republic of China from the perspective of Eastern and Western art cultural exchanges and explored the spread of Western artistic thought in China. Our search shows that, firstly, with the development of industrialization, the traditional cheongsam textile business absorbed new design concepts; secondly, in terms of material selection and pattern style, it widened the range of fabrics used and broke the monotony of traditional Chinese patterns. Moreover, it reduced connotations of social class implied by traditional textile design. Finally, these textile designs reflect the progress that has been made in the development of this artistic trend and the cultural fusion of Eastern and Western arts during the Republic of China.

Opis:
As one of the representative silk-woven artworks of the 20th century in China, Chinese Xiangjin brocade, well-known as "the flower of Oriental art", draws on the essence of Sichuan brocade, Yun brocade, Song brocade, so as to form its own unique artistic style. It also takes the lead in the innovation of traditional brocade in key processes such as craftsmanship, design and jacquard, whose drawing technique is the exact core skill making it intangible cultural heritage. So far, there have been few studies on crafts and textile design in China before the 20th century or even after the reform and opening up, and rather fewer studies on the structure of Xiangjin brocade in the 20th century. This paper attempts to record and classify 1008 pieces of Xiangjin brocade in the Suzhou Silk Archive, China, as well as to find out their design features, oriental flavour, and unique weaving techniques. In addition, the cultural connotation of Xiangjin brocade as the painting medium was also put forward by analysing those brocades’ historical texts, images, and style.

Opis:
Lithuanian folk textile heritage is an important part of world culture heritage, on which various ideas and traditions are imprinted with the emphasis on the education of self-consciousness of society and preservation of national identity. This paper deals with a complex analysis of Lithuanian national fabrics, the data of which have been collected by the authors’ abundant expeditions into Lithuanian rural territories. The current research presents the peculiarities of designs, colours and ornamentation of authentic woven textile manufactured since the middle of the 19th century up to now. The significance of this study is that it investigates only authentic textiles obtained from weavers or their relatives in Lithuanian villages, and the presence of these articles has been undisclosed up to now. This research presents collected, registered and investigated data concerning colours, ornamentation and patternsas expressive possibilities of designs of Lithuanian folk textile: dimai and pick-up fabrics. The current analysis discovers new features of originality of the national fabrics.
W artykule przedstawiono zebrane, zarejestrowane i sprawdzone dane dotyczące kolorów, ornamentów i wzorów jako możliwości projektowania tkaniny folklorystycznych dimai i pick-up. Zaprezentowana analiza wskazuje cechy oryginalności litewskich tkanin.
