    The primary objective of this paper is to present a model of a process management system developed to support the restructuring of Polish enterprises of the hard coal mining industry. The development of this model required research in three stages using several research methods. The stage I of the research was oriented towards the recognition of the existing state of knowledge in the scope of previously developed models of process management in enterprises. At this stage, a method of reviewing the literature, the analysis and synthesis of the results of considerations, was used. The stage II was oriented towards presenting of the current state of knowledge in the field of process management to the managerial staff of mines in order to identify their needs, capabilities and preferences. The research were attended by 24 managers from PGG SA and JSW SA. At this stage, the method of targeted free-form interview and discussions, was used. The stage III of the research was oriented towards the development of a process management system model in enterprises operating in the hard coal mining industry, based on the scientific achievements to date in the field of process management and consensus on the needs, preferences and capabilities of mine managerial staff with regard to its specific elements. At this stage, the method of analysis and synthesis was used. The results of the research presented in this publication are primarily addressed to the managerial staff of polish hard mines, as they provide a synthesized response to the problem of the lack of consistent process management guidelines that could set a standard within a mining enterprise. The model presented in the publication is of a general nature, although it may provide a basis for the application of process management for mines.

    Celem tego artykułu jest dobór metod i narzędzi do modelowania procesów w zakresie gospodarki odpadami komunalnymi (GOK). Czynnikiem determinującym wybór kompleksowych i szczegółowych metod/notacji jest przede wszystkim złożoność procesów zidentyfikowanych w systemie GOK i duża liczba jego uczestników. Wiarygodna analiza procesów, zrozumienie celu modelowania i zbadania dostępnych na rynku metodologii umożliwia wybranie odpowiednich metod modelowania procesów. Wybór właściwego narzędzia informatycznego wydaje się być raczej podyktowany wygodą użytkownika i jego możliwościami finansowymi. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera syntetyczny opis pojawiających się w literaturze metod modelowania i odpowiednich narzędzi, ale także określa najlepsze podejście, w opinii autora, do modelowania procesów w wybranym obszarze.
    The aim of this article was the selection of methods and tools for modeling processes in the area of municipal waste management (MWM). Determining factor in the choice of comprehensive and detailed methods/notation is primarily the complexity of the processes identified in the system MWM and a large number of its participants. Reliable analysis of processes, understanding the purpose of modeling and study of available on the market methodologies allows to select appropriate methods for process modeling. Choosing the right IT tool seems to have rather a matter of convenience of the user and his financial capabilities. This article contains a synthetic description appearing in the literature modeling methods and corresponding tools, but also determines the best approach, in the author's opinion, to modeling the processes in the selected area.

    W pracy zaprezentowano rozważania na temat znaczenia jednostki certyfikującej w systemie zarządzania jakością. Poddano analizie szeroko rozumiany proces certyfikacji systemu rozpoczynający się od wyboru certyfikatora a kończący się na ocenie wartości dodanej płynącej z tego procesu. Przestawiono wyniki badań dotyczących kryteriów wyboru jednostki certyfikującej i badania roli tej jednostki w systemie zarządzania jakością. Przeprowadzono analizę uzyskanych wyników. Określono czynniki zewnętrzne i wewnętrzne wpływające na jakość usług certyfikujących. Określono znaczenie jednostki certyfikującej w systemie i warunki jakie powinny być spełnione, aby właściwie przebiegał proces certyfikacji oraz dawał organizacji różnorodne korzyści.
    In the work there are considerations presented over the importance of certifying body in the quality management system. The analysis was conducted on a widely-understood process of system certification which starts from selection of the certifying body and ends with assessment of the added value resulting from the process. There are research results presented concerning the criteria of certifying body selection and examination of the role of this body in the quality management system. There was analysis made on the results obtained. The external and internal factors were defined which affect the quality of certifying services. There was also the importance of the certifying body determined in the system along with the conditions that should be fulfilled in order to run the certification process properly and so that it would bring various benefits.

    Autor w pracy zastanawia się nad rolą doradcy zewnętrznego w kształtowaniu systemu zarządzania jakością. Określa jego przestrzeń działania i zadania do wykonania. Prezentuje wyniki badań dotyczące postrzegania doradcy i jego oceny z perspektywy pełnomocnika ds. jakości. Zwraca uwagę na sposób doboru konsultanta i ocenę jego dokonań. Konkludując, zwraca uwagę na potrzebę zaangażowania i współdziałania obu stron uczestniczących w budowie systemu. Stwierdza, że to organizacja ponosi ostateczną odpowiedzialność za wynik procesu budowy systemu.
    The author of the work examines the role of external advisor in shaping the quality management system. There is his activity range and tasks to be done determined. The research results are presented that concern perception of the advisor, his assessment from a perspective of a quality representative. There is a way of advisor’s selection indicated as well as assessment of his effects. The analysis is conducted on factors and conditions, both external and internal ones, that affect the quality of consulting services. There is the organization’s significance emphasized, especially in regards to its management, in the process of system building. The author analyzes why disturbances occur during the system creation and attempts to determine their causes. In conclusions the attention is paid to the need of involvement and cooperation of both parties taking part in system building. It is stated that the organization takes the final responsibility for the effect of the system building process.

    The purpose of the article was to identify some trends and directions of changes in the process of communication between all entities in waste management system. Streamlining of the process should be followed by identifying the participants and information exchanged between them. It is important to recognize all the communication channels and media used in the process, as well as distortions occured. Identification of gaps and potential barriers in the communication process of waste management system will designate areas for further analysis and extended research.
    Celem niniejszego artykułu było wskazanie kierunków rozwoju i zmian w procesie komunikacji pomiędzy wszystkimi podmiotami systemu gospodarki odpadami. Usprawnienie tego procesu należy zacząć od identyfikacji jego uczestników oraz wymienianych pomiędzy nimi informacji. Istotne staje się również rozpoznanie kanałów komunikacyjnych i wykorzystywanych nośników, jak i występujących w procesie zniekształceń. Identyfikacja luk i potencjalnych barier w procesie komunikacji w systemie gospodarki odpadami pozwoli wyznaczyć obszary wymagające dalszej analizy i pogłębionych badań.
