Opis:
Biological engineering, also referred to as bioengineering, is a branch of biotechnology focused on solving problems of life sciences with the use of the most modern technology, analytical and synthetic methodologies, including possibly lowest cost of the conducted analyses and procedures. Nowadays, bioengineering is in the lead in the scientific world. Unlike traditional engineering techniques, which apply mathematical and physical sciences to analysis processes and structures of biological systems, the biological engineering is capable of molecular analysis due to developing knowledge of molecular biology and progress in technology.

Opis:
Nymphalids, the largest lepidopteran family, is represented by altogether 19 species (37% of the total species abundance) from the present study site Taki, West Bengal, India, with multiple habitat profiles exposed to different anthropogenic interventions. Nymphalidae is reported to be with highest occurrence of mimicry, a naturally selected survival tool for lepidopterans. A nymphalid set, including a model [Plain Tiger: Danaus chrysippus (Linnaeus, 1758)] and a mimic component [Danaid Eggfly ♀: Hypolimnus misippus (Linnaeus, 1764)] is selected for studying the specific ecological and functional correlation among them in their natural habitat. Their comparative seasonal and habitat wise distribution shows co-existence, the unpalatable model species outnumbering the mimic, the vulnerable target, corresponding to the Batesian mimicry. The wing morphology pattern is significantly shared, though the larval and adult host plants are exclusive and species specific. The year long field observation indicates the existence of considerable degree of similarity with respect to the ecobiological details, like flight pattern, mudpuddling, resting, basking and alternative resource utilisation activities. Species specific unique foraging attributes is observed. Being potential pollinators, they play key role to maintain the wild floral diversity at landscape level. The study bears conservation value towards these nature’s artwork, acting as the biotope indicator.

Opis:
The present article is devoted to the study of the biological localization of merging topics in Mandarin Chinese. The canonical topic structures in Chinese can be classified into 2 types: scrambling topic structures and left dislocated topic structures. In the first type, the topic is moved from its original position of an object or an adjunct to the spec CP position of the sentence; while in the second type, the topic is base generated in the spec CP position. The displaced topic is internally merged with its comment and the base generated topic is externally merged with its comment. Both logical possibilities of merge are localized laterally in BA 44.

Opis:
Diarrhoea in developing countries is caused by an increasingly long list of bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens with rotavirus, Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli, Campylobacter, Shigella, and Salmonella heading the list. Using methods to detect most of the known enteropathogens, one or more enteropathogen(s) is isolated in two-thirds of diarrhoeal illnesses in the developing world. Deoxyribonucleic acid probes have proved very useful in detecting pathogens such as enterotoxigenic (ETEC), enteroinvasive (EIEC), enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC), and Shigella but have not yet proved to be particularly rapid or less expensive. Molecular biology has proved useful in epidemiological studies as a means of strain identification and detection of genome diversity. Since the introduction of ribonucleic acid gene restriction patterns as taxonomic tools in 1986, ribotyping has become an established method for systematics, epidemiological, ecological population and genome diversity studies of microorganisms including Shigella. The technological development culminated in the automation of ribotyping which allowed for high-throughput applications. PCR ribotyping has proved being a highly discriminatory, flexible, robust and cost-efficient routine technique which makes inter-laboratory comparison and build of ribotype databases possible, too. The aim of the present review is to determine the present status of ribotyping technique in detecting the diversity in Shigella isolates.

Opis:
In this paper we consider the creation of living matter by a new appeared model of consciousness, named B-DS model, connected to the theories of unification of contemporary physics. In particular we deal with energies of subgroups SU(5), SU(6) and U(1) of SU(11) as superset of SU(5) ´ SU(6) ´ U(1). This is important in view of the potential importance of quantum effects in biology and in consciousness, where not only systems of known particles are considered, but we hypothesize new ones deriving by SU(6) and the significant effect of entanglement. We consider the human brain and its mental aspects as associated with classical brain physiology and also part of a quantum physical universe. We think that quantum mechanics can be relevant for explaining life and consciousness beyond the basic structure and interaction of matter atoms formed by the energy group of SU(5). For explaining biological systems we need to go beyond the present standard model of physics, i.e. starting by the energy group SU(11) instead of SU(5), considering then new unknown particles, tightly binding from the forces created by bosons of the latent energy group SU(6). The paper deals also with interesting information related to chemistry and quantum biology, as well as models related to life and brain working mechanism.

Opis:
Synthetic biology is a scientific area, that link together domains such as: biotechnology, microbiology, system biology, genetic engineering and bioinformatics. The main goal of synthetic biology is to constructing and designing artificial biological systems or re-design of existing biological systems for useful purposes - synthesizing for knowledge and synthesizing for products. The main structure on which synthetic biologists focus is the chromosome. Thanks to the development of modern genome editing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9, or DNA assembly methods in recent years, there are more and more possibilities of creating synthetic chromosomes. The current achievements give hope for the construction of a fully synthetic organism into the future, as well as open up new possibilities related to the synthesis of new products. The following paper presents actual knowledge about synthetic chromosome including the topic of genome editing method and potential applications of synthetic biology.
