The data of individual sector on environmental science is compiled in information technology (IT) through database software known as Environment Information (EI). Environment information is an easy accessible database in individual sector, where people can know both new research scope and impact on environment. The present study deals to inform that EI is an area, in which the knowledge of environmental science and IT is combined through database software. In this paper, individual research area, data format and beneficial aspects on environmental science is tabulated for EI. There are several research areas in which the data viz. ecology and ecosystem, biodiversity and conservation of important species, health hazards by diseases, health care facilities, toxicological aspects, wastes types, source generation and management, alternative energy generation facilities, environment education and awareness etc. It is a conceptual approach to gather knowledge of environment related problems and prospects and can easily make a database for the intellectuals, academicians, scientists, regulatory authorities, policy makers, researchers, students etc. These help to know benefits in research area, regulatory process, decision making and proper environment management. People can easily access compiled database in an individual sector of environment science.

This paper assesses the major constraints to EMP in the environmental management of filling stations in Kaduna metropolis. The specific objectives were to identify factors influencing the implementation of environmental management plan in Kaduna metropolis and proffer solutions to the constraint affecting the implementation of the EMP. Data for the study was obtained from published documents, questionnaire and interview. The result of the study indicated that the Ignorance, Cost of implementation and maintenance, follow-up process, lack record keeping, training and Enlightenment programmes, and uncertainty with the regulatory bodies are the major constraining factors affecting the implementation of EMP in Kaduna Metropolis, Possible solutions that can improve the implementation if the EMP such as involving some of the regulatory officers to assist in filling stations to implement the EMP or during review, environmental management benchmarking, introduction of compliance dependent compliance monitoring and enforcement, and self-reporting schemes are explored.

Community-based case management of malaria has been shown to be effective in reducing mortality and morbidity. Overall total of 183 communities comprising 36(19.7%) communities in Egba Goe-Political Zone (GPZ), 56(30.6%) in Yewa-Awori GPZ, 43(23.5%) in Remo GPZ, and 48(26.2%) in Ijebu GPZ. There was a significant (p = 0.011) difference between preventive measures against malaria adopted for children across LGAs. Involvement in environmental management /sanitation as part of control measure (78.0%) can mostly help in tackling the adverse effects of malaria parasites transmission. They also agreed that mosquitoes breed majorly in stagnant water (77%) and Ponds (74.6%) and they did not always use (54.4%) their ITN/LLITN and their family mostly used ITN/LLITN during rainy season (84.4%). Fresh-water Rain Forest (44.3%) and Lowland Rain Forest (43.2%) are common forest vegetation types. Communities having plains topographical structure were more (91.3%) with close/compact (54.6%) type of settlement and are more densely populated (51.9%). Water bodies present are small rivers (100%). House type common in the communities was mud with iron sheets (100%) and drainage system (36.2%) was not common. Communities Involvement in environmental management/sanitation as part of control measure will reduce malaria parasite transmission.

Opis:
Urban development along the southern coastal zone of West Java province involves land-use changes that have a direct impact on coastal ecosystems and services. The southern coastal, a metropolitan area to the south of west java province, is a study case in which the urban coastal occupation is reflected, with the consequent loss of certain services that the ecosystems offer to the population. The research analyses the Environmental Impact Assessment and the impacts of Coastal Zone Management proposals. The methodology used in the research leads to the Drivers-Pressures-State change-Impact-Response (DPSIR) perspective. The approach to the DPSIR has been based on a set of objectives that have brought a strong focus on the long-term preservation of the environment. As such, the planning process has included - and is recommended to include - the following steps: a) Environmental risk assessment; b) Sieve mapping process; c) Formulation of development regulations; d) Local development plans; e) Environmental Impact Assessment, f) Environmental Management Plan. In this sense, management responses should focus on the conservation of these threatened services, with the coordination and cooperation among different public administrations.

Opis:
Sustainable management of the port sector should be understood as one that brings together a reduction in the consumption of energy and natural resources, the volume of waste generated and the negative impacts on social systems and ecosystems in the areas of influence of the port; and allows for an increase in the volume of merchandise traffic and the number of passengers. In order to carry out a sustainable management it is necessary a previous study and to deduce a series of behaviors and tendencies to propose solutions or alternatives. For this reason, an integration of environmental indicators and operational performance indicators (KPIs) has been made in the research, customized for dirty solid bulk. Six representative terminals have been chosen to represent the entire Spanish port system, so that once our list of indicators has been defined, a study of behavior and interrelation of some parameters with others has been carried out in order to describe trends or conduct, and a Cluster analysis has also been performed. Through the study that relates the environmental factors and the indicators of management and operation, it is observed, a priori, that the solid bulk terminals of the Spanish port system that have a similar behavior, based on the management Vs environmental relationship, are those of Santander, Carboneras (Almería), Tarragona and A Coruña. Gijón and Algeciras are the terminals that exhibit different behaviors.

Forest cover in hills is essential to maintain environmental, economic and ecological balances. North Bengal accounts for 3,086 sq km (26 %) of the 11,876 sq km area of classified forests in the state, and for nearly 5,000 sq km (40 %) of all land under tree cover. Upper Chatakpur is one of the emerging ecotourism spots of north Bengal, located at an altitude of 7887 feet in Darjeeling district. It is a 180 years old ethnic village with 19 houses and a population of about 89, and at an altitude of 7887 ft. It is about 8 km. from Sonada (26° 57' N, 88° 16' E), 22 km. from Darjeeling (26° 2' N, 88° 15' E) and 72 km. from Siliguri (26° 42' N, 88° 25' E). Upper Chatakpur Village situated within Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, Darjeeling. The sanctuary with an area of 38.88 sq. km has an elevation of 1500-2600 m. The survey work was done in December, 2014 by visiting upper Chatakpur village and the primary data were gathered through field survey and direct contact with common people and authorized centers of the region. Surveys on the topography, demography, agriculture, livestock, water management, education, culture, health, waste management, transport, biodiversity, human animal conflict were done in this area. Medicinal plant diversity was studied in the village area and information was gathered from the local forest department centre. Information regarding the transport system was collected from the local transport office and syndicate. Census report was collected from the Sonada Panchayat Office. Health and education information was collected from the local primary school and the local sub health centre. Information on sustainable agricultural practices and waste management policies is collected through surveys in the village houses and agricultural fields. Biodiversity of Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary was documented by visiting the forest areas. Pictorial documentation was done in every phase of study. In spite of getting so much attention in the recent time, the village is not adequately developed. There is an urgent need for implementing sustainable management systems in the areas for the betterment of the socio-environmental structures. Some of the possible management strategies have been suggested for maintaining the social, environmental, economic and ecological balance of the region.
