Conserving biodiversity is a major necessity, as human interference causes loss of this. Tourism is not exempt from this. Still, ecotourism, a sub-component of the field of sustainable tourism, has more positive effects. The primary objective of this work is to ascertain the condition of ecotourism in the study area. The secondary objectives are to identify the challenges and progress of biodiversity by way of ecotourist activity, and to suggest solutions to promote best outcome and to overcome the challenges of ecotourism. China Bay (Marble Beach), Kanniya Hot Wells, Nilaveli Beach, Pullmottai Beach (Arisimalai), Lanka Patina and Trincomalee Beach are renown places for tourism in Trincomalee District. The condition of the ecotourism industry in Trincomalee District was identified by means of questionnaire survey and direct observation. Our work shows that the coastal areas are particularly rich in biodiversity and in offering scenic values. Many environmental challenges were identified and remedial measures, suggested.

The socio-economic study of the green turtle conservation area (Chelonia mydas (Linnaeus, 1758)) as a marine ecotourism for local communities is carried out to know the potential of conservation areas in terms of the social and economic aspects that are generated in local communities. The method used in this research is the case study method in Pangumbahan Village by collecting primary data and secondary data. The sampling method used was purposive sampling and data processing using Ms. Excel. Based on the research that has been done, it is known that even though the impact has not been felt by the whole community, the Pangumbahan Village community hopes that Pangumbahan Beach Turtle Beach Park area can be developed because it has the potential to provide more benefits to them.

Opis:
This study empirically examines the impact of forests on economic growth in Nigeria for the period of 1990 to 2015. Unit root tests were carried out using the Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) test, while the Bounds cointegration test was used to establish a long run relationship between the forests and other independent variables and economic growth. An Error Correction Model (ECM) was also employed to determine the nature of the long run relationship. The findings show that forests have a positive effect on economic growth, however, this is not statistically significant. This study recommends that the government should intensify its efforts in the forestry sector so as to improve the productivity of forest resources in Nigeria. Moreover, the Nigerian government should discourage illegal felling of trees and the importation of timber products, as well as engage and develop the rural communities to reduce the pressure on forest resources and ensure sustainable use. The study also recommends the sustainable use of forest resources through ecotourism and the development of the forestry value chain in Nigeria.

Tinchuley (Latitude: 26.89748 N, Longitude: 88.23268 E) is a remote hamlet located close to Darjeeling which can be reached through a drive of 32 kilometers. Takdah Cantonment (Latitude: 26.89745 N, Longitude: 88.23265 E) is a settlement located in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, India. It is one of the upcoming tourist centers of the Darjeeling hills, around 4 km. from Tinchuley. The winding roads, tall pine and fir trees, intruding packs of cloud and warm and hospitable people makes it an ideal destination for people looking to escape from the hectic lifestyle of the city. The main objective of the present research work was to construct the social, environmental, cultural and economic framework of Tinchuley and Takdah Cantonment area and to highlight the proposals for sustainable management policies of those ecologically sensitive zones. The study was done in May, 2014 by visiting Tinchuley and Takdah and the information was gathered through field survey and direct contact with common people and authorized centers of the regions. Surveys on the agriculture, horticulture, livestock, water management, education, culture, health, waste management, transport and biodiversity were done in these areas. Tinchuley and Takdah have become the prominent tourist spots of West Bengal for pleasure trips, biological and geographical excursions and medical research works. In spite of getting so much attention in the recent time, the areas are not adequately developed. There is an urgent need for implementing sustainable management systems in the areas for the betterment of the socio-environmental structures. Some of the possible management strategies have been suggested for maintaining the social, environmental, economic and ecological balance of the regions.

Opis:
Salt licks play an important role in the health of wildlife by supplying the essential minerals required especially for herbivores. This study assessed nine mineral salt lick sites, fauna utilization and tree species diversity in response to threats encountered at the site. Systematic random sampling, quadrat sampling and transect survey were used as the methodological indices to carry out the research. The dominant tree species is Anogeissus leiocarpus while recessive species was Vitellaria paradoxa. Fauna distribution and abundance within and across mineral salt lick sites were observed. Kobs (Kobus kob) were highest while Tantalus monkey (Chlorocebus tantalus) and Warthog (Phacochoerus aethiopicus) had least encounter rate. Park management should implement conservation education, stringent policies against wildlife offences and constant surveillance to conserve biodiversity in protected ecological site. The overall benefits derived from salt licks for wildlife health, majorly through herbivores are crucial in maintaining a healthy wildlife community for their reproduction and survival.
