Opis:
Thin films of bismuth oxide have been prepared utilizing vacuum evaporation. XRD anyalysis reveal that all the films were tetragonal polycrystalline structure with a preferred orientation along (002) plane. SEM images indicate that the grain size fall in the category of nanosize. AFM results assure that the nanonstructure behavior of thin films. Optical studies show that these films have a direct transition with optical energy gap equal to 2.5 eV.

Opis:
Today's world mainly focuses on reducing human effort and maximizing efficiency. Machines are replacing humans in many hazardous working environments. Automation is playing an important role in saving human efforts in most of their day-to-day works. A robotic vehicle has been developed in this project which can be particularly used in a small scale industry. The robotic vehicle is controlled by a mobile phone that is connected to the robot through a GSM network which acts as a remote controller. DTMF technology is used, which enables the robot to be controlled over the GSM network. The keypad of the mobile phone acts as a remote to control the vehicle's movement. The robotic vehicle developed is not an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) as an operator has to manually operate the vehicle. A sensor is attached to the front of the vehicle which senses obstruction in its path and enables the vehicle to avoid collisions with moving or fixed objects. The vehicle features battery powered motors and computer technology that has been programmed to drive to and from specific points. This research work involves the fabrication of a working model vehicle controlled over a GSM network using DTMF technology. The guided vehicle can work in environments such as transporting materials from a warehouse to production lines to reduce human effort and increase efficiency.

Nucleic acid content in different tissues in the freshwater fish N.notopterus in relation to sex was studied during Pre-spawning phase of the reproductive cycle. The fish were scarified and the tissues such as brain, liver, kidney and gonads removed and processed for determination of nucleic acids. It is observed that the nucleic acid content in different tissues of female fish has lower values than males. The results obtained in the present study may provide a contribution to the knowledge of the characteristics of nucleic acid as parameters of sexing the fish. The study also indicates that although male fish have higher values than female fish, both the sexes are biochemically and nutritionally better.

Wind results from the air in motion. Air in motion arises from a pressure gradient. Wind direction and wind speed are two characteristics of the wind, whose inter-relationships may give us an insight into the prevailing weather condition at a particular place. This study examines the trend analysis of the wind direction and wind speed pattern of Srinagar Garhwal Valley, Uttarakhand. The average wind speed in Srinagar Valley is 2.923± 1.232 m/s. As it is seen the most frequent wind in Srinagar Garhwal has a speed from 0.50 to 2.10 m/s in the northwest direction.

Nucleic acid content in brain, liver, kidney and gonads of the freshwater fish Notopterus notopterus collected from different aquatic bodies were studied during pre-spawning phase of the reproductive cycle. The three different aquatic bodies selected were Saradgi nala, Bennithora River and Bheema River and their physiochemical parameters also studied. The present study of nucleic acid content in brain, liver, kidney and gonads of the fish Notopterus notopterus collected from aquatic body Bennithora River shows normal levels of the nucleic acid as compared to that of fish from other two aquatic bodies. The normal content of nucleic acid content of N. notoptuers in the aquatic body Bennithora may be due to favorable environmental condition for survival, growth, distribution and reproductive activity.

Opis:
Performance characterization of some selected conventional cook stoves in South Eastern Nigeria had been carried out. Three conventional cook stoves (3-stone stove, charcoal stove and sawdust stove) were selected and evaluated. Their performances were compared with those of improved stove. The results show that the time spent in cooking 1 Kg of rice/(yam) is significantly different in all the conventional stoves under test; (maximum 0.75 (0.44) kg/hr for 3-stone stove and minimum 0.61 (0.35) hr/kg for charcoal). Fuel utilization also differs for instance lesser quantity of charcoal would be required to cook the same quantity of food on the charcoal stove than the open fire stove. Also the specific fuel consumption value of charcoal stove is lesser than all other stoves. The 3-stone stove have higher specific fuel consumption values indicative of more fuel consumption but lower thermal efficiency. This indicates a poor performance when compared to other improved stoves such as kerosene stove with higher thermal efficiency of 64.38 %.

Opis:
2,2'-[1,2-phenylenebis(nitrilomethylidene)]bisphenol (BSOPD) is synthesized in the laboratory and characterized by NMR, IR and elemental analysis for its purity. This reagent forms a yellow complex with U(VI) which can be quantitatively extracted into chloroform at pH 10. This complex in chloroform shows an intense absorption peak at 413.0 nm. It is observed that Beer’s law is obeyed in the range of 2.0-10.0 ppm of metal solution. It gives a linear and reproducible graph under appropriate conditions, the complex having a molar absorptivity of 3.69 x 104 L mol-1·cm-1. Sandell’s sensitivity calculated was found to be 4.4 x 10-3 μg·cm-2. Nature of the extracted complex, determined by Job’s continuous variation method, Slope ratio method and Mole ratio method shows that the composition of U(VI) : BSOPD complex is 1:4. Interference by various ions is studied and masking agents used where required. The proposed method has been applied for the determination of U (VI) in monazite sand and synthetic samples. The results of the analysis are found to be comparable with those obtained by standard method.

The changes in some blood biochemical parameters were studied in the freshwater fish N. notopterus under saline exposure for a longer period of 30 days. The blood biochemical parameters are glucose, protein, triglycerides and cholesterol. All these parameters exhibited increased level except of blood glucose which remained unchanged as observed after the termination of saline exposure. Thus it indicates that although fish survives and able to tolerate extreme saline condition as there was no mortality during the exposure period. The increase of blood biochemical parameters can be considered as a kind of saline stress response particularly on lipid derivatives.

Photovoltaic technology is one of the fastest growing energy among the different type of renewable energies that are available for electricity generation. This is due to the availability of the natural sun rise, and the non polluted energy that is free from emission of carbon dioxide (CO2). This paper presents a typical modeling of photovoltaic cell under different irradiations level, in order to monitor the behavior of the (Voltage-Current) V-I and (Power-Voltage) P-V characteristics. The simulation of the proposed model was performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK and Simscape environment. Single diode model of the PV system was presented in the mathematical modeling of the proposed system. Simulation results of different I-V and P-V characteristics were also presented.

Worldwide, annual water demand has been increased for different uses. This can be attributed to population expansion and the accompanying need to satisfy their water needs for domestic, agricultural, and industrial purposes. The situation has been becoming worst due to vulnerable and inefficient water supply systems. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) has been proved to be a sustainable option in solving the on-ground water shortage to a great extent. India has been facing the wrath of a water crisis for about a decade or two. The potential of RWH in India is more due to its geographical location and landscape. This paper aims at studying the impact of adopting RWH techniques as an artificial recharge option to evaluate groundwater table in the Joda town of India by analyzing the difference in water levels of the township throughout the past decade (2009-19). The study revealed the increase in the underground water level of the study area and established that RWH systems are crucial in arid regions to a large extent.
