    The paper presents the study results obtained on 16H12MF/NC11LV/D2 tool steel. The main purpose of the study was to establish the chemical composition of the coarse primary M7C3 carbides occurring in that steel after a standard soft annealing. The effect of high-temperature annealing in the air atmosphere was investigated. The study was limited to the decarburized layer, on the distance of about 0.4 mm from the surface, of hardened steel after annealing and austenitizing at 1150 ºC in the air atmosphere for the periods of 30 and 90 minutes. It was found that the coarse primary M7C3 carbides of the annealed D2 tool steel differ significantly as to the contents of Cr, Mo, and V, and in the most degree to the contents of chromium and molybdenum. The average concentration of chromium rises successively with the growth of austenitizing time. On the other hand, the concentrations of molybdenum and vanadium are lower after 30 minutes of austenitizing than their concentrations in the similar carbides of the annealed steel. Prolongation of the austenitizing time up to 90 minutes results in the increase of molybdenum and vanadium contents in the coarse carbides. It was found that austenitizing of AISI D2 tool steel at the temperature of 1150 ºC in the air atmosphere leads to precipitation of the second phase, brighter in the BSE_Z pictures, in relation to the matrix of carbides, with the amount and magnitude being higher with the annealing time.

    We have reported some novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole synthesized by conventional method as well as microwave assisted method. The reaction of different substituted cinnamic acid 2a-o with 2-(4-chlorophenyl) acetohydrazide by using phosphoric anhydride as catalyst, yielded a series of 2,5-di-substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole 6a-o. The structures of all synthesized compounds are well characterized by Mass, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. After obtaining experimental data regarding the yield and the time taken for the synthesis by both the methods, conventional and microwave assisted method, it was proved that the microwave assisted method is convenient for synthesis of this type of 2,5-di-substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole 6a-o.

    We have described simple facile method for the synthesis of Novel (E)-1-(aylideneamino)-6-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-oxo-4-(trifluoromethyl)-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile derivatives by using 1,3-diketone as synthon. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, Mass and 1H NMR spectroscopy.

    A new series of 2,5-distyryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles derivatives have been synthesized from cinnamic hydrazide on reaction with various cinnamic acid derivatives. The structures of synthesized compounds have been elucidated by spectral studies like IR, 1HNMR, Mass and also Elemental Analysis. Furthermore, all synthesized compounds were screened for in vitro anti microbial activity against the gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and gram negative (Escherichia coli) bacterial strain. In which some the compounds show potential inhibition against the test organisms.

    Reaction of 4-aminoquinolines with 4-nitrophenyl chloroformate have resulted in finding a novel transformation of 4-aminoquinolines to tricyclic (R,S)-3-methylazeto[3,2-c]quinolin-2(2aH)-ones. The structure of azeto-quinolinone was determined via spectroscopic and chemical methods. Various alcohols were used as nucleophiles to open the 1-azetinone ring to give the corresponding N-(quinolin-4-yl)carbamates in good yields. We also found a new and versatile one step synthesis of N-(quinolin-4-yl)carbamates by reacting 4-aminoquinolines with alkyl chloroformates in the presence of anhyd K2CO3 in acetonitrile.

    Seeds of sesame (Sesamum indicum L), genotypeTMV3 were treated with various concentrations of EMS and Colchicine like 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 % and the LD50 values observed at 1.0 % of EMS and 0.6 % of Colchicine. Based on their LD50 values appreciable concentrations only selected for further study and their effects on various morphological characters such as plant height per plant, number of branches per plant, number of leaves per plant, days to first flowering, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule and seed yield per plant (g) were measured quantitatively and the results showed that all the characters were consequently or significantly reduced when compared to control and also EMS showed more effective than colchicine.
