Opis:
The present study was carried out to induce morphological mutation in chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) var k1. The seeds were subjected to different treatment levels of gamma rays are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70Kr along with control. The treated and untreated seeds were raised in a randomized block design to observe the different morphological characters in M2 generation. Several unique and interesting mutants were isolated in this investigation, these independent mutants have differ from control, the most distinct mutants included tall, dwarf, bushy , flower, sterile and pod mutant, was observed in M2 generation.

Opis:
The values of ultrasonic velocity (u), density (ρ), and viscosity (η) have been measured experimentally in the binary liquid mixture containing 1-butanol and hexane over the entire range of composition at different temperatures 313.15 K, 318.15 K and 323.15 K. This experimental data have been used to calculate the acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), free length (Lf), molar volume (Vm) and acoustic impedance(z). The results have been qualitatively used to explain the molecular interactions between the components of the liquid mixture.

Opis:
Sound velocity, densities of binary mixture of Tetrahydropyran (THP) with 1-hexanol has been measured over the entire range of composition at T = 298.15 to 318.15 K. The excess parameters viz., excess sound velocity, deviations in isentropic compressibility, excess molar volume, excess free length and excess acoustic impedance are deduced from experimental values and discussed intermolecular interactions present in the mixture. At the end all the parameters have been fitted to Redlich-Kister equation and their coefficients are obtained.

Insect antifeedant activities of some halo substituted aryl 1,3-oxazine-2-amines have been measured using 4th instar larvae Achoea Janata L by castor leaf discs-Dethler’s method. The highly halo substituted oxazine amines have shown good insect antifeedant activities. The 1,3-oxazine amines have been synthesised by greener method by solvent-free cyclization of aryl enones with urea under microwave irradiation. The yields of the oxazines were more than 80 %. The synthesised oxazines were characterized by their physical constants, analytical and spectroscopic data.

In this study, we report the synthesis of 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives using condensation of cyclohexanecarbohydrazide derivatives and carbon disulfide. In present study, we have prepared total seven derivatives based on 1,3,4-oxadiazole core further functionalized with thiol moieties. The structures of synthesized compounds (C1-C9) were confirmed by the 1H NMR, and Mass spectrometry. These synthesized molecules were subjected to antibacterial and fungal activity against selected microbial and fungal strains. Some of derivatives showed good biological behaviour against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Opis:
Theoretical velocities of binary liquid mixtures of 1-bromopropane with chlorobenzene at 2 MHz and four different temperatures 303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15 K, have been evaluated as a function of concentration and temperature. The experimental values are compared with theoretical models of liquid mixtures such as Nomoto, Van Dael-Vangeel, Impedance Relation, Rao’s Specific Velocity Method, Junjie’s relations and Free Length Theory. In the chosen system there is a good agreement between experimental and theoretical values calculated by Nomoto’s theory. The deviation in the variation of U2exp/ U2imx from unity has also been evaluated for explaining the non ideality in the mixtures. The results are explained in terms of intermolecular interactions occurring in these binary liquid mixtures.

A series of some aryl 1,3-oxazine-4-thione derivatives have been synthesized by 1-methyl imidazole catalyzed three component one pot synthetic method in room temperature. The purities of these thiones were studied by their physical constants and spectroscopic data. The infrared and 13C NMR spectral data of CN and CS were correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-linear regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis, the effect of substituent on the spectral data was studied.

In this investigation, the authors predicted the effects of substituents on the functional groups of the titled chalcones using Linear Free Energy Relationship through Hammett equation with its constants and Swain-Lupton parameters. The LFER model statistical analysis was carried out using single and multi-linear regression analysis in MS Office 365 XL package. From the LFER analysis outcome, the influence of substituents on the spectroscopic functionality were discussed with their electronic effects such as, polar, inductive, resonance, field and conjugation. The titled compounds were prepared by solvent-free Aldol-Condensation method. The prepared compounds were characterised by their physical constants, micro analysis and spectroscopic data (FT-IR, NMR and Mass).

The present investigation was evaluating the potential antibacterial activity of three different extracts of the bark of Lannea coromandelica Linn. (LC) tree procured from Eastern India. Extraction of bark separation was carried out using aqueous, ethanol and a mixture of aqueous and ethanol. Microbiocides of all the extracts were separately evaluated against several microorganisms viz. Bacillus substilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pseudomonus aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Serratia marcescens by agar diffusion technique. The Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) of all the extracts was carried out by the serial dilution method. The results of MIC ranged from 12.5 to 150 mg/ml (all the three extracts). The concentration dependent (**P < 0.01) potential antimicrobial activity was resulted and at the dose of 200 mg/ml, combined aqueous and ethanol extract of LC (LCAE + LCEE) gave significant results against gram positive bacteria where the maximum zone of inhibition was recorded against Streptococcus pyogenes (17.0± 0.05**) followed by Straphyloccus aureus (13.6 ±0.05**). Further, the same extract showed the maximum relative percentage inhibition against Straphyloccus aureus (178.64%) followed by Streptococcus pyogenes (143.42%). Such variation may be due to the effects of choice of solvent and the quantity of the extracted amount and also the geographical source of the plant part. These results represent scientific evidence to support the traditional medicinal uses of LC bark extracts and indicate a promising potential used against the treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria and also provide scientific evidence for their efficacy to prepare the alternate newer medicine for antibiotics.

This paper deals with the security aspects of power system by evaluating the severity of transmission line outage. Voltage security assessment is made by determining the power flow in the line using load flow for each contingency. The severity of contingency is measured using a scalar index called Voltage performance index. 1P-1Q Method and Fast Decoupled load flow are used as approximate and exact load flow methods for Voltage security assessment respectively. Contingency analysis is carried out and ranked lists in the decreasing order of severity based on Voltage Performance Index values are prepared for standard test systems. The severity of line is evaluated and compared using these load flow methods.

The yields of these thiocarbomyl pyrazolines are more than 80 %. The purities of these synthesised pyrazoline derivatives are checked by their physical constants and spectral data earlier reported in the literature The spectral data of these 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-carbothioamides had been correlated, using single and multi-linear regression analysis.

A new series of 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were prepared from the condensation of acid hydrazide,5-bromo-2-(trifluoromethoxy)benzoic acid in POCl3 by ultrasonic irradiation method. The new synthetic method furnished the desired products in shorter time and good yields. The chemical structures of compounds 4a-h were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (13C-NMR) and elemental analyses. Larvicidal bioassay tests were performed using several 2-(5-bromo-2-(trifluoromethoxy) phenyl)-5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazole. These synthesized compounds presented strong larvicidal activity against urban mosquitoes Culex quinquefasciatus. The results suggest that larvicidal activity might be correlated with the presence of electron-withdrawing substituents in the para position of the phenyl ring. The alterations observed in the larvae spiracular valves of the siphon and anal papillae by 1,3,4-oxadiazoles in the larvicidal bioassay are responsible for larvae’s death.

Some new derivatives of 1,5-Benzodiazepines have been synthesized and their structural characterizations are done by IR, NMR and Mass Spectral data. The ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity of these synthesized compounds have been measured in dimethyl formamide and tetrahydrofuran at 298.15 K. From these experimental data, some acoustical parameters such as isentropic compressibility, intermolecular free path length, Rao’s molar sound function, relaxation strength, solvation number etc., have been calculated which helps in understanding the molecular interactions occurring in these solutions.
