- The article describes the role of the Maintenance Department in an enterprise in the automotive industry. The development trends of machinery maintenance are presented. The TPM (Total Production Maintenance) system was characterized with a particular indication of the integration between maintenance and production departments. The most commonly used indicators to assess machine performance are described. Research presents the role of cooperation between production and maintenance in the achievement of high operational reliability indicators for machines. Cooperation factors that may lead to changes in the frequency of failures are described.
