Opis:
The material comprised 100 women at the age ranging from 26 to 75 years, after the treatment of cancer of the reproductive organ. Most patients were treated routinely (operation, X-ray, radium, therapy). When examing the patient the method of the treatment received, the lapse of time since the completion of therapy and the frequency of incidence of T.vaginatis were taken in consideration. The conspicuous feature in all women under examination was the loss of hormonal activity of the ovaries due to surgical intervention or irradiation of the gonads at various age. Consequently, the women under observation were managed as menopausal patients. The most numerous group was made up of women at the age of 41-50 years. Among 100 women examined, the T. vaginalis infection was found in 17% of cases. The highest incidence of T. vaginalis was observed at the age between the 31 and 50 year of life. The women who bad received Curie-therapy exhibited a lower percentage of trichomonadosis as compared with those treated by other methods, which might be related to the direct action of the radiation energy on the vaginal mucous membrane with the resulting atrophic and sclerotic lesions. No distinct correlation could be established between the time which elapsed since the termination of the therapy of Ca of the reproductive organ and the frequency of incidence of T. vaginatis. In small number of patients, who were administered cylostatic drugs by oral route, T. vaginalis failed to disappear. According to Jirovec and Peter's scheme, the most frequent degree of vaginal cleanliness was referred lo as IIC and IIIA. The follow-up examination for the presence of T. vaginalis was made 6 weeks to 2 years after the treatment.
