Opis:
A deep hybrid electric vehicle (DHEV) equipped with a Ravigneaux compound planetary gear train (PGT) encounters severe gear whine noises during acceleration in the EV drive mode. For the analysis of vibro-acoustic sources, a 5DOF lumped-parameter vibration model for the PGT dynamic system is established as well as sound pressures radiated from the transmission on a test bench are measured for data processing and recognition. By comparison between numerical and experimental analyses, natural vibration modes of the PGT are examined and high frequency modal resonances in association with the planetary gears are observed only to cause narrow band whine noises. Furthermore, a 2DOF reduced dynamic model for the planetary gears with consideration of nonlinearities such as time-varying mesh stiffness and backlash is proposed, and numerical solutions to bifurcations and dynamic instabilities of the two sets of planetary gears are obtained. It is found that nonlinear vibration behaviour of the long and short planets are major causes of shock and vibration of the hybrid transmission. Severe vibro-acoustic noises excited dominantly by the planetary gears are alleviated after implementing micro-geometry modifications to the PGT.

Opis:
A severe oscillation, accompanied with an abnormal “click” sound, of a fuel feeding pipe system during valve closing, when the feeding flowrate reaches a certain value, is observed experimentally. A fluctuation model in which stiffness and damping coefficients of the vibration system are time varying is proposed. Each coefficient is composed of two parts, one of which is constant and the other is time varying. Based on this model, simulation transients of the vibration displacement, velocity and pressure in the pipe are presented. Simulations of the pressure transients are compared with experimental data detected by pressure transducer, which shows that both have fluctuations in the transient process at a large flowrate.

Opis:
In this study, refined finite element models of concrete filled steel tubular long columns with length diameter ratio (L/D) of 50 were established, and their dynamic responses under a rigid-body impact were explored. It is found that the form of impact load is only related to and can be predicted from the impact velocity of the rigid-body. The change of axial stress and strain with time is synchronous with that of the impact load. Furthermore, the variation characteristics of axial stress and strain with time are mainly related to the initial velocity of the rigid-body.
