In this short paper, \(K\) denotes a complete, non-trivially valued, ultrametric field. Sequences and infinite matrices have entries in K. We prove a few characterizations of Schur matrices in \(K\). We then deduce some non-inclusion theorems modelled on the results of Agnew [1] and Fridy [3] in the classical case.

Throughout this paper, entries of 4-dimensional infinite matrices, double sequences and double series are real or complex numbers. In the present paper, we introduce a new definition of convergence of a double sequence and a double series and record a few results on convergent double sequences. We also prove Silverman-Toeplitz theorem for double sequences and series.

In this paper,we prove a theorem which gives an equivalent formulation of summability by weighted mean methods. The result of Hardy [1] and that of Móricz and Rhoades [2] are special cases of this theorem. In this context, it is important to note that the result of Móricz and Rhoades is valid even without the assumption \(\frac{p_n}{P_n}\to0\) as \(n\to\infty\).

In this paper we define a distance Fibonacci numbers, also for negative integers, which generalize the classical Fibonacci numbers and Padovan numbers, simultaneously. We give different interpretations of these numbers with respect to special partitions and compositions, also in graphs. We show a construction of the sequence of distance Fibonacci numbers using the Pascal's triangle. Moreover, we give matrix generators of these numbers, for negative integers, too.

Inversion of band matrices is the simplest, direct way of computing interpolating splines. On the other hand, when studying the convergence problems, the bounds of related inverse matrices are useful. This paper contains algorithms of inversion, based on LR decomposition, of tri- and five-diagonal matrices appearing in spline fitting problems. (In this case LR decomposition is possible and unique if one of the diagonals is fixed.) For example, inversion of a tri-diagonal matrix of dimension n requires 12n(3n+5) multiplications when the proposed algorithm is used. Some upper and lower bounds for elements of the inverse matrix are also given. Under certain additional assumptions the numerical stability is proved. MR0488663

The subject of this article is a numerically stable method for solving nonsingular Cramerian systems of linear equations, with a symmetric indefinite coefficient matrix. It consists in adapting the algorithm presented in [1] that can stably and effectively diagonalize any indefinite symmetric matrix. It is in fact some modification of the Gaussian symmetric elimination procedure.

In recent, years, several bounds of eigenvalues, norms and determinants for solutions of the continuous and discrete Riccati equations have been separately investigated. In this paper, an upper bound for the solution of the unified algebraic Riccati equations is presented. In the limit case, the result is reduced to a new upper bound for t he solution of discrete and continuous Riccati equation.
