Opis:
This paper examines the impact of urban discharges on the water quality of the Erenik River in the city of Gjakova, Kosovo which is the most of key factor in developing the tourism. The primary goal of this project-based research was to provide results through water analysis in order to show the impact of urban discharges on the water quality for the tourists coming. The research was carried out by taking water samples at the entrance and exit of the Erenik River, while the measured parameters of the analyses were: temperature, pH value, electrical conductivity, turbidity, permanganates, phosphorus; and chlorides. Due to the conditions, measurements were not performed for: biological and chemical expenditure, dissolved oxygen, and alkalinity of the water. In order to achieve reliable results, the experimental research model was used, applying the techniques and methods of water analysis during the period of November-December 2021. The analyzed water result and the final findings showed that urban wastes affect the water quality, in particular the pollution from the discharges in the river potentiating the condition in which the Erenik River is found.

Opis:
At present, during the period of intensive climatic changes, it is important to thoroughly take into account the hydrological regimes of water bodies. Оnе of the major conditions of ensuring hydrological safety of territories is а reliable forecast of stream-channel deformations and channel-related processes in the case of water bodies and their separate sections. This paper reviews different methods of calculating bed load discharge. Thus, a new technique оf calculation оf bed load discharge was developed with consideration of the probabilistic estimate оf the beginning оf bed load motion. The method shows satisfactory results compared to previous techniques in use.

Opis:
This paper present an assessment of the impact of the Kowalskie reservoir on the hydrological regime alteration of the Główna river. The Główna river is a right tributary of the Warta river. The Kowalskie reservoir was built in 1984. The area of the reservoir in the normal condition is 203 ha and total capacity is 6.58×106 m3. The impact of the Kowalskie reservoir on the hydrological regime was made on the basis of RVA method. The assessment was based on the analysis of flow series from the period of 1971–2012. The calculations were done by means of IHA software version 7.1.0.10 developed by The Nature Conservancy (2009). This study indicate that the Kowalskie reservoir has an impact on two group of flow parameters that characterized frequency and duration of high and low pulses as well as rate and frequency of water condition change. The others flow parameters characterized magnitude and duration of annual extreme water conditions are less affected by the Kowalskie reservoir. This study show that Kowalskie reservoir play important role in flood protection. Additionally the reservoir operation has an positive effect on minimum flows characteristic and base flow index.

Opis:
The research is devoted to assessing the negative impact of the amber-succinite deposit in the Kaliningrad region as one of the sources of complex pollution of the Baltic Sea waters. The Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted water bodies in Europe today. There are many natural and anthropogenic factors that cause this ecological situation. Industry is one of the significant contributors to the pollution of the waters of the Baltic Sea. The industrial wastewater discharged into the Baltic Sea often does not comply with the state ecological standards. The wastewater disposal system modernization by creating a recycled water supply is one of the most effective ways to reduce the negative impact of industrial wastewater on the Baltic Sea ecosystem nowadays. This technological solution allows to significantly reduce or to completely prevent the discharge of wastewater into the Baltic Sea.

Opis:
Survey shows that high operational costs of membrane facilities and large amounts of effluents are mainly attributed to fouling and scaling. Research of scaling and fouling mechanisms showed that these processes depend not only on hydraulic and hydrodynamic factors, but on membrane type, material and channel configuration as well. Operational parameters of different membrane configurations show that spiral wound modules demonstrate best hydraulic and hydrodynamic characteristics combined with lowest price. Main ways to develop new fouling-free techniques are outlined that require modified "open-chan-nel" spiral wound membranes. Elimination of "deadlocks" as a main cause of scaling and fouling provide new technological approach to develop water treatment techniques without pretreatment facilities and chemicals. Modification of channel provides possibility to reach high recoveries and high supersaturation values due to strong stability of calcium carbonate solutions. Membrane transport is not only purification instrument it is also a reactor to coagulate, concentrate and precipitate water constituents on membrane surface. Several examples of water treatment flow diagrams are presented to demonstrate principles of zero concentrate flow discharge. Coagulated suspended matter after membrane flushes is collected, sedimented and finally dewatered. The dewatered sludge contains averagely 0,8 per cent of initial water. Due to the use of an "open-channel" modules membrane brine flow could be concentrated by many times without a fear of scaling and added to the sludge. Thus the excessive salts and impurities could be withdrawn from water systems together with partially dewatered sludge. Similarly excessive calcium carbonate could be also concentrated in membrane modules and subsequently precipitated, sedimented and dewatered. Solution of fouling problems thus provides a new approach to save operational costs and to increase ecological efficiency of membrane water treatment tools.
Rozwiązanie problemu zmniejszenia zanieczyszczenia membran pozwoli zmniejszyć koszty pracy instalacji i spowoduje wyższy poziom ekologicznej efektywności narzędzi wykorzystujących technikę membranową.
