Opis:
Technological system of analyzed wastewater treatment plant is in part a biological bed of soil-reed in parallel arrangement. Unusual application is the application of two independent purification lines where in the second line, a bio-preparation is additionally dosed. The constructed wetland provides high removal of organic compounds expressed as BOD5 and COD, as well as reducing the concentration of ammonia nitrogen and phosphates. This indicates a high performance of such a sewage treatment plant.

Opis:
New priorities for the environment have resulted in a reassessment of modern technology for treatment of urban wastewater. Urban wastewater treatment mainly involves the elimination or reduction of anthropogenic organic micropollutants in the aquatic environment. In this paper, the effectiveness of bisphenol A elimination from wastewater, after biological treatment, through a complex ultrafiltration/reverse osmosis purification process was evaluated. The effectiveness of the wastewater treatment process in the tested system was also evaluated with a number of other physical and chemical analyses for pH, turbidity, colour, absorbance, TOC, phenol index, conductivity and the concentration of selected heavy metals. Within this study, the change in the hydraulic performance of the membranes was also investigated. The effectiveness of the reduction of bisphenol A concentrations during the process of ultrafiltration was small, due to the significant difference between the size of the pores of the membrane and the size of eliminated micropollutants. In the process of reverse osmosis, the wastewater treatment system reported that the concentration of bisphenol A was reduced by 68%. In the tested treatment system, the ultrafiltration/reverse osmosis completely removed colour, lead and chromium. Other contaminants were eliminated by more than 31%. In both membrane processes, there was evidence that the membrane pores were blocked, but this occurred to a greater extent during the process of reverse osmosis.

Opis:
The sewage treatment plant, as a producer of renewable energy, should make every effort to ensure that the biogas used as a fuel meets the quality requirements, including those of the manufacturers of cogeneration units. Such measures necessitate the application of a conditioning process of biogas in order to remove harmful compounds, so that its parameters ensure failure-free operation of engines. The aim of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of biogas treatment in the A-type installation using the “wet biogas treatment” technology, and in the B-type installation, which is a comprehensive solution comprising sulfur removal as a result of a simultaneous regeneration of the bed with oxygen, removal of siloxanes on activated carbon, cooling and heating of biogas along with its filtration. The analysis of the results of biogas testing for these two installations demonstrated fundamental qualitative differences for the benefit of the installation B, in which the biogas was characterized by a much lower content, mainly of sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, siloxanes and humidity. The introduced pollution indicator of a megawatt hour produced in cogeneration one has confirmed much higher pollution load from the A-type installation. The hybrid solution applied in the work with simultaneous regeneration of the bed has confirmed the efficiency of biogas conditioning. Such a solution contributes to a safe and reliable operation of the cogeneration system for generating energy from a renewable source, which in turn contributes to the optimization of energy.

Opis:
In order to solve the problem of providing the population with high-quality drinking water, preference is given to the use of groundwater deposits, which differ from surface sources in better quality and are more protected from man-made influences and climate change. Thirty-seven existing groundwater deposits are used for drinking and technical water supply in Lviv region. The distribution of groundwater in the region is very uneven, and in the Eastern Carpathians they are almost non-existent. The main factors of groundwater pollution in most of Ukraine are municipal sewage, livestock effluents, unorganized warehouses for storage of industrial waste, fertilizers and pesticides and other local objects that affect the state of groundwater. The gradual reduction of mineral fertilizer and pesticide usage has led to some improvement in the quality of groundwater, but for some agro-industrial areas the presence of residual pesticides and nitrogen compounds in groundwater remains a relevant problem. This year, there was an increase in the use of mineral fertilizers compared to last year. The aim of this work was to study the compliance of the maximum allowable concentrations of hydrochemical parameters of the wells of the Stryi water intake and to determine the potential impact of anthropogenic factors on water quality. The compliance with the sanitary and hygienic requirements of the hydrochemical parameters of water in the wells of the Stryi water intake was analyzed. The regularities of their changes as well as the presence of wells that have a potentially unstable chemical composition and are prone to deterioration of water quality were determined. The results of studies of related to the impact of self-treatment processes in the river Stryi on the quality of water intake in the city of Stryi showed that the drinking water from artesian wells is of high quality and now there are no negative effects of river water in the Stryi basin on groundwater deposits. The quality of river water is satisfactory for its use in domestic and drinking water supply and for recreational purposes.

Opis:
In this research paper, the problem of studying the effectiveness of ozone in the process of water treatment was considered. In the course of the scientific work, a review of domestic and foreign literature was conducted; its advantages and disadvantages were considered. The research paper presented the theoretical and practical methods of water purification with ozone. The main factors influencing the efficiency of the technology in the process of water purification were also considered. It was established that as a technological method of water purification, the efficiency of the ozonation process includes not only the cost of electricity, but also the efficiency of its mixing, ozone dissolution in treated water. In addition, special attention is paid to the final stage of mixing the ozone-air mixture with treated water. From the results obtained, it can be seen that after primary ozonation, the concentrations of chromium, oxidation of permanganate, iron, petroleum products, metal ions and other pollutants significantly decreased. During further water purification, organic and inorganic pollutants are removed in the future (completely or up to the requirements of the standard). However, calcium, magnesium, sulfates, chlorides, pH value, alkalinity and hardness practically do not change. The water quality after primary ozonation according to bacteriological indicators met the requirements of the standard.

Opis:
W pracy zaprezentowano wyniki badań nad zastosowaniem membran kompozytowych z poliakrylonitrylu (PAN) domieszkowanego polianiliną (PANI) do usuwania zanieczyszczeń ze ścieków przemysłowych powstających podczas obróbki metali. Pozyskane z przemysłu ścieki wstępnie podczyszczano poprzez zastosowanie flokulanta Magnafloc®336, po czym roztwór znad osadu wprowadzano do celi ultrafiltracyjnej AMICON (Millipore), zaopatrzonej we wcześniej przygotowaną membranę polimerową. Za pomocą spektrofotometru UV-Vis (HACH) oraz absorpcyjnej spektrometrii atomowej (AAS) oznaczano wskaźniki zanieczyszczenia ścieków przed i po procesach zintegrowanego oczyszczania, celem określenia stopnia usunięcia wybranych jonów ze ścieków. W wyniku prowadzonej flokulacji ze ścieków zostały usunięte fosforany (79%), chlorki (11–14%), siarczany (2–10%) oraz żelazo (36–92%), kobalt (~80%), kadm(~31%) i nikiel (~25%). Natomiast w ciśnieniowym procesie membranowym prawie całkowicie usunięto cynk , miedź i kadm (~100%), żelazo (o kolejne 43–69%) oraz aniony fosforanowe.
The paper presents results of research on the use of composite membranes of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) doped polyaniline (PANI) to remove contaminations of industrial wastewater generated during the processing of metals. Wastewater obtained from industry was pre-treated with the flocculant Magnafloc®336, and then the supernatant solution was introduced into the ultrafiltration cell, AMICON (Millipore) equipped in the previously prepared polymer membrane. Using spectrophotometer UV-Vis (HACH) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) pollution indicators was marked before and after the integrated purification proces, to determine the degree of removal of selected ions from wastewater. As a result of flocculation from wastewater there have been removed phosphates (79%), chlorides (11–14%), sulfates (2–10%) and iron (36–92%), cobalt (~ 80%), cadmium (~ 31% ) and nickel (~ 25%). However, the pressure membrane process almost completely removed zinc, copper and cadmium (~ 100%), iron (by a further 43–69%) and phosphate anions, which was a little.
