Opis:
Water is one of the most important natural resources for all living organisms, including humans. Water consumption is increasing over the years as a result of the increase in the number of people, and at the same time, the causes of pollution of surface water sources increase. Water pollution is one of the most important causes of diseases and the transmission of infection to the organisms that use it. Also, the quality of agricultural crops is linked to the quality of the water used for irrigation. As a result, there was a need to monitor and evaluate the main water sources to maintain the quality of their water suitable for use by humans and other organisms. As is well known, it is difficult to evaluate the water quality of large samples with concentrations of many parameters using traditional methods, which depend on comparing experimentally determined parameter values with current standards. As a result, over the past century and the present, many methods of assessing water quality have emerged. This research aims to introduce the most important indices of water quality used at present to assess the quality of surface water for drinking and irrigation purposes, as well as the history of these methods and their development over time and their most important advantages, in addition to a group of the most important research that used these methods during the past few years.

Opis:
The purpose of the study is a scientific and theoretical substantiation of the energy characteristics of ultra and nano filtration, which directly depend on the quality of the source water, to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of a combined water treatment plant (CWTP), to obtain high-quality drinking water in water supply systems intended for settlements and industrial facilities. The developed method of combined operation of a water treatment plant is based on membrane technology, the efficiency of which directly depends on the preliminary improvement of the quality of purified low-mineralized water using an energy-efficient membrane, post-treatment and subsequent disinfection. Indicators of the quality of treated water that meet regulatory requirements and indicators of improving the energy efficiency of the water treatment plant have been investigated and calculated on the basis of experimental data. The results of studies on low-mineralized water made it possible to obtain TDS (Total dissolved solids) with a total residual concentration of hardness and chlorides in the range of 0.77 mg/dm3 without any problems. The proposed combined water treatment plant method is a priority among fundamental and applied works in the field of water treatment, it is intended for the purification of natural waters under conditions of increased anthropogenic loads on natural water sources.

Opis:
Water is essential to the proper functioning of kindergartens and schools. Nevertheless, water consumption in public facilities is usually high, often exceeding the average household water consumption. Recently, increasing pressure on this valuable and depletable natural resource has been noticed and, therefore, it is interesting to study the water consumption in kindergartens and the possibilities of water saving. The present work examined 6 kindergarten facilities in Kyjov, Czech Republic, where the equipment has been enhanced with the faucet water saving technology. The work analyzed the impact of the equipment on the reduction of water consumption as a raw material and on the financial and economic profitability. The results were estimated based on the variation of two parameters such as average daily water consumption and demand per person. The experiment showed that installing the savers resulted in water savings ranging from 8% to 18.7% for average daily consumption and from 10.02% to 23.2% for per capita demand.
