Opis:
In this study, the existence of long-term trends in ecological footprint (EF), biocapacity, GDP, population and CO2 emissions for the period of 1961–2016, and their effect on the demographic, economic and biocapacity indicators on Ecuador’s EF were identified. The long-term trend analysis was performed by means of a Mann-Kendall, nonparametric test. The development of a multiple linear regression model of the EF considers the population, GDP, biocapacity and its logarithmic transformations as returners. A backward removal method was used, in conjunction with the Akaike criterion (AIC) to validate the most suitable model in terms of adjusted-R2, NSE, BIAS and RMSE, respectively. The results show significant changes (p<0.01) of the annual EF increase (0.015 hag), total population (216.375 inhabitants), GDP ($1.2 billion) and CO2 emissions (718.6 kt). However, the biocapacity has been declining (0.086 hag) at a faster rate than the ecological footprint. In other words, in a few years, the country will be facing ecological deficits. As for the empirical model of EF, it can be observed that for every increase of inhabitant’s units, the natural logarithm of biocapacity and GDP will increase EF by 1.68x10-7, 4.84 and 0.905 gha, respectively. Moreover, EF will be decreased by 0.6 gha each time the biocapacity increases by one gha unit. Finally, this robust and easy-to-interpret model allows accurate EF predictions that can be a tool to better forecast the environmental trends, allowing the development of sustainable projects in Ecuador.

Opis:
The Kon Plong district is located in the northeast area of the Kon Tum province, where ethnic people, such as Xo Dang and Hre, are dominant. With the portion of the poor families accounting for more than 50% of the total households, the improvement in the livelihood of ethnic is an emergency. Among the approaches to enhance the economical situation in the mountainous area like Kon Plong, the sustainable utilization of natural resources to produce valuable products is a possibility. The Codonopsis javanica (Blume) Hook.f. & Thomson (native name in the Vietnamese language is Dang Sam) is a precious medicinal plant with many benefits in pharmacological uses for human health. In nature, C. javanica is favorably distributed in the template climate and high mountain area. On the basis of the multi-criteria analysis using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) integrated GIS, the influence of climate factors and soil features in the Kon Plong district on the growth of C. javanica was evaluated. Using AHP evaluation, the four classes of adaptation thresholds (very suitable, suitable, less suitable and not suitable) between the C. javanica growth and climate or soil factors were determined and expressed in weight values. These adaptation values (weight values) were then exported to ecological adaptation maps using the GIS mapping system. The results showed that the most suitable area (called S1 and S2) for the cultivation of C. javanica could be an area of 77 ha, accounting for 55.8% of the study area. The area with high adaptability (S1) for growing C. javanica is mainly located in the Mang Den town and Mang But commune (the south area of the Kon Plong district). These study findings suggested that the growth of C. javanica is suitable in several places in Kon Plong and the production process of C. javanica probably promotes the exploitation of sustainable utilization of local medical plant biomass in the study area.

Opis:
Current study is devoted to the development of an ideotype of winter wheat variety for cultivation in the conditions of the South of Ukraine. The investigation is based on the results of regional ecological varietal testing, conducted in the Southern Steppe zone on the non-irrigated lands. Varietal traits, included in the study, embraced growing season duration, 1000 grains weight, plant height, and ear length. The results of the testing were further processed using statistical procedures of linear Pearson’s correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. As a result, the model of a winter wheat variety for the non-irrigated lands of the South of Ukraine was developed. The developed model is characterized by very high fitting quality (R2 = 0.9476) and good prediction accuracy (MAPE = 23.27%). According to the model, the variety should be late ripening with moderate to high plant height to provide the highest grain yield. The trait of 1000 grains weight was found out to be unimportant. The main trait, providing for the grain yield increase, is growing season duration, which must be long enough. Further ecological varietal testing studies with inclusion of additional varietal traits, such as cold-resistance, drought-resistance, frost-resistance, tolerance to diseases, etc., are to be conducted to extend the ideotype of winter wheat.

Opis:
With the development of information technology, electromagnetic radiation becomes a tangible view of the physical (wave) environmental pollution. Modern scientific research aimed at the components of the elec tromagnetic environment pollution problems mainly involves the anthropocentric approach. There is no procedure for determining the influence of harmful physical factors on biota, in particular in terms of water (Daphnia magna Straus) and air (Drosophila melanogaster L.) environments. A clear system of rationing of maximum permissible levels of electromagnetic radiation, including volume and ecosystems protected areas has not been developed. The article considers the relevant scientific and practical problem of creating a framework for assessing and predicting the negative impact of electromagnetic radiation on the biota related to ethological changes and teratogenesis. The characteristic of all the constituent elements of the system determines the degree of the negative impact of the induction of the magnetic field on the biota: activity, mortality; reproduction; availability, and frequency of Teratology. A method for determining the activity levels of Daphnia and Drosophila total average activity biota was developed and described. The trajectory patterns of Daphnia motion at low activity in the state of stability, with increased activity in the excited state, were created. The results of the research on the negative impact of electromagnetic radiation of industrial frequency on biota were presented. The critical levels of the magnetic field and noise pollution, which cause the depletion and destruction of the test object, the relationship between ethological changes and the occurrence of mutations depending on radiation levels were determined. The biological test objects were proven to minimize the error of the results of determination of electromagnetic effects on the biota, in comparison with the mathematical methods of research.
